About: I’ve taken care of a variety of dogs for as long as I can remember! From pit bulls to poodles. I currently have a German shepherd husky mix and she is the sweetest, gets along great with other dogs. I’m not currently working so I’m fully available to house sit and/or walk your animals as often as you need. I love dogs and cats! I currently live in an apartment with my doggie, kitty, and two year old son. He loves helping me feed our pets and take them outside to play and go on walks. We have a small fenced dog park in our apartment complex. We go there often. But I prefer to care for your pets in your home where they are comfortable. I’m unfortunately not allowed to have other pets in my home.
“Charlie was a lifesaver for us! We had a quick wedding trip and were close to missing our flight and she made sure our dogs would be taken care of until we could make it home. She always does an amazing job with our pups and they always have a great time.”

About: I was raised on a farm in the countryside. We had cats and dogs among other animals. Many of these I claimed as pets. I've owned several dogs in my lifetime and into their older years and currently have two cats which they think they're human. These little animals are part of our families. This makes them of great importance and priority. Their care should be taken just as seriously as each other. Listening to their needs and watching their habits they communicate. I take great care listening to the sounds and movement of a pet to discern what they are trying to communicate that they need. Flexibility is important when it comes to pet sitting. My children are almost adults now so I have more time to care for another family's pets. I do not have the room for a pet in my home but I have lots of room in my heart to take care of your pet in yours.
“Erin was absolutely wonderful watching our senior black lab at our house for three nights. She sent pictures and updates which made us feel more at ease on our getaway. Erin responds promptly & is very responsive. We would love & trust to have her watch Gracie again! 10/10 recommend Erin’s services.”

About: What makes me different? I’ve been caring for pets since I was 15 years old and have experience with animals of all ages, from young puppies and kittens to senior pets. I genuinely love spending time with animals, building trust, and creating a safe, comfortable environment while their owners are away. Whether it’s a short visit or an extended stay, I treat every pet like my own and enjoy every moment of caring for them As a college student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to work pet care visits around my classes. I can stop by throughout the day to check on, feed, play with, and care for your pets. If needed, I am also available for overnight stays and extended care. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and am happy to dedicate several hours to making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I am happy to stay in your home to provide comfort, companionship, and consistency for your pet while you’re away. I can follow your pet’s normal routine, including feeding schedules, playtime, walks, medications, and bedtime routines. Whether your pet is crate-trained or prefers to free roam, I will respect your preferences and ensure they are safe and comfortable. I am committed to going the extra mile to give your pet the attention, care, and security they deserve, treating them as if they were my own.

About: My furkids are family! I care for the pets that I take care of, like my own. I am dog/cat certified in First Aid & CPR through American Red Cross. I am also insured through Pet Care Insurance. For House Sitting/Overnight Stays I will be there from 5pm-7am. I have recurring dog walks/pet visits during the day. If you will need a dog walk or pet visit, those will have to be scheduled separately. We can discuss this during the Meet and Greet. 🐾 We have 2 Golden Retrievers, Niko & Cooper, who have totally different personalities and I love them for it! I am a Volunteer at Alaqua Animal Rescue. In the past we have had a Jack Russell, and 3 English Mastiffs. Our last one, Koda Bear, was 10 years old and 215 lbs when we lost him, October 2022. I have taken care of my grandpups and grandcats as well. I am a dog lover that has helped several rescues back home. I am an approved foster mom for puppies/dogs at a local shelter back home. I am outgoing, and a great communicator. I do meet & greets with new clients. I feel it's important to talk in person, meet your pet/s, and go over needs/wants. If you need someone to help out with pickup or dropoff to groomers and/or daycare, I am willing to communicate with you on details & charge. I LOVE my job...being able to do something I love! I am a stay-at-home dog mom. We are in an area where I don't know anyone, so would love the opportunity to take care of your dog/s and/or cat/s. I schedule meet & greets with new clients. Please let me know if your pet has special needs, or on medication. I will walk your dog/s, let them outside in a fenced in year and play with them, spend time in your home playing and loving on them, feed them if needed, and always make sure they have fresh water, and feed them if needed.
“Absolutely perfect! kind, gentle, calm, trusting. Our basset is 10 months, never been on vacation, rode for 9 hours, and had anxiety. Sheilya is the best and Burt loved her so much he cried when she left. If you want your pups loved on and cared for I highly recommend Sheilya.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Point Washington
Literally the best dog sitter in the world. It’s really hard to truly enjoy our vacations because we miss our dogs so much. Maria made sure we were sent pictures, videos, texts about how they are doing. She was truly amazing and allowed us to fully enjoy our trip. 10/10

Kate was absolutely amazing! We found her as a last minute sitter and could not have been happier or felt more comfortable leaving our pup with her. If you are ever in need of a sitter who cares deeply about your animal, has great communication, and is trustworthy, I highly recommend booking with Kate! And our dog was obsessed with her right from the start which doesn’t always happen! 5/5 stars for sure!

Janessa was absolutely amazing! We needed someone to stay at our house with our boys and she was willing to come in to care for them. She sent us daily pictures without us requesting them while not inundating us with constant messages. It was clear she cared for and loved on our boys. We were at peace knowing Janessa was with them. She is kind, caring and intelligent....all amazing qualities in a caregiver!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Point Washington walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Point Washington maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Point Washington choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
