About: I was raised on a farm in the countryside. We had cats and dogs among other animals. Many of these I claimed as pets. I've owned several dogs in my lifetime and into their older years and currently have two cats which they think they're human. These little animals are part of our families. This makes them of great importance and priority. Their care should be taken just as seriously as each other. Listening to their needs and watching their habits they communicate. I take great care listening to the sounds and movement of a pet to discern what they are trying to communicate that they need. Flexibility is important when it comes to pet sitting. My children are almost adults now so I have more time to care for another family's pets. I do not have the room for a pet in my home but I have lots of room in my heart to take care of your pet in yours.
“Paulina was the sweetest! She loved my 2 cats as if they were hers :) lots of play time and lots of pets! :) she even swept the living room before she left! Paulina is such a sweetheart and such an animal lover. I loved all the pictures she sent me of my fur babies :) I will definitely reach back out to her for all my pet babysitting needs!”

“Emma was available last minute when another sitter canceled, came right away and took care of my pup for the weekend! I could enjoy my trip knowing my dog was in good hands”

About: I've had a special place in my heart for dogs since I was a kid. I was the designated puppy trainer, groomer, and bestie for our family pups growing up. I have my own sweet mini labradoodle, Lainey, who loves company! I've helped with family and friends' pets my whole life, and I'm excited to have a new schedule these days that allows me to help out pet parents on Rover. I currently study from home, so I have plenty of time for your pup! I don't have any obligations away from home, so if your pup needs a little extra attention, feel free to say so, and I'll accommodate the best I can. I have a roomy apartment and a screened-in porch. When we're not on walks or at the park, my pup loves hanging out on the porch with the fans on for some fresh air (door to the inside kept cracked open). My apartment is toddler-proofed and safe, and I'm always around to keep an eye on your pup. We have plenty of chew toys, treats, and fun to go around :)
“Martha was an amazing pet sitter. She is prompt, courteous, and very attentive to detail as well as the animals. I felt very secure leaving my animals in her care. She is also very informative and communicated daily.”

About: I was born and raised in a small rural Missouri town surrounded by all kinds of animals; big and small! Dogs have always been a major part of my life, and I hold their safety and enjoyment to the highest standard. Growing up on a farm, I’ve cared for dogs of all stages of life; from their first day to their last! I’ve administered medications in pill form, and changed wound dressing when needed. I don’t shy away from the big or “scary” breeds, & I believe all dogs deserve the same respect! I’m currently working part-time so I’ll have plenty of time dedicated solely to your furry family member! Availability is open from 7am-7:30pm; Monday-Saturday. Your pets safety is my #1 priority! I will treat your dog with the same respect as I would my own, and I will pay close attention to the dogs temperature levels and surroundings. Fresh water will be readily available on all walks.

“Crysta was AMAZING!! I had a unique request: help me get my three dogs to my wedding. Our dogs are a very big part of our lives and we knew our wedding wouldn’t be complete without them. We’ve always dreamed that at our wedding we would be surrounded by our family and friends and our dogs are the most important members of our family. Crysta made our wedding complete! She stepped in when no one else could and accepted the request without hesitation. I scheduled a meet and greet just to make sure she got to meet them first and we talked through our wedding timeline. I asked Crysta to be at our Airbnb for 4 pm, let them have a quick potty break, and take them about 15 minutes down the road to our venue, wait while we take some family photos with the pups, then bring them back to our Airbnb. Let me tell you, she exceeded my expectations TREMENDOUSLY!! She arrived out our house around 3:30, let them have a longer potty break than I asked for, and made it to my venue ONE WHOLE HOUR before the wedding started. She went above and beyond to make sure my dogs were cared for and got to and from the venue safely. I’m not from Destin, I was just in town for the wedding from Houston, but whenever I am back in town and need help with our dogs, she will be the FIRST person I call. She was so kind and friendly and she treated our dogs like they were her own. Words cannot describe how happy I am that I found Crysta. I think my dogs were just as happy, they loved her!! She sent me some cute pics too. Thank you so much Crysta!! You made our dream come true! ♥️”

“Nicole was available last minute. Showed up. Asked questions if needed. She stayed with our puppy until we returned even after realizing he was a handful. She sent pictures to update us. She was great.”

About: Hi there! I relocated to the 30A area this past spring from Colorado, where I was previously offering my animal care services. I look forward to continuing to connect with new individuals & families here that are seeking quality care for their beloved pets! Feel free to reach out with any questions. I am currently available for housesitting, dog walking, and drop-in visits. Please note that for housesitting jobs I do need to bring my 13 year old chocolate lab along with me. His profile is available to check out at the bottom of my page :) I have been offering animal care services for several years now and I truly enjoy it so much! Pet parents can expect that if I am available for a booking that I will be all in with your animals! I always inquire about routines, specific instructions and if there is anything else I may need to know in order to ensure the best care for your pet(s). It is important to me to help keep their daily routines as normal as possible, and to be aware of anything I may need to look out for to ensure their safety and wellbeing while in my care.

I grew up with mixed breeds and many animals, had a Great Pyrenees, golden retriever and then a hot dog, also I Have taken care of friends’ dogs when I lived up north. I have lived in Florida for nine years, I know where dog parks are ( if it is approved by owners). I have worked in the health field with a variety of illnesses, also the short term rental & HOA field. I have always been amazed by service animals, therapy animals and have considered becoming a dog groomer. I love dogs and now have more flexibility and availability for doing what I love! I’m healthy , active and know the area, don’t mind traveling I’m currently retired and working just 2-3x/week 1-6pm. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
