“This is the second time I have booked with Raymond, and he is outstanding! He consistently goes above and beyond for my pets, even washing the bed and towels on his own. He is very thoughtful, and I truly appreciate all of his extra touches.”

“Lise makes traveling a breeze. We don’t worry about the house or our senior dog. We’ve used her multiple times and wouldn’t hesitate to have her care for Luna anytime.”

“Vicki was AMAZING! She came over with a pen and notepad and took meticulous notes on the care of our home and pup! She kept us posted while we were away and left our home SPOTLESS. I’d use and recommend Vicki a million times over!”

“Oliver is amazing! He was incredibly patient with my shy, slow to warm dog Tulip. I am super grateful for his friendly professional attentiveness and meeting with us 4x before the actual dog home sit days to get to know her. She bonded after the 5 nights with him. A very heart-warming successful Rover experience. So relieved to have a dependable and local dog sitter. Wr highly recommend Oliver!! 🤍🐶”

“Emmeline was great! I felt comfortable leaving my fur babies with her after the first meeting and I can back with them in great shape. She also gives great recaps of the day.”

“Mona did a fantastic job watching Copper for an extended period of time. Even though Copper is a larger dog she did not have any issues, and sent plenty of pictures and updates. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable house/dogsitter!”
“We can only enjoy traveling when we know that our fuzzy friend is being well cared for and having fun too. That is how we felt leaving Rusty with Joshua. Also, Rover does a great job with its software, making communication simple and easy.”
“Emma was so amazing with our pets this past weekend! She was so patient with my two chihuahuas who are often nervous around new friends. She left us great updates with pictures and did many long walks over the weekend! I am so glad I chose Emma to watch them and will absolutely book her again in the future!”

“Bianca was outstanding! She house/pet sat for our two dogs while we were away for 10 days. We received daily updates and photos. She let us know details about the dogs and our house was perfect when we returned. Her experience with animals and understanding of behaviors is clear. Would highly recommend her!!”

“Vivienne was very accommodating, responsive, responsible and capable taking care of Holly. Huskies can be a handful and Vivienne handled everything dog-gone well. We would highly recommend her based upon our experience.”

“Danielle S. was a wonderful dog sitter! She was reliable, responsible, and dependable from start to finish. Most importantly, my dogs absolutely loved her and were clearly very comfortable in her care. I also really appreciated that she honored the commitment and didn’t cancel at the last minute, which unfortunately can be a concern with pet sitters. I would definitely recommend her and would happily have her care for my dogs again!”

“She hit it off with my dogs right away, which was a pretty big green flag. My dogs are in kind of a unique situation where they needed to follow some extra rules to keep them separate and safe, and she did a great job of maintaining that. She sent pictures and photos of the pups while I was gone too, and it was really cute to see them having fun.”

About: I offer thoughtful, detail oriented pet care with a strong focus on consistency, safety, and communication. I’m comfortable caring for senior pets, managing routines, and providing a calm presence for animals that may be anxious or sensitive to change. I am also comfortable with medication management. I take the responsibility of being in someone’s home seriously and aim to create a seamless experience both for pets and their owners. You can expect clear communication, reliability, and a high level of respect for your space. My dog, Tessie, is so important to me so I treat your pets with as much love and care that I would want her to have. My work experience includes firefighter/paramedic, ER nurse, clinic work, and am certified in Pet First Aid. I am the Clinical Director at a local free clinic. This allows me to have flexible but predictable hours each week. Because of this I can provide consistent, punctual visits with compassionate care for your pets. For house sitting I can make mid day visits so that your pets are not alone for longer than needed. I cater each experience to the needs of you and your pet. I prefer to have clear communication of your preferences so that I can ensure that you are as happy with the visit as your pets are. For house sitting, I stay in the home so pets can remain in their familiar space with minimal disruption. I follow their usual feeding, walking, and medication schedules, provide companionship throughout the day and evening, and ensure the home is cared for as well (lights, plants, mail, basic tidiness). My goal is to maintain a calm, consistent presence so pets feel safe and relaxed while their owners are away. For in home drop-ins, I provide feeding, fresh water, litter box or yard clean up, medications if needed, and quality time with each pet. I tailor each visit to the pet’s energy level and personality including playtime, short walks, or quiet companionship. I also provide updates after each visit so owners feel connected and reassured. For dog walking, I focus on safe, structured walks that match your dog’s pace and needs. I prioritize leash safety, positive reinforcement, and a calm walking experience. Walks can include neighborhood routes or familiar areas your dog enjoys, or local dog parks, and I always ensure they return home settled, hydrated, and comfortable.
“Whitney was great! The dogs loved her and she took very good care with our home while we were gone. We would not hesitate to use her again on another upcoming trip. Bonus, her photos and updates on the dogs were amazing!”

