Pet care experience
Paws & Palms
Growing up on a 100-acre farm in Texas, animals weren’t just pets — they were family. Neighbors would drop strays on our land, and we never turned a single one away. Dogs, cats, you name it, they found a home with us. That upbringing shaped the way I care for animals, and at this point in my life, I’m pretty sure I need dogs just as much as they need me. ❤️ I’ve called beautiful Santa Rosa Beach home for the past three years, moving here in 2023 after becoming an empty nester. I work from home full-time, which means your dog gets a real companion — not just someone stopping by between errands. I’m here throughout the day to give them attention, affection, walks, playtime, and plenty of company. No crates, no long stretches alone, and no pup forgotten in the corner. Why I started Rover: After losing two beloved dogs within two years, I wasn’t ready to adopt again — but I also wasn’t ready for a life without dogs in it. Rover became the perfect answer. It gave me my daily dog fix while helping put two kids through college (they’re 21 and 24 now!). My son loved the experience so much that he became a Rover sitter too. Why I understand how hard it is to leave your dog: I never boarded my own dogs — not even with a veterinarian I trusted for more than a decade. The limited space, constant barking, and stress just didn’t sit right with me. I knew my dog would be anxious, which meant I would be anxious too. That experience is a big part of why I take caring for someone else’s dog so seriously. I want you to be able to leave knowing your pup is safe, comfortable, loved, and being treated like part of the family. I know firsthand how much that peace of mind matters. My kids and friends have always called me the “dog whisperer” because I seem to naturally connect with dogs — even the shy, nervous, or stubborn ones. Every dog has their own personality, and getting to know what makes each one feel safe and happy is one of my favorite parts of doing this. I’d love to welcome your pup into my home and give them their own little Santa Rosa Beach vacation while you enjoy yours. 🐕❤️

Safety, trust & environment
I treat all the animals I care for just like they are my own babies! I also respect the homeowners home and would also treat it just like my own and hopefully leave it just how it was when they left.

Lisa was amazing! She came through for my pups at the last minute, and I couldn’t be more grateful. She was reliable, responsive, and took great care of them on short notice. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. Thank you, Lisa, for helping us out when we needed it most! We would gladly book with you again. 🐾💕

Lisa was absolutely amazing with my two pups! She sent daily updates and photos, took them on walks, and truly put my mind at ease while I was traveling. It’s not easy leaving your pets, but I felt completely comfortable knowing they were in such great hands. I will definitely be booking with her again!

Lisa was just great with Ruby. She arrived a bit early and that gave us a chance to chat and for Ruby to get used to her. We appreciate that. We hope to have her sit with Ruby again and definitely recommend her!

Lisa is amazing with dogs! Our dog loved her from the minute they met. So thankful for her punctuality too. She is responsive and easy to book.

Schedule
I am fortunate enough to work from home, and I have a totally flexible schedule so I can easily hop over to walk your dog and let them out and hang out with them as long as needed. I often love the break from my scenery!
