A typical visit or day with me focuses on keeping your pet’s routine as normal and comfortable as possible. I start by checking in on your pet, greeting them calmly, and making sure they have fresh water and their scheduled meal if it’s feeding time. For dogs, visits may include walks around the neighborhood, playtime, potty breaks, and lots of attention and affection. I always adjust activity levels depending on the dog’s age and personality, whether that means a long walk, some playtime, or just relaxing at home. For cats, visits usually include feeding, refreshing water, scooping the litter box, and spending time with them in whatever way they prefer. Some cats love interactive play with toys, while others prefer quiet company, gentle pets, or simply someone nearby while they relax. During every visit I also keep an eye on your home to make sure everything looks safe and normal. I’ll send updates and photos so you know how your pet is doing and can feel comfortable while you’re away. My goal is always to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and cared for while keeping their routine consistent.

I truly love animals and have over 30 years of experience caring for dogs and cats. I’ve grown up with pets my entire life and have also spent years pet sitting and volunteering with dog rescues. When you’re away—whether for work or travel—I’ll make sure your pets feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for. I treat every animal like family and aim to become their favorite human (or at least their second favorite after you!). I’m reliable, honest, and trustworthy. Born and raised in Marin, I’m a mom of two humans and a 10-month-old boxer, and the proud aunt to a big rescue doodle and two cat brothers.

Katherine hung out with my mini-schnauzer and a friend's lab for two hours last night and they clearly had lots of fun! Katherine is a very nice, caring and seasoned dog owner who we felt very comfortable leaving with our pups. She quickly picked up on the personalities of the dogs and followed home entry/leashing guidance perfectly. I would highly recommend Katherine for anyone looking for wise and trustworthy dog care!
I have left both my cat and dog with Katherine on several occasions. My animals love her and get so excited every time they see her. They are very well taken care of. She is responsive and extremely reliable keeping me updated with a few pictures throughout their stay. We love her!
