“Had to make an unexpected trip and chose Yuki to care for my two cats based on her outstanding reviews. She exceeded my expectations and engaged with my cats, which is not easy for strangers to do! I appreciate the care Yuki provided and will certainly check her availability first the next time I’m away.”

About: I started taking care of my neighbor's cat when I was just 7, and I've been caring for animals ever since! I have over 10 years of experience caring for cats of all ages, walking dogs, and even misting geckos. I raised my kitten and am familiar with the ammount of stimulation and play young (and older!) cats need. I have experience administering medications, including inhalers for dogs, and working with older animals. I'm currently taking a break before starting graduate school in the fall - I'm available mornings and evenings for feedings and walks, and during-the-day care can be scheduled as needed. I am committed to providing play and attention to the animals I care for in their familiar environments! I ensure I play with cats and get them engaged and moving every day, and provide the walks that dogs need to explore and spend their energy.
“Laura diligently took care of our cats, adhering to their feeding schedule and also spending an abundant amount of time playing with them & giving them attention. Very communicative also. Thanks so much!”

About: Hello!! I’ve taken care of many different kinds of pets, including my own dogs, rats, frogs, and fish for as long as I can remember! I have several years of experience in caring for and providing pet sitting services for multiple repeat clients. I’m comfortable managing multiple pets at once, administering basic medications, and always prioritize creating a safe, happy, and healthy environment for every animal in my care. I treat each pet like my own and want to make them feel as comfortable and loved as possible while you’re away!! ☺️ I have a flexible, home based schedule and spend most of my day at home working from my computer, so I’m able to give your pets consistent attention, care, and companionship. I’m available for walks, playtime, and check ins throughout the day, and I love using walks and exercise as a break in my routine. I coach lacrosse a few evenings a week, but otherwise I have lots of availability and can easily adjust to your pet’s needs and routine! 🐾 Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priority. I work to ensure that your pet’s boundaries are respected and create a secure and loving environment where they can feel at ease while you’re away. I carefully follow any instructions you provide, including feeding schedules, routines, and behavioral needs. I’m attentive to detail, responsive, and committed to making sure your pet is always safe, supervised, and well cared for.
About: I’m a pre-vet student at Colorado State University, and I have worked with and had pets for my whole life. I volunteer regularly at Animal Friends Alliance and The Milo Foundation, taking care of cats and dogs of all sizes and ages, from puppies to seniors. I also volunteer around the clinic at Marin Humane Society, prepping and taking care of recovering animals after procedures. I have pet sit for friends and family for the past 6 years, walking, feeding, and playing with their animals. Around my house I am the dedicated person to administer any medications and teach new tricks! I am a very flexible person! I am a full time student at the moment, with classes in the mornings and early afternoons on all weekdays during the semester. But I am dedicated to animal care and love to spend time with pets. I also volunteer regularly throughout the week, but those shifts are moveable. As a pre-vet student I take animal safety seriously, always being gentle and making sure to notice any signs of fatigue or weakness. I make sure to stay in the proper areas while petting unless the animal is comfortable with me going further. I clean all messes that the pets make, whether it’s fecal matter, vomit, or anything else. On walks, I am careful around other dogs even if the pet I’m walking is kind, you never know the reactivity of other dogs on the street. I’m always sure to make the pets feel cared for, happy, and loved!
“Tatiana was awesome! She came twice a day and took great care of our cat Sonny. She was always on time and it was nice that he could keep his same eating schedule while we traveled. He seemed relaxed and happy around her, which was what I was hoping for. She also took great care of watering my flowers! And did some nice extra things like taking out the trash and vacuuming before she left. Would definitely recommend her!”

About: I’ve always grown up with having a dog in the house, and was asked my family and friends to feed, walk, and play with their pets (mostly dogs and cats)! I’m currently working part time, meaning I have a bunch of free time on my hands to keep your pup company. Even if you need someone just to pop in for a few minutes or take a long walk I’m your gal. I’m always aware of my surroundings and make sure the pup can become comfortable with me when I meet them! I will also ask additional questions in case I need extra clarification

About: I have always loved animals and enjoy taking care of pets like they are my own. I am responsible, patient, and comfortable feeding pets, walking dogs, playing with them, and making sure they feel safe and cared for while their owners are away. Friends, neighbors, and family know they can rely on me to be trustworthy, attentive, and loving with their pets. I am currently a student, so I am usually available after school, on weekends, and during breaks. I can help with dog walking, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and giving pets attention when their owners are busy or away. I will always communicate clearly about my availability and make sure each pet gets reliable care. I always make safety my top priority and will follow each owner’s instructions carefully. I make sure pets have fresh water, food, exercise, and a comfortable environment. I am responsible about keeping doors and gates secure, watching pets closely on walks, and making sure they feel calm, loved, and cared for while their owners are gone.

“Megan was amazing with our beagle. She was communicative, respectful and sent tons of photos and updates! She responded to our beagle’s needs (shy, needs outdoor time) and our dog was so happy under her care. Highly recommend this sitter.”

“Alacia is the best! Our cat Nova seems to have officially accepted her into the family. We couldn’t be luckier to have her stopping by to look after the little one. Thank you again for everything!”

