About: I adore all fur babies. I have had my dog/son for 11 years now and a Aussie girl for 1.5 years. I take care of them better than I take care of myself. All of my friends and family know how deeply I love and care for pets and always call me to watch theirs. I work from home full time so I have a lot of flexibility. I do have my own two dogs that I have to work around when scheduling. When it comes to looking after pets, whether they're in my own home or a client's, I make sure to give them all the love and care they need. Following their routines and giving them the same TLC as if they were my own. From walks to belly rubs, I'm there to make sure they're happy and content, no matter where they are!
“Karissa was an incredible pet sitter. Very responsive, sent lots of updates and cared well for my elderly dogs. I would highly recommend her. Very thankful we found her!”

“We had a great experience with John watching our 2 dogs and cat. They loved him and we felt comfortable leaving them in his care. He kept us up to date with pics daily. We highly recommend him!”

About: I've cared for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know each one. From energetic puppies who love to play to senior dogs who prefer a slower pace, I provide patient, attentive care tailored to them. I'm reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to keeping your pet's routine as consistent as possible. I understand how much our dogs mean to us, so you can count on me to treat yours with the same love, respect, and care I'd want for my own. I'm currently a stay at home mom, so I'll have plenty of time to fit your furry family members into my schedule. Can't wait to meet your best friends! I will care for your animals, in your home/yard, and follow all guidelines you have, to keep your animals happy and safe! I'm happy to provide pictures during their playtime and care, as well as any other communication.
“Thankful for Lucia’s care of my senior pup while I was away! She was communicative with updates & photos each day, which I appreciated so much. My pup had some digestive upset during the time she was looking after him and she was very helpful & understanding in dealing with it. I came home to a content pup asleep on the couch and my home was well kept! Thank you again, Lucia. Wouldn’t hesitate to reach out again for care if needed!”

“Maria was absolutely perfect! She was so loving with my dogs, took lots of photos regularly, and even straitened up and cleaned around the house. Highly recommend and I will surely be using Maria’s services again!”

“Erin was absolutely wonderful watching our senior black lab at our house for three nights. She sent pictures and updates which made us feel more at ease on our getaway. Erin responds promptly & is very responsive. We would love & trust to have her watch Gracie again! 10/10 recommend Erin’s services.”
About: Hi! I’m a reliable, caring pet sitter who offers dog walking, drop-in visits, house sitting, and boarding — both in my home and in yours. I truly love animals and treat every pet like part of my family. I’m very responsive, flexible, and available for last-minute and short-notice bookings. My goal is to make pet care easy and stress-free for you — and fun for your pet 🐾 Whether your pet needs a quick walk, overnight care, or full-time attention while you’re away, I focus on keeping them safe, comfortable, and happy. I send regular photo and message updates so you always know how your pet is doing.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! Elisabeth took such great care of our dog, Murphy, while we were away. She kept us updated with frequent messages and photos, which helped us relax and really enjoy our trip. Murphy looked so happy and comfortable the whole time! We came home to a calm, content pup and a tidy house. We’d absolutely trust her to watch him again!! Highly recommend!”

About: My furkids are family! I care for the pets that I take care of, like my own. I am dog/cat certified in First Aid & CPR through American Red Cross. I am also insured through Pet Care Insurance. For House Sitting/Overnight Stays I will be there from 5pm-7am. I have recurring dog walks/pet visits during the day. If you will need a dog walk or pet visit, those will have to be scheduled separately. We can discuss this during the Meet and Greet. 🐾 We have 2 Golden Retrievers, Niko & Cooper, who have totally different personalities and I love them for it! I am a Volunteer at Alaqua Animal Rescue. In the past we have had a Jack Russell, and 3 English Mastiffs. Our last one, Koda Bear, was 10 years old and 215 lbs when we lost him, October 2022. I have taken care of my grandpups and grandcats as well. I am a dog lover that has helped several rescues back home. I am an approved foster mom for puppies/dogs at a local shelter back home. I am outgoing, and a great communicator. I do meet & greets with new clients. I feel it's important to talk in person, meet your pet/s, and go over needs/wants. If you need someone to help out with pickup or dropoff to groomers and/or daycare, I am willing to communicate with you on details & charge. I LOVE my job...being able to do something I love! I am a stay-at-home dog mom. We are in an area where I don't know anyone, so would love the opportunity to take care of your dog/s and/or cat/s. I schedule meet & greets with new clients. Please let me know if your pet has special needs, or on medication. I will walk your dog/s, let them outside in a fenced in year and play with them, spend time in your home playing and loving on them, feed them if needed, and always make sure they have fresh water, and feed them if needed.

About: I’ve taken care of all types of fur babies since I could remember, my mom would literally always have animals and dogs growing up. I am extremely organized, love going by a set schedule/instructions, go on many walks, and would love the extra company! I currently work full time in a clinic, Monday-Thursday 7-4p and Fridays 7-12p. I am off every weekend! Never work any holidays. My apartment has an enclosed dog park with a very safe/peaceful neighborhood to walk. I have one fur baby to keep them company who loves all and every one and fur baby.
About: I’m comfortable caring for birds, rodents, cats, and dogs of all sizes! I’m also able to tend to reptiles though my experience there is limited. I work for myself and set my own schedule. I am primarily a personal shopper and a dive master so I’m able to adjust my schedule to fit your needs. I think it’s least disruptive to animals when they can remain in a familiar environment. Therefore, I prefer to handle pet care from the client’s home. I am available for quick visits or longer overnight stays and I am happy to provide several references upon request.
“Cassidy was amazing!! She stayed in our home, is so kind, played with our English bulldog Eevee a ton, and she is a strong communicator. I will definitely be booking her again. She really went the extra mile.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Freeport walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Freeport maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Freeport choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Freeport. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
