About: I grew up with doberman pinchers, my last dog was a cockapoo, and I've cared for every sized dog in between. I believe lots of exercise, praise, pets, and treats make happy dogs. I'm experienced in medication administration and I have a fully fenced yard. I work out of the house from 9am to 10:30am weekdays (teaching at UNM) so I'm home to be able to play, go for walks, and be flexible to accommodate the needs of your dog during most of the day. Whether your dog is high energy or laid back, they'll be content in my care. I do not currently have any pets but I have lots of squirrels, chipmunks, and birds to chase in my yard. I live in a great area for walks, and if they are the adventurous kind, we can even venture into the canyon! I have two kids who are usually in school from 8am to 2:30pm. They are 4 and 9 years old and will play with any willing dog. My kids can read dog body language and are cautious with any dog they aren't familiar with. I also have business insurance for in-home pet care, just in case!
“Theresa and Ivan were wonderful cat sitters! They did a very thorough zoom meeting prior to their visits to discuss every detail about my cats. I received really detailed updates and lots of photos which always makes me feel better when away. They want to make sure they do everything that you would do on a daily basis as the owner. Will definitely be using them in the future.”
“Josh was very communicative, reaching out when there were concerns or questions. Two of my cats have special needs, so its important to me that someone who is watching them is willing to reach out for guidance when things are amiss. My cats seemed to really enjoy their time with Josh, they were well-fed, exercised, and got the perfect amount of attention for their needs. I would book Josh again in a heartbeat.”

“Susan did a wonderful job caring for our cat! We will definitely use her services again, if we should need a sitter. Thank you Susan for all the pictures you took, and for taking the time to play with Luna. She was one happy kitty, when we returned home.”

“I am grateful to Diane and her daughter for taking such good care of my cat while I was away for three nights. They were great about feeding, making sure she had enough water and cleaning the litter box. Thank you!”

“We had a last-minute travel and Jess was able to do a drop in visit for our cat with a one-week short notice. Fast response and great communication, and my cat seems very happy!”

About: I've owned and taken care of dogs since I was 12. Ive helped friends potty train and crate train puppies. I cared for my senior dog for many years before he passed in 2024. Ive fostered animals through animal shelters as well as helped rehome friends and family pets when needed. Ive taken care of friends pets as well as family. If you have any further questions please dont hesitate to ask! (: I am a stay at home mom. We wake up early and I usually stay up late tidying and taking care of our other pets. We only leave for short periods during the day. Your pet and my children will not be left alone at anytime. I have a large fenced back yard. I also have a friendly medium sized dog named Halo who would love to keep your companion company. I can crate over night or during breaks as long as you bring an appropriate sized kennel for them. I may have one on hand if it is a weekly appointment.
“Very accommodating, especially for my last-minute booking! The initial meet-and-greet went well. She sent photo updates even though I didn't have phone service. I know my kitty was well cared for in my absence!”

About: A little about me, I’m currently serving active duty in the military but I miss dog sitting. I have 12 yrs experience with most dog breeds and I try to make my schedule as flexible as possible. Your pets will be in great hands. Also if you have a cat I can gladly sit for you still but if they are being boarded in my home I will need them to have their essentials as I do not own any cat products. I have experienced with senior dogs as well and I treat them a bit more gently so they feel comfortable. I do not have a lot of experience with special needs pets but I can still provide for them. All pets are welcomed. Available Monday through Friday 5pm to 7pm. Saturday all day and Sunday 12pm to 4pm. I can also try to work with your schedule and needs. I have a small fenced backyard. Two corgis. One is friendly and the other is scared of our dogs. If needed boarding in my home I will keep them separated.
About: I am an avid pet-loving Minnesota native who would love to watch your pet & house-sit while you are away. I moved to NM in August and can't wait to continue to meet new pets! I do exceptional dog walking, dog and cat sitting, and house sitting as needed at clients homes. I take great pride in my pet-sitting job and hold it to a high standard regarding time spent with pets, walks, and cuddles. Pet care has been a crucial part of my early twenties lifestyle. I have always been an animal lover, but cannot own a pet myself due to where I live. If I am able to watch someone's furry friends, it makes my day! I keep pets food schedules as close to what they are used to as possible, as well as stay overnight, play with them, and take them on walks. I love to explore my clients backyard when I am pet sitting, whether that be a trail to follow, a pond to walk around, or a neighborhood to admire. I am an avid walker, so we will certainty go on a long walk. I am always mindful of traffic and keep pets on their leash, unless specific directions are given. Safety is my top priority.
“Dena was put on this earth to care for animals and nobody can convince me otherwise!! Our puppies absolutely adore her and our old girl is relaxed, comfortable, and happy with her. For your focus on our pups safety and interactions, your extraordinary communication abilities, and for keeping an eye out on our house and package deliveries when you don’t have to, thank you Dena!!!! We are so lucky to have met you!!!!”

About: I’ve cared for animals since I was seven years old and have hands-on experience with pets of all ages and needs. Since age ten, I’ve fostered neonatal kittens requiring around-the-clock feeding, monitoring, and care. I also have experience house sitting for family friends, often staying over a week at a time to care for their pets, maintain routines, and ensure their homes and animals are safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I’m a high school student, and my classes run from 8:30 AM to 2:40 PM on weekdays. Outside of school hours, I’m fully available for pet care, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnight stays. I’m able to provide attentive care before and after school and follow pets’ routines closely. Pets are not left alone for long periods during the weekends. On school days, they may be alone during my class hours, but I provide care before and immediately after school. I make sure pets get attention, exercise, feeding, and companionship throughout the day and evening.
“Isaiah was great with our dog! He administered medications, gave him lots of exercise and stimulation, and made a point of clarifying anything he was unsure about. He asked lots of great questions when he met our dog, and was interested the dog’s preferences.”

“Brittany did great with Rocko who is a new year old from the shelter. She even taught him to high five and lay down! Would definitely recommend and will continue to use her services.”

“Chase was absolutely amazing with our dog. He took care of her very well and made sure that she was as happy as possible. He also took stunning photos of our dog during the stay.”

Susan is a true animal person! She gave our very shy cat all the care and love we could hope for, ensuring Willow’s physical wellbeing and also, with great thoughtfulness and sensitivity, meeting our kitty’s needs for interaction and affection. We give her 10 out of 5 stars (Willow would even give her 10 out of 5 raw fish) 🐾❤️😻

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