About: Hey there! Are you looking for an experienced dog/cat walker or sitter who also just happens to be a college student desperate for animal companionship? You're in luck! I've grown up around all kinds of animals, and have been caring for other people's pets while balancing my journalism studies at San Francisco State University. I have more than 15 years of experience of pet care, 4 of those being with Rover. I have a relatively flexible schedule and can accommodate most pet's needs! Feel free to shoot me a message and set up a meet-and-greet with your pet to make sure we're a right fit. Looking forward to getting to know you and your pets. :) I currently am in university, but my schedule is extremely flexible and can accommodate whatever you would need. I only have one class on Tuesdays from 4 pm to 6 pm. When you book with me you book with someone who cares just as much about your pet's safety as you do, your pet's wellbeing is my utmost priority and I will do everything in my power to ensure that! I am extremely detail oriented, tidy, and professional.
About: Hello, my name is Iman, and if you're thinking of how to say it, think of it like the second half of the word Pokemon! From taking care of my own dog, helping my elderly neighbors walk their dogs, and much more, I can handle many breeds from tiny pups to big dogs and I do it with a smile on my face because I love working with these animals. While I only have four official years of house sitting and dog walking professionally, all my life I have been surrounded by dogs and have handled them with care. I hope I get to be your dog's next friend! I have a completely free summer so catering to your pet and their needs will be my upmost priority, and I will absolutely have a blast spending time with them! Since I am fortunate enough to have a dog be a part of my family, I understand how much these tailed animals mean to us, so I always put their safety in mind. For example, If I were to walk them, I would always put myself between the street and them. I'm always checking my surroundings and considerate of other dogs potentially, and more. And things like this are the bare minimum. I hope you can trust me and it won't be a decision you will regret.
“Andy was great, I highly recommend him! My dog Teddy took an immediate liking to him and looked happy and content in the photos and videos he sent. Andy followed my instructions and left my home neat and tidy. Communication was excellent before and during the visit.”

“Ethan and Mariia were amazing taking care of my dog with separation anxiety. They kept me updated with photos and activities of what them and my dog did that day. They were very responsive and asked a lot of questions for taking care of my dog. Will definitely book again!”

About: Throughout my formative years, I have cultivated extensive experience in animal care. My expertise encompasses a diverse array of species, including but not limited to, kittens, puppies, adult mammals, and reptiles. My availability begins around 10:00 AM; following my morning routine, I am available until around 11:00 PM. Although my property does not feature a fenced yard, its close proximity to a dog park offers abundant opportunities for outdoor engagement with your canine companion. About: I’ve taken care of dogs for many years including dogs of all ages and sizes. I also live near Mt. Tam which has allowed me to explore and have tons of fun with our furry friends! I am very flexible during the week and especially weekends as I am out of school. I have some part- time responsibilities but can easily get to various parts of the city or Marin during the day. I make sure to let the dog take its time in introducing its home to me and will be very careful and respectful in their home.

Genna was amazing! She took great care of my cat Nutella. She brushed her, played with her, fed her and gave her lots of love. She offered to meet before and noted down everything on Nutella routine. Also a bird got into the apartment and Nutella killed it, and Genna took care of everything, even vacuumed. Genna was amazing, I highly recommend her

We absolutely loved having Rachel look after our cats. She went above and beyond for our boys, even buying litter and new toys for them, and was incredibly attentive to their needs the whole time. We got thoughtful updates, and it was clear they were very comfortable with her. We came home to happy, relaxed cats and a clean space. We’d 100% book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring sitter. 🐾💛

Sian is a kind and wonderful soul. She took good care of our kitties and did a great job following special instructions for the house. We felt very confident and comfortable leaving her in charge while on retreat and the kitties will be having her back! So grateful and what a relief to have someone we can count on.

Ella is an exceptional dogsitter & person, and that was evident within mere hours of meeting her! Ella came over to get to know my dogs before a couple weekday walks and it was clear that she is a true dog lover at heart. I have one dog who is a total lover and another who’s a bit moody, but she was able to connect with both of them right away. She was attentive, kind, and I could tell she really cared about doing a great job and providing the best possible care for my pets. When I left town a few days later, I reached out to her in a panic when I needed someone local to come help out with an issue unrelated to dogsitting. She had yet to even complete our first booking, but since I knew she lived nearby I texted her in a last ditch effort. She responded instantly and literally saved the day by stepping in to help out when she absolutely did not need to. She was gracious and kind, and I truly don’t know what I would’ve done without her! Since then, she’s created a close bond with both my pets and become a household name we speak of fondly. She goes above and beyond in everything she does and I feel so lucky to have found her.

As soon as you meet Leo, you know your fur kids are in the right hands. He is very thoughtful, caring, detail-oriented, reliable, responsible, respectful and friendly. He takes great pics. I look forward to having him watch over my fur babies again. Super grateful we met!

Katelyn took care of my cat, Nutella, better than I ever could! She didn’t just stop by to check on her, she made sure every little detail was perfect and showed such a deep, caring level of attention. Katelyn gave Nutella plenty of pets, played with her, brushed her, and even brought a laser toy to keep her entertained. She is truly amazing, and I can confidently say I’ve found my forever cat sitter. Nutella absolutely loves her, and I couldn’t recommend Katelyn enough.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
