About: I was raised on a farm in the countryside. We had cats and dogs among other animals. Many of these I claimed as pets. I've owned several dogs in my lifetime and into their older years and currently have two cats which they think they're human. These little animals are part of our families. This makes them of great importance and priority. Their care should be taken just as seriously as each other. Listening to their needs and watching their habits they communicate. I take great care listening to the sounds and movement of a pet to discern what they are trying to communicate that they need. Flexibility is important when it comes to pet sitting. My children are almost adults now so I have more time to care for another family's pets. I do not have the room for a pet in my home but I have lots of room in my heart to take care of your pet in yours.
“Paulina took great care of my two cats. She made sure they were well cared for and happy while I was gone by providing medication when needed and spending time giving them attention.”

About: I’ve always had a dog. I love the outdoors and walk my own dog 3-4 times a day! I also have had bathing and grooming training. I am currently a wife and stay at home dog & kitten mom. I have plenty of time attention, and love to give to your fur babies! I have one dog of my own and a great yard. I will always provide the care and love you want for your furry family member.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs for 20+ years. I do have a soft spot for senior or disabled pups and I can ensure you that you will come home to a happy fur baby! I am currently working part-time or close to home. This allows me to keep your pups out and about for walks, playtime or just snuggles. I have a large fully fenced in backyard to let the Zoomies out. Cat friend, Single-story home or any senior dogs also a large crate on site if needed.

About: Hi there! I’m Paige! I’m a 27-year-old, born-and-raised Floridian who recently moved to the Panhandle with my two Pomskys, Duke and Charley. My boys are 2 and 3, full of energy, and the absolute sweetest, so I’m very well-versed in cuddles, long walks, playtime, and keeping pups happy and entertained! I live in the Downtown Destin area and work remotely full-time, which means my weekdays are flexible and I have plenty of time throughout the day to give your pup some extra love and attention while you’re away. I’d love to help out fellow animal lovers in the area and make sure your dogs feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re gone. Whether they need a midday walk, some playtime, a potty break, or just a little company, I’m happy to help! Your pup will be treated like family! I work a fully remote position, so I’m home with my own dogs throughout the day and regularly take them out for walks and breaks. That flexibility also allows me to give your pup plenty of attention and care while you’re away! If your dog is more comfortable in their own home, I’m happy to spend time with them there while my dogs stay home. Or, if they’re social and would enjoy some company, they’re welcome to come hang out at my house with my two friendly boys, Duke and Charley! When visiting your home, I’ll always be respectful of your space, privacy, and any house rules you have in place. I want your pup to feel as comfortable and cared for as possible, so please let me know about any routines, favorite toys, preferred rooms, treats, or special instructions. The more I know, the better I can make their time with me feel just like home!
About: I'm just a big kid when it comes to dogs. I love dogs regardless of age, size, or breed. And they love me! Gentle enough to coax skiddish dogs into baths but still wild enough to run with them in the open fields. The only knock on me is I have trouble being firm because they melt my heart so much. I work full-time but I'm off 3 days a week; when I do work I don't start until 2pm, so scheduling will not be a problem. Dogs always gravitate to me and I to them. I believe they feel a safety and trust by nature; they are excellent judges of character.
“Another wonderful experience with Elizabeth taking care of our dog, Abby. It’s wonderful getting the updates, detail reports, and multiple photos. It’s easy to see how much Abby loves you. As I said before, you are part of our family! Thank you Elizabeth!”

About: I’ve taken care of a variety of dogs for as long as I can remember! From pit bulls to poodles. I currently have a German shepherd husky mix and she is the sweetest, gets along great with other dogs. I’m not currently working so I’m fully available to house sit and/or walk your animals as often as you need. I love dogs and cats! I currently live in an apartment with my doggie, kitty, and two year old son. He loves helping me feed our pets and take them outside to play and go on walks. We have a small fenced dog park in our apartment complex. We go there often. But I prefer to care for your pets in your home where they are comfortable. I’m unfortunately not allowed to have other pets in my home.
About: I have extensive experience caring for dogs of all sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I’ve cared for dogs both personally and professionally, including providing walks, feeding, fresh water, playtime, companionship, and administering medications when needed. I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions and making sure each dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I’ve cared for dogs with different routines and needs, from energetic pups who love long walks and playtime to dogs who prefer a slower pace and lots of cuddles. I’m attentive to their behavior and always prioritize their safety and well-being. I treat every pet as if they were my own and want both the pets and their owners to feel completely comfortable and confident in my care. I currently have a very flexible schedule and am usually available in the mornings, afternoons, or evenings. I can figure out a schedule that works best for you! I live in a safe apartment and will always have your dogs on a leash. I will make sure the dog is in the crate and safe if that is requested.
About: I feel like that animals are just drawn to me! I feel like that I am very gentle around all animals and able to give them the attention they need. I do work nearby and could even pop in after work on week nights! But I’m mostly available all day on Tuesday, Friday and Saturdays! I am in an apartment and there is a large dog park across from where I live and there is a large complex to walk around and pond.

About: Many years experience as a loving pet-parent (cats, dogs, bunnies, guinea pigs, birds and fish). I have worked as a dog-groomer as well. I am retired and no longer have pets but would enjoy helping out with yours. I am retired and have lots of time to play and care for your pets. I currently do not have pets after losing my 22 year old rat terrier last year but would treasure yours like my own. I live in an apartment without a fence but I can take your dog for walks as needed and can give them lots of my time and attention if they are here. Otherwise, I can come to you for their care.

“Lisa did an amazing job with Dash! The communicated well and quickly responded when I reached out to her. She listened and took all of our advise when checking in on Dash. When we got home, he seem more at ease than usual when we are away. So this was a plus!!! She did very well with him and I would recommend booking her to anyone! Thanks Lisa for taking very good care of Dash while we were away. ?”

About: Having Dogs around makes my world a better place. After my dog of 17 years, I’m not ready for forever but want to extend my heart to care for others. Vacations were always stressful to find someone so I want to help others to go and not worry. I have a very flexible schedule. I have been available for a lot of different needs of each client. I usually don’t have to leave the house except for a store run. My house is dog friendly. I have a special gated courtyard for outside time. I even have a hallway that can be gated if needed.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
