“Lauren was a pleasure. I have two cats and she was comfortable around them. Lauren is friendly and handled the care of my cats exactly like I asked. She was timely and sent pictures. She asked questions so she was clear in what I needed and she made sure everything was tidy when her cat sitting came to a close. I recommend her and will use her next time. Thank you Lauren.”

“Caroline did a great job checking in with my kitty! When I leave my cat alone she gets stressed out and lets me know when I get back by acting out. Caroline was able to reduce her stress when I had to leave (in the middle of moving in) and my kitty was happy and well behaved when I got back. I loved all of the photos she sent each check-in and knowing she was being cared for. Will be booking with her again!”

“Gage was the perfect match for our new puppy Ash. He was punctual, knowledgeable and very comfortable with Ash. We’re lucky to have found him and will definitely continue to use his services. Thank you ? Ash is looking forward to seeing you again soon.”

About: I grew up with 4 poodle mixes (maltipoo, cockapoo & other mixes) and was very involved in training them and cared for them as old as 15. I’ve looked after dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages including puppies, senior dogs, and special dietary needs. My dogs are with my parents who moved overseas, so I miss having furry companions around. (If you’re wondering about the gap in reviews, I was traveling for several months but I’ve returned to Marin eager to resume dog sitting!) I work from home and have a job with great balance and flexibility that allows me to take walks and dedicate attention and TLC to your sweet doggo. My girlfriend Amanda lives with me, also works from home and loves dogs so there is plenty of love to go around! I live in a one bedroom condo with plenty of space and a fenced balcony. Your dog will stay with me primarily inside and we will play, go out for walks, and visit the local dog park if desired.
About: Hey there doggy parent my name is Emany I love to take care of pets as I used to have a dog and a cat . I want to spread the love to more pets as a pet sitter. The main job of a pet sitter is to take care of customers’ pets while they are away for work or travel. As a pet sitter, I would also be offering a variety of services such as walking and feeding pets, administering basic medications and providing companionship for them while the owners are unable to be there. I’m currently not working so I’m home full time. Taking care of your little sweet pet will be my full time job ! And I do a great job at it I have a fenced yard and also a park about a 5 minute walk from me . Your pet will be in the best care. If they have any medications or behavioral needs please let me know for any safety concerns

I feel I have a special connection to them. I look forward to hearing about and meeting your pet. I take care of pets daily and would love to add your pet to our pack. We do a variety of activities from hikes in the hills to playing at the beach to socialization with humans and other pets around town. We are usually out and about most of the time. And only come home briefly during the day. Each pet will be treated with the utmost respect. And will get the correct amount of exercise according to their needs.
“Alaina had great communication with us, and was obviously invested in our pup’s well being ! She used the hour to its fullest potential which we really appreciate- Some drop ins can be a waste of time/money but Alaina was well worth it and made our puppy happy. Excited for our pup to have a new friend :)”

