Since I was 15, I’ve been responsible for taking care of my family’s dogs, foster dogs, neighbors cats, and other friends pets of all sorts, and have always loved giving them the attention, care, love, and activity that they need to thrive! I’ve taken dogs for long or short walks, stopped in to feed cats, or stayed overnight for multiple days for full pet care experience. I’ve missed caring for pets since moving to California from Michigan and am excited to spend time with animals again, especially by taking them on great walks around the neighborhood or caring for them in the comfort of their homes! I’m working full time about 8-4, but some days I work from home, and otherwise have a flexible schedule for walking or house sitting pets on evenings or weekends. Growing up with an untrusting rescue dog and a very independent cat, I understand the value of one's behavior and actions regarding a pet and its wellbeing. I have always loved animals and being around them. I've volunteered at a wildlife rehabilitation facility and also helped in Thailand at an elephant rescue sanctuary. These opportunities, combined with my own experiences at home have helped to develop my patience, communication skills, love, and respect for animals and their need for a safe environment. I hope that I can be there to provide that environment for your furry companion whenever and wherever you need me! I live in a large house in North Portland near several parks with a fenced backyard and 2 other girls who love animals just as much as I do.

“Lauren took care of my 12 month puppy Momo as if she were her own. She was very understanding of Momo being very anxious with strangers and this being the first time that we left her for such a long time (12 days), and she met with us twice before the boarding to see that it was a good fit; Momo loved her instantly. During the boarding Lauren sent us daily updates to let us know how Momo was doing and she was very responsive 100% of the times. It put me at ease knowing Momo was being well taken care of and when I picked her up I could tell how well along they got. I would book with Lauren again. Thank you Lauren!”

About: 10+ years of professional pet care experience through Wag! as a part-time job. I’m experienced in caring for puppies, high-energy pets, and multi-pet households, as well as elderly pets and dogs that don’t want to walk. I work full time as a mental health counselor, and I bring the same positively and patience that I have for my human clients as I do for my canine and feline ones. :) I work from home and have a highly variable schedule, often have time in the mornings and evenings, and various pockets throughout the day to care for your pets. I have a pet-friendly apartment with lots of sunlight and windows for pets to look out onto the street. I love nearby the beach and many grassy parks for walks and playtime.

They kept me well informed with frequent messages, photos, and videos, and I could see that Jack was chilling and relaxed. They even captured his goofy smile!
