About: What sets me apart is the level of care and attention I give every pet. I treat them like family and take the time to learn their routines, personalities, and individual needs. I’m patient with shy or nervous pets and love keeping them happy, comfortable, and engaged while their people are away. As a professional pet groomer, I also bring extra experience with handling pets, reading body language, and noticing changes in their health or behavior. Your pets’ safety, comfort, and happiness always come first! 🐾❤️ Pet care naturally fits into my daily life! I care for my four furbabies every day, making sure they receive plenty of attention, enrichment, exercise, and love. I also work as a professional pet groomer, so caring for animals is both my passion and my profession. Your pets would be in caring, experienced hands! 🥰🐾 I take advantage of my fenced yard or my clients, if my client doesn’t have a fenced yard then I insure that harness and leash are safe before starting a walk, I make sure nothing remains on the floor for pets to eat that is bad, I have kennels if needed.
“I don’t think Nikki has ever said no to sitting! That’s incredible! She takes my pups out for good walks twice a day (more exercise than they probably get with just me). When I get home everything is always perfect and the dogs are happy. Highly recommend!”

“Andrhu is so great with our girls! He plays so well with our social dog so that she is worn out and happy when we get home. For our shy dog, he gives gentle attention and praise, working to form a bond of trust. He was also so thoughtful to stow our Amazon delivery safely out of sight. He really is the best!”

About: I've taken care of many of my friends pets, dogs and cats when they are away. I absolutely love doing it! Pets are part of the family! I am currently working part time doing instacart so I am on the road and can stop whenever I need to let them out or take them on a walk. I am also starting school this summer so I will be available after classes as well. I usually stay over at my friend's house whenever they are gone to watch their fur babies. So they feel comfortable and safe in there own space.
About: With over five years of experience caring for a wide range of animals, I've developed a genuine love and understanding for each one's unique needs. From dogs and cats to birds, reptiles, and small mammals, I've provided attentive care, ensuring their safety, comfort, and happiness. Whether it's daily walks and playtime for energetic pups, gentle cuddles for feline friends, or specialized care for more exotic pets, I'm committed to providing a nurturing environment where every animal feels loved and secure. I currently do online school. I’m very free on weekends and week ends! I will be able to house sit as well as be very active and flexible. I have a big fenced back yard. As well as 2 of my own dogs who are VERY friendly. I also have a car to be able to transport!
About: Hi, I'm Andrea and I hope we can host a cozy stay for your dog! I am a stay at home mom with my 2 kids 1 & 6. My family is extremely in love with dogs and all animals. Almost as much as me and are always very gentle since we had an older doggy to care for. I grew up around dogs my whole life and understand that they are a part of the family. I would love to care for your little fur baby and look forward to meeting you and if you have any questions let me know. Thanks for considering me to watch your doggy! I’m normally home with my kids most of the day unless it’s picking up my son from school 5 minutes away, so we have a lot of time to go on walks and play. Pet care is something I’ve always enjoyed! We have a fully fenced in back yard with plenty of room to run. I’m always watching out for any animals even if they’re just out by mistake.
About: I’ve had both dogs and cats in the home since I was born and I’ve always loved helping care for them. My first few jobs involved working at a dog boarding/daycare facility and since then my passion for animals has only increased. I have now been working as a veterinary assistant, in both the ER and general practice, for over 5 years. I am comfortable working with pets of all sizes, ages, and temperaments. I am trained in providing medications, ( I have a current Veterinary medication clerk license) including injectable, and am CPR trained. Besides the medical stuff, I am a very outdoorsy and active person. I can accommodate any of your pets needs. My dog is my best friend and I understand how stressful it can be to trust somebody with your beloved pets. My goal is to make it known that your furry friends are in the best hands and are being well loved on while you are away.I can perform baths, nail trims, and Anal gland expressions if requested and if your pet is tolerant to it. As of July 7th I start clinicals 40 hours a week. My scheduling changes every other week and it is all over the place. July 7-17 I work from 7-3. July 20-31 I work 1-9pm. August 3-28 is 7-3 again and lastly 5am-1pm until September 11th. I treat everybody’s property with the same respect that I would want from my pet sitters. No guests over, no touching things that aren’t required, and making sure to keep things tidy.
About: I’ve taken care of many pets for my family over the years, currently I’m helping my aunt with her high-energy border collie/german shepherd mix. I love taking dogs for walks, playing fetch, roughhousing with them, anything to get that energy out! I’m in between jobs right now and I’m looking to start college later in the fall. My schedule is very flexible and I have lots of free time. I’m good at following verbal/written instructions regarding boundaries within your home, as well as specific instructions about your pets needs. I’ll always ask the owner if I’m unsure about something.
“Cheryl is super reliable, and helps us clean up when Spruce gets into trouble. She's also super accommodating with our schedule and gives us a ton of tips for keeping him occupied and happy! So glad to have Cheryl close by.”

About: Hi! I'm Kat, a lifelong dog lover with years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all personalities and needs. I've shared my life with six rescue dogs over the years, and every one of them stayed with me for life. I've also had several cats, and an Off-the-Track Thoroughbred, so I'm comfortable around animals with unique backgrounds and personalities. Today I have three wonderful dogs of my own, including Pippa, who has separation anxiety. Caring for her has taught me the value of patience, consistency, and paying attention to each dog's individual comfort level. I've also worked with rescue dogs that had behavioral challenges, so I understand that every pet is different and deserves compassionate care. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, senior, or just likes things done a certain way, I'll treat them with the same care and respect I'd want for my own. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else's care, and I take that responsibility seriously. Mid-day 11am-2pm Evening: 5pm-7:00pm Late-night drop-ins only: 9:30pm to 11:30pm I love meeting new furry friends! My schedule is flexible, including evenings and holidays, so I'm often available when other sitters aren't. Every pet has their own routine, and I do my best to keep things as familiar and stress-free as possible. I'll follow your care instructions closely, whether that's feeding schedules, medications, walks, playtime, or simply providing companionship. During walks, your pet's safety is my top priority, and I'll always pay attention to their comfort, pace, and surroundings. For drop-in visits, I'm happy to provide fresh food and water, potty breaks, playtime, enrichment, cuddles (if they're interested!), and lots of updates so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands. I treat every home with respect and every pet as if they were my own.

About: I’ve been dog sitting since I was 10 years old, giving me years of experience caring for dogs with different personalities, routines, and needs. I’m responsible, patient, and attentive, and I enjoy making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved. I’m comfortable with walks, feeding, playtime, and following each owner’s specific care instructions. I’m currently job searching, as I am new to this area, so I will be available pretty much any time during daylight hours and weekends. I cannot bring pets into my apartments, but I am happy to watch someone else’s dog at their own place. I usually receive a list of things to do for the pet(s) and follow the instructions as they should be done, to ensure the pet(s) are comfortable.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - South Hill
Lexi walked my dogs weekly for about 6 weeks and did an excellent job! She had great communication and went above and beyond, especially with my senior dog who is 14 and sometimes had to be carried home from the park. I would highly recommend her and I will absolutely look her up again if I’m in the area. Thanks so much Lexi!
I went into early labor and needed help with checking in on our 2 pups. Mikaila quickly confirmed the appointments and went far and beyond to ensure that not only were my boys taken care of during my labor and delivery, but also our home. We appreciate her so much!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