About: I have done about 50+ petsits including 3 farm sits (MY FAVOURITE!) I love hiking, long walks and snuggling at home with the fur babies. I was outside of the US and have met clients outside of the app while traveling, that is why my reviews here are not recent. I can offer recent references from the past few months from my pet sitting clients. ❤️ I am still available to book here. I call the animals I take care of "my babies." I can run outside with the dogs 3 hours per day. I am a homebody and work online, so for me it's heaven to be inside the home with beautiful pets. That is actually my idea of a dreamy day. I would be a great sitter for an animal who wants lots of company or who isn't used to being alone. I can be out less than 2 hours per day if requested. I also respect the space and preferences of animals. I think about making them happy first, not them making me happy. I love long walks and making sure Dogs who need to run off leash, do so. I also love playing games like tug of war and fetch. I'm able to spend several hours per day to play with and excercise the Dogs. I research about each breed before I accept the sit and I now have experience with different breeds. I send photos and videos every day. You may have to tell me when you think it's too much. I filled up a lot of my memory on my phone and solid state drive with the pets I've taken care of, but I can't delete the photos. It's like deleting photos of your kids. Not possible. Excited to hear from you. I sure have enjoyed the love of pets and I hope to be able to continue enjoying caring for pets. Amazingly. I work better when there are pets around. I already prefer to be home. I'm the type of person that reminds myself to go out of the house and be among people. The one thing I am good at is taking walks every day, so that habit also works well when I'm taking care of Dogs who like walks. I could walk a Dog more than their used to even, if the owners thinks it will make them happy. I am used to preparing special foods for Dogs and Cats, being sure animals don't escape. I would say I go into Mommy mode once I'm with the animals. When there are more than two pets in the house, if I snuggle with one, I will then go to snuggle and give attention to the other one. If the other animal loves playing fetch, I may snuggle the animal, then play fetch after. I don't play loud music around the animals. Although I also don't like loud music when I'm alone .
About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life, and caring for them comes naturally to me. I have years of hands-on experience as a lifelong dog owner, and dogs seem to connect with my calm, positive energy. Whether it’s playtime, walks, or simply providing companionship, I’ll make sure your dog feels safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away Im currently looking for as many opportunities as possible as my schedule has opened up. Currently im taking same day booking but I am open to consistent weekly work. I first ask what is expected of me , and going from there. In the past I’ve taken care of dogs in kennels, fenced off, indoor, and anyway the owner sees fit ensuring the safety of the pet ❤️
About: YO HABLO ESPANOL TAMBIEN...I've had pets since I was a child, first a hamster, then a rat, house finches, more rats, cats, dogs, a tortoise.... When I take care of other people's pets I've been responsible for medications, training and even administering fluids with a bag and needle (I am a California state licensed phlebotomist). I've also fostered puppies, kittens and pregnant cats until they found their forever homes. I've recently moved back to the Bay Area, (as of September 2022). My beautiful Scottish terrier Gadget has passed away and I have lots of love to give your pets. Furthermore, I do not have pets of my own, as I have rehomed my African Sulcata tortoise Donatello and he's doing wonderfully in Washington state. I'm able to give your animals my full attention. I love traveling around the Bay Area and it is a pleasure to come to your home and housesit while you are away. My main priority during my stay is to spend a lot of time with your pets while keeping your home safe and clean.
“Grace was an amazing sitter for our two cats! She was very communicative, responsive, and clearly very experienced with cats. She took such great care of them and sent us tons of photos and updates, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We felt completely at ease knowing they were in such good hands. We would absolutely recommend Grace and would be very happy to have her look after our cats again!”

