“Heather is so attentive and such a great sitter. She stayed in my home and gave my girls lots of love and attention. She was patient and caring and I knew they were in good hands. I highly recommend her!”

“Lisa took excellent care of our senior Frenchie. Our dog takes doily medication and becomes very anxious when we travel. When we returned from our trip, our dog acted as if we had never been away, and our house was in the same clean condition as when we left.”

“John was awesome! Super communicative and very responsive when I would text asking for updates! My pups seemed to love him and my house was safe in his hands! 10/10 recommend!”

About: I’ve taken care of a variety of dogs for as long as I can remember! From pit bulls to poodles. I currently have a German shepherd husky mix and she is the sweetest, gets along great with other dogs. I’m not currently working so I’m fully available to house sit and/or walk your animals as often as you need. I love dogs and cats! I currently live in an apartment with my doggie, kitty, and two year old son. He loves helping me feed our pets and take them outside to play and go on walks. We have a small fenced dog park in our apartment complex. We go there often. But I prefer to care for your pets in your home where they are comfortable. I’m unfortunately not allowed to have other pets in my home.

About: What makes me different? I’ve been caring for pets since I was 15 years old and have experience with animals of all ages, from young puppies and kittens to senior pets. I genuinely love spending time with animals, building trust, and creating a safe, comfortable environment while their owners are away. Whether it’s a short visit or an extended stay, I treat every pet like my own and enjoy every moment of caring for them As a college student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to work pet care visits around my classes. I can stop by throughout the day to check on, feed, play with, and care for your pets. If needed, I am also available for overnight stays and extended care. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and am happy to dedicate several hours to making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I am happy to stay in your home to provide comfort, companionship, and consistency for your pet while you’re away. I can follow your pet’s normal routine, including feeding schedules, playtime, walks, medications, and bedtime routines. Whether your pet is crate-trained or prefers to free roam, I will respect your preferences and ensure they are safe and comfortable. I am committed to going the extra mile to give your pet the attention, care, and security they deserve, treating them as if they were my own.
“Ale was great! She booked on short notice and spent the weekend with our pups! She was very attentive and caring with them to the point they almost seemed disappointed that we were back home! :)”

“Fabricia did such a great job taking care of Charlie and Chloe. They fell in love with her and cried when she left. She even did extras and help take care of my home while I was away. She clearly has a giant heart, and a great love for animals.”

“Ashley is amazing! I don't want to say how great she is because I don't want to share her!😜 My 2 dogs were so well taken care of & my house was spotless when we got home! Highly recommend!”

“Kimber was so sweet to our girl, Knoxx! She was always quick to respond to any messages we sent and wanted to make sure that our dog was well taken care of! She sent several pictures and even treated her to a nice long walk at the park! We cannot thank her enough!”

“Karissa was an incredible pet sitter. Very responsive, sent lots of updates and cared well for my elderly dogs. I would highly recommend her. Very thankful we found her!”