“Karen-Joyce did a wonderful job pet sitting for us on a long weekend trip! She was very detailed in learning about our needs beforehand, and very communicative. It's easy to tell how great she is with dogs. While this was our first time using Karen-Joyce as a sitter, we immediately felt confident after our meet & greet and had no hesitations. She left our house clean and the dogs were happy and well cared for! Definitely recommend :)”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Santa Fe
Vivienne just cared for our 2.5 year old dog Piglet at our home for 4 days and I cannot say enough about how incredible she is. Piglet loved Vivienne from the moment she met her during the meet-and-greet, and so did we! Viv is communicative, responsible, on-time, and super dog-oriented. She followed all of our instructions with precision, took great care of Piglet, and left our home immaculate. Thanks, Vivienne!

Laurie was a dream come true. When a sudden, unexpected trip pulled our family away in the midst of house construction, we were in a tizzy and had never used Rover. Laurie arrived like a fairy godmother and took our cats in her care. The workmen let them escape, accidentally left them in a room without their litterbox, food, or water, and various other potential disasters - and each time she handled the emergencies with care, consideration, and common sense. Her communication was great, and she left our home cleaner than it was when she got there. By the time we came home two weeks later, our cats were cuddling with her every night and were in great spirits in spite of everything. We will certainly be asking her to come back!

Anna was wonderful with Dunkin! He gave her a little bit of an attitude at first, but she handled it with so much patience and kindness. It was clear she genuinely cared for him and knew exactly how to work with his personality. I felt completely at ease knowing he was in good hands. I would absolutely book with Anna again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter!

Lis a remarkable woman. She came a day early to meet Madison. After about 20 minutes it became quite apparent she and Maddie would be a great match. Each day we received photos and updates on our dog. In all she seemed happy and at ease. We returned home to a relaxed joyful dog and an immaculate house. Lis is a treasure.
David is simply the best! We came to Santa Fe from Denver for a few days (Monday-Thursday) and we have 7 and 8 year old Border Terriers. Our male has epilepsy, and we do not leave him alone, so we hired David to watch them. David came on Monday night, Tuesday day, Tuesday night, Wednesday day and Wednesday night so that we could go out to dinner, go to the spa, etc. He stayed for several hours at a time, which was a big ask, especially since he has his own pup, but we couldn't ask for a better experience with him. He arrived on time or early, walked them, played with them, administered medications, gave them snacks and loved them! He sent us lots of videos and photos and updates, so we knew they were being taken care of and meds given, etc. He is also just a lovely person, and we really enjoyed getting to know him. He has a calming energy which was great for my boy with epilepsy. We won't hesitate to use him again if we go back to Santa Fe. Thank you so much David!

Vicki is fantastic! Our flight back was delayed and Vicki was able to stay at our house for the rest of the day until we were on our way back. We are so happy with the care she gave our dogs and will definitely book her for all future stays. Could not be happier with the entire experience.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Santa Fe on Rover is $66.6 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Santa Fe walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Santa Fe maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Santa Fe choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