About: Spending time with your pet is my pleasure, and I would care for them as if they were my own. As far back as I can remember I have been a go-to petsitter for friends, family, and coworkers and am known for being flexible, low maintenance, responsible, and having a blast with pups. I will follow any special instructions to the letter and will give your pet a full measure of attention and playtime. I can also send pictures daily if requested. I am easy to communicate with, and I'm easy to reach by phone, WhatsApp, or your preferred messaging service. I love the outdoors, so if your pup wants to enjoy trails and time at the beach or in the mountains, I'm your girl. I am also happy to have a cuddly kitty or lapdog sit with me in the sun as I work on my laptop. I run my own online business and work from home, so I can provide around-the-clock care for your pet. My schedule is highly flexible, so I can provide regular walks throughout the day and attend to any special needs as they come up. We'll discuss your pet's special needs and unique behaviors ahead of time and meet to acquaint ourselves. Knowing how your pet will react to dogs, cats, wildlife, people, children, noises or other unexpected stimuli is important to know ahead of time. I can care for any special dietary needs or medications, or any other unique needs your pet has. Send me a message and let's chat about your pet!
About: As a 22 year old with a lot of experience with pets I have seen it all! From my senior dog to my new puppy and all the cats in between I have loved them and cared for them like no other. I am a current post-grad student with a fairly open schedule! I am available for drop ins, to care for them from your home and have them at my house. I have a fenced yard and a car as well for transportation. The not only safety of your pet but stability and sense of love is very important to me.
About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and care for all sizes and personalities! I offer walking, sitting, playtime, and can safely give medications. Whether your dog needs active exercise, calm companionship, or special care, I’ll treat them like one of my own — with love, patience, and attention to detail. I'm available for pet sitting and care Wednesday through Saturday mornings, with some flexibility depending on your pet’s needs. I’m happy to do early visits, medication administration, and check-ins during those morning hours. Please feel free to reach out with your schedule — I’ll do my best to accommodate! When caring for pets in your home, I focus on keeping their routine as familiar and stress-free as possible. I follow your instructions closely for feeding, medication, playtime, and any special needs — including administering medications or subcutaneous fluids. Whether your dog or cat wants quiet companionship or active play, I’m there to give them gentle, reliable care while you’re away.
About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and caring for them comes naturally to me. I grew up rescuing dogs of all breeds, ages, temperaments, and medical backgrounds, which taught me patience, compassion, foundational training skills, and the importance of tailoring care to each animal’s individual personality and needs. Over the years, I’ve also cared for friends’ pets, including dogs, cats, birds, and chameleon. My experience includes walks, drop-in visits, overnight stays, medication administration, and outdoor adventures. I currently share my home with two incredible pups and a kitten who thinks he's a dog! Adventures big and small are part of our routine, whether we're exploring a park, hitting the trails, spending a day at the beach, or relaxing at a pet-friendly café. Whether your dog is an energetic adventurer who loves exploring new trails, a social butterfly who enjoys long walks, or a couch-loving companion who just wants some company, I'll tailor my care to their personality, preferences, and routine so they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I know our pets are family, and trusting someone else to care for them is a big deal. My goal is to make that experience as stress-free as possible for both you and your pet. I'll respect their routines, give them plenty of attention and affection, and keep you in the loop with regular messages and photo updates while you're away. I cannot wait to connect and meet your loved one! My schedule is very flexible during the week and on weekends! Just to note, my four-leggeds would not interact with your pet unless discussed and boarding would be in your home! Safety, trust, and your pet’s comfort are always my priorities. I take the time to understand each pet’s personality, routines, triggers, and individual needs so I can provide attentive, personalized care in an environment where they feel secure. When caring for pets in your home, I respect your space and follow your instructions closely, from feeding schedules and exercise routines to medication administration and household rules. I’m mindful of secure doors, gates, leashes, and harnesses, and I take extra care during walks and outdoor adventures to keep pets safe. I also make sure pets have fresh water, a comfortable space to rest, and plenty of positive attention. Clear communication is important to me, too. I’ll keep you updated with messages and photos, let you know how your pet is doing, and reach out promptly if I have any concerns. My goal is for you to feel confident that your pet is receiving thoughtful, reliable care and that your home and their routines are being respected while you’re away.
“Pat was an incredible help for my family! Pat helped with drop in visits to take care of my cat while my husband and I were in the hospital to give birth to our baby! Pat was flexible and understanding of the schedule changes, and most importantly she gave us a peace of mind — her updates and pictures of my cat Risa showed clearly that even though we had to leave her for almost a week, she was doing great and I didn’t need to stress! All of that in an extremely bad heatwave — Pat made sure to turn on fans and bring Risa to a room with AC on. Pat also made sure to text both my husband and me on Rover, so we both could get the updates. She checked in on us too, which we appreciated! In the few days that Pat helped us we felt like we had a trustworthy and caring friend and that something that is so rare to find! Thank you, Pat!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - El Campo
Megan is great with my shy kitties. They've warmed up to her after only 2 bookings. She even found and cleaned up the places where one of the cats threw up. I didn't think to mention where the cleaning supplies were. She also suggested something to give cats help with hairballs. She clearly knows and cares about cats. For the reports, she always takes lots of photos and lets you know how your cats are doing. I feel confident my cats are well taken care of when Megan is cat sitting.

I've been so lucky to find someone who understands my sometimes fearful/reactive senior rescue dog. Marielle is so kind and did all the right things to make introductions with my dog a positive experience for her. There are very few other people I would trust to take my 65 pound shepherd/bully mix out on a walk and not have to worry. Having another person I know Winnie trusts makes life so much less stressful when I have busy weeks at work, and Winnie is so happy to have a new friend to hang out with.

Linda was able to watch out dog Zoe for 8 days over the holiday. We had another rover cancel and were thrilled to find Linda. She stopped in twice a day to feed, walk and entertain our dog. We loved getting the daily pictures and knew our dog was in good hands.

We absolutely loved having Rachel look after our cats. She went above and beyond for our boys, even buying litter and new toys for them, and was incredibly attentive to their needs the whole time. We got thoughtful updates, and it was clear they were very comfortable with her. We came home to happy, relaxed cats and a clean space. We’d 100% book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring sitter. 🐾💛

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