About: Hello! I have had and cared for many different types of pets - dogs, cats, ferrets, turtles, bunnies, hamsters, Guinea pigs, bearded dragons, and fish my entire life! I also have experience with many stages of a pet’s life including puppies, training, seniors, sick/treatment care, and more. I have volunteer experience at Alaqua Animal Refuge in Freeport, FL. This provides me with the training to work with dogs that are anxious, abused, lonely, energetic, scared, and reactive to people and other dogs. My husband and I are retired and empty-nesters. So, I have plenty of flexibility to play/walk with your animals and do drop-ins as needed! I will provide professional references upon request. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! Whether you live locally or if you are just vacationing and need someone to check in on your furry friend while you are soaking up the sun, I am here for you. I will send pics too! 🙂 I believe pets are part of the family, and treat them as such. If I am lucky enough, your fur baby will get lots of love and attention from me and all their needs will be met! You can trust that I will treat and care for your pets as if they are my own. All instructions will be followed and I will leave your home in the same condition if not better as when I arrived. Please communicate to me if your animal has any preferences or special needs so I can accommodate your loved ones and give them the best experience! I was blessed to retire early and my children have left the nest, so I have lots of time to spend with all fur babies!!! :) I have a fenced yard and two dogs. I am willing to discuss your dog staying at my home depending on their size and age.
“So we had an unexpected trip to Louisiana come up for my father in laws funeral. I was at a loss and searched Rover for a suitable sitter that could handle our kennel load, which would include being at the house most of the time due to Fergus having severe separation anxiety from me. It wasn’t long before I found Sheliya!! I was thrilled that she would stay over and do her work from our house. And believe me she came through like a charm…she handled our guys (who are big….big) no problem. And they loved her. I was thrilled to get updates and pics of walks and quiet time. Sheliya is a sweetheart and her love for animals is amazing….she even took on our outdoor garage cats that showed up and the squirrels that knock on the windows for nuts. These guys were spoiled with extra walks and playtime in the back yard…cuddles and doggie massages!! We will definitely have Sheliya back to watch over our babies. Thank you she she!!! We all love you!! Fiona, Pia & Fergus!!!”

About: Growing up in Rural America afforded me the opportunity to begin caring for and developing a passion for animals at an early age that has carried into adulthood. I intentionally avoid “overbooking” ensuring your pet receives all of the love and care necessary in your absence. Individualized care and attention are the highest priorities. Separation anxiety is real among dogs. I’m here to ensure you fur babies receive all of the love and attention required while you’re away. Whether it’s vacation or work related, I’ve got you covered!
About: What sets me apart is the genuine love and care I have for dogs. I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and honestly can’t imagine life without them. They bring so much joy, companionship, and healing, and I truly enjoy spending time with them. I’ve cared for a variety of breeds over the years, including a Labrador Retriever, two Pomeranians, a Papillon, and now my own Mini Poodle. Growing up around dogs has given me experience with different personalities, energy levels, and care needs, and I’ve learned that every dog deserves patience, kindness, and individualized attention. I’m dependable, attentive, and will treat your dog like one of my own. Whether your pup loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or sticking to a familiar routine, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. My goal is simple: to give your dog a fun, safe, and loving experience every time we’re together. Pet care fits perfectly into my weekly routine! I currently work Tuesday through Saturday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, which means I’m available most mornings, late mornings, and early afternoons for walks, drop-in visits, and quality time with your pets. I’m also available on Sundays and Mondays with even more flexibility. Caring for animals is something I genuinely enjoy, so it doesn’t feel like work to me. I love being active, spending time outdoors, and making sure every pet feels safe, loved, and cared for while their owner is away. I believe every pet is happiest when they feel safe, comfortable, and their routine stays as normal as possible. Whether I’m caring for your pet in your home or taking them on a walk, I’ll follow your instructions closely to make sure they receive the care they’re used to. I’ll make sure they have fresh water, plenty of exercise, playtime, affection, and potty breaks while always keeping their safety my top priority. I’m also happy to reinforce any routines or commands you use at home and will treat both your pet and your home with the same respect and care I would my own. You’ll receive regular updates and photos, so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, loved, and in good hands.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Laguna Beach
Ava is the absolute best! We made sure to do everything in our sweet needy girl’s routine and gave her lots of love. Our dog usually has stomach issues with changes and she had no issues while we’re gone all week. She is quick to respond and gives thorough updates with pictures. Would recommend her to anyone!

She is the absolute best sitter!!!! I don't leave my dogs often and usually have only left them with family...but wanted to take vacation. My dogs absolutely loved Heather and I enjoyed seeing them being their doggie self while I was on my vacation. She is a true blessing and I had no stress knowing they were spoiled and in good hands! We have found our furever fam and will only have her watch our dogs when we go away! 🐾 ❤️

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Laguna Beach on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Laguna Beach walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Laguna Beach maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Laguna Beach choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Laguna Beach. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
