About: I’ve helped my family take care of our pets my entire life. Growing up, my neighbors and family friends trusted me to take care of their pets while they were out of town. I can administer medicine to your furry best friends and I am a fast learner if I need to be trained a special way to administer the medicine. I have cared for high maintenance, elderly pets, and puppies with gentle care. I genuinely love animals and hope to hang out with some. I am flexible. I have a hybrid work schedule and helping new neighbors take care of their pets is my idea of a good time! I am an avid walker and I am patient. I care about animals, so I make sure I walk dogs earlier or later, when it is not too hot for their paws. I take client instructions and tips for treating their pet seriously, regarding temperament, likeliness to run off while on a walk, etc. I like to give pets ample attention so they are less anxious while their family is not home. I give pets space if they are giving off the vibe of wanting to be left alone, after I make sure their basic needs (and more!) are met.
“Sara is becoming a part of our village! She’s attentive, responsive, and caring. It’s such a relief to have someone who can stand in when you’re away to handle and care for your child with the same love or eve more! Until next time, Dixon.”

“Eileen was great. She took time to communicate with me and meet the kitties. She spent time with them and sent photos. Im very grateful for her help watching my kitties.”

“Very responsive when I needed to have my dingo watched at the last minute. He made sure he had all the info he needed and left me assured before I left cell service all weekend. Came back to a very pleased dog and that’s what matters. Thanks Joshua!”
About: Hi, I’m Whitney. I bring a warm, trustworthy presence and years of experience caring for dogs of all sizes and energy levels. Whether it’s a walk around the block or hanging out at home, I meet each animal with playfulness, attunement, and care. I’m also a professional photographer, so you’ll get great photographs along the way! I take your pet’s safety seriously and treat every animal like my own. I look forward to meeting this very important part of your life. I have daily availability for 30-60 min walks, whether weekdays or weekends. I love boarding dogs at my house and driving for drop-ins for cats & dogs. I love photographing all of the beloved pets! I follow each dog’s routine closely, pay attention to their body language, and adjust to their individual needs. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of their space and provide regular updates. My goal is always to create a calm, safe, and positive experience for both the dog and the owner.
About: ***Please be sure to fill out your pet's entire profile and please do not ask me to contact you on an external phone number until you have been established as a client ; All initial communication must be through the Rover app or website*** Hi I'm Lana! I am trained in animal care and I have been pet sitting (mostly dogs) for more than 10 years. I think dogs are really special beings and beautiful companions. I enjoy being able to give pet parents peace of mind that their loved ones are being looked after with the utmost care and compassion. I have cared for dogs of various sizes, temperaments and ages. My naturally calm and patient disposition works well with most, especially dogs that may need more time and attention, such as shy dogs or older dogs. I am available for drop-in visits, overnights and walks. For walks and drop-in visits, I still have space open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Mondays and Fridays are packed. If you have any questions about specific dates and times please feel free to send me a message here on Rover. I prefer to care for pets in their own home because it offers them a sense of security during a difficult emotional time while their humans are away. **PLEASE NOTE** I am only offering overnights to existing clients of 4-6 weeks or more, I feel it is important for me and your animal companions to get to know each other before their family goes away.
About: Hello and howdy! My name is Tim and I have landed in Santa Fe after traveling the country for a few months, working remotely on freelance projects as I prepare to start an art therapy masters program this fall. I am indebted to animals for all they have done for me and taught me over the years. Currently, I have a lack of fuzzy friends in my life, so would be delighted to spend a little time with your critters. I hold a valid red cross dog and cat first aid/cpr certification, have experience as a pet sitter through Trusted Housesitters, have had many varieties of pets throughout my life, volunteer at the animal shelter, and was a professional pet sitter/pet care provider in Asheville, North Carolina. Here is a review of my work from the pet care business owner, Caroline, there: "As a pet sitting business owner, I can confidently say that Tim is one of the best! Tim is one of those rare people who consistently goes above and beyond in his care, without hesitation. His love for animals is genuine and immediately apparent. He’s also an incredibly talented artist, and if you’re one of his lucky clients, you might even receive a funny yet impressive portrait of your fur babies. A true gem of a gift you will want to laminate and put on your wall! Tim was previously part of my team, and I truly miss having him. He was one of our clients’ favorite house sitters for a reason, he’s just that good. Don’t hesitate for a second to hire him. And if anyone would like a personal reference, I’m more than happy to speak with you directly. You can contact me through the email listed on my business website, WNC Pet Care." I am also an experienced gardener and plant lover. In addition, I am currently working on a graphic novel about a canine revolution, so a portrait of your pooch might appear in the story :). I'm a remote freelance editor and illustrator so have a flexible schedule and just need a comfortable place with internet connection to be able to work. I typically take dogs on 3 walks a day, and like to take breaks from whatever I'm doing to pet them and tell them how cute they are. A little playtime as well. With cats I try to do a little play break a couple times a day if they show interest.
“Chase is amazing! A true dog lover. My sweet boy went right to him upon meeting. And he’s a picky boy! Very professional and kind! If we’re in the area again, will surely request Chase! Thank you.”

About: I love meeting new pups and helping them live their best life! Safety is first and I will communicate with you to make sure your dog enjoys their walk and has all their physical or medical needs accounted for. Having two of my own dogs I know how important it is to have peace of mind! My background in addition to pet care and sitting has also involved working with herding dogs on ranches as well as many years of horse, goat, and chicken care! Animals have always been a part of my life and I look forward to using my experience to help you and your animals. SAFETY, COMFORT, and FUN are my highest priorities! I work as a full time artist and walk dogs part time. Typically Sunday through Wednesday are my available days! I’m happy to accommodate your schedule as much as possible. Safety is the priority. Before any walks I will check with you about any safety concerns such as whether your dog has behavioral issues, escapes out the door or out of their collar, or any joint pain or physical limitations they may have. I will tend to stick to routes they are familiar with as this is usually the safest route.

Hannah is my go-to for kitty sitting! My cats love her and even my shy boy comes out of his shell to enjoy playtime and pets with her. She is reliable and easy to communicate with and my cats and home had great, happy energy after Hannah's visits. I highly recommend her

This is the third time April has helped take care of our three cats — she is really the best. We love all the pictures she shares and detailed updates; she knows our cats so well now and makes a point to play with each of them one-on-one. I can’t say enough about how kind she is and how conscientious. We trust her completely to take care of the fur babies and the house. So grateful to have found her on Rover and we will be booking again. Thank you for everything, April!

Gavin is the best sitter we’ve ever had! He’s attentive, communicative, great with dogs, kind and patient - our incredibly hesitant husky even warmed up to him, which is almost impossible. I can see why Gavin is so popular and we will not hesitate to rebook him.

Once again Amanda was a wonderful sitter. Our kitty was clearly so relaxed when we returned from our travels. We got updates and photos, and she even took out the dirty litter on her final visit before we got home. Amanda is our go-to kitty sitter from here on out.

Elizabeth had a quick response to our last-minute need for a drop-in while we were visiting from out of town. She already had great reviews so we felt we could trust her with our baby. She followed all of our instructions? Was very communicative, and took extra care to make sure our girl felt comfortable and safe with a new person. Leaving your baby while out of town can be super stressful when you don’t have a sitter you know, but she took the stress out of it. Thank you!

Lucas is great and I definitely recommend him. This is the second time we have used his services to take care of our kitty while we are away. He provides lots of updates and he has excellent communication. I always feel at ease that he is taking the best care of our pet

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
