“I booked Shanice on very short notice so there was no chance for a meet and greet with my puppy Nico. I took a chance on her based her previous reviews. Nico was at her doggy daycare for 2 days. She is super sweet and friendly. Most of all she adored my puppy. He had a good time with her and her fur baby. She sent me updates on Nico with pictures of his day. Nico was happy when he was dropped off and happy when I picked him up. That is always a good sign. I will definitely book Shanice again!”

About: I'm a communications professional for 30 years now, so it comes natural for me to share with pet owners every milestone of any day they're apart from their pets and trusting me with their care. For 20 years, I've cared for my friend's dogs, cats, and chickens in the Bay Area just for the fun of it. Now I'd like to open my experience and hope it will lead to more travel when I retire in a few year. Also, I have a veterinarian friend on speed dial. I've never had to call in an emergency. But I could! I work from home most days. I write, so I sit at my desk and I don't move much. I love having a cat on the desk or a well-exercised dog in their bed waiting for my next move. I go downtown twice a week, but I have a retired neighbor who volunteers at Animal Control and the SF Zoo who is nuts about dog-walking to fill-in for noontime walks. I like to treat all pets like they're my own, with a little extra in an auntie kind of way. I am an expert Kong-stuffer and a tug of war extremist, with a nice car that I don't mind getting hairy or muddy. Poo and litter are not things I shy away from. I love the smell of pet feet.

About: I've always been an animal lover. I had dogs and cats growing up, some of which I picked up as strays, and often took care of neighbors’ pets when they were out of town. I have experience helping train my sister's puppy, as well as taking care of him as a senior; training my dog; and administering medicine to dogs and cats. I work from home so pets are never left alone for too long. I check on them throughout the day to offer pets, cuddles, walks, and make sure they are eating okay. When boarding dogs, I take them on a minimum of 4 walks a day. I don't have a car, so my service radius for drop-in visits is set to a walkable/bikeable distance I can manage while working from home. Pets are allows on the couch and bed so they can be cozy and cuddle if they wish! I always treat pets with patience and kindness. I am attentive to their needs and make sure they are comfortable. My boyfriend lives with me and always gives pets lots of love, pets, and attention, too.

I was nervous having someone else than family watching the dog and after having my husband seeing the place and meeting Jay we both felt confident she would be great at watching our furry child. She kept us updated with lots of pictures of our puppy having tons of fun playing with other dogs and was very responsive to let us know how she was doing too. She also has plenty of space for the dogs to play at her place with a large backyard and she also lets them in the house with her. We also really appreciated how she took the time to write a detailed Rover card on what our dog did through-out the day and how she behaved. Love to have Jay watch our doggie again!”
