“Teresa is absolutely wonderful. She welcomes the dogs right into her home, and you can feel how much she genuinely enjoys having them there. The dogs spend their days playing in her backyard, lounging by the pool, and getting attention from both her and her husband. It’s a fun, safe, happy atmosphere, and you can tell the dogs truly love being there. I highly recommend Teresa.”

“Emily and Aaron were such great dog sitters, even over Christmas holiday! They sent pictures of my pet every day..he looked so happy! I would highly recommend them to anyone. Thanks again!!”

“Tia was great, and very accessible. We left Bailey with her for two nights and received plenty of photos. Bailey was relaxed and happy when we picked her up, we will definatley be using Tia again in the future!”

“As an overly attached dog mom, leaving my puppy behind is never easy—but Mike’s place is the one spot I trust completely. When I have to be away, I know Cooper is not just safe, but genuinely happy there. He gets tons of playtime, comes home completely worn out, and is always excited to go back—he literally runs in circles when he sees his overnight bag come out! Mike is a true professional, and I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for peace of mind when leaving their pup.”

“We have a very soft-tempered three (3) year old female German Shepard who has never seen a boarding facility. We have used Rover on 2 other occasions with her, so needless to say, we are "picky and fussy" about who we entrust to care for our dog. We found Natasha and Gaspare on Rover and began a discussion. After a meet and greet, we knew that Timber would be well-cared for. Natasha's communication skills are above-par. She is prompt and very responsive. While we were away, she returned all text messages and sent us updates on Timber's day, with photos included. Natasha and Gaspare have very calm demeanors. They do not get easily excited and that calmness is a great character trait in a Rover sitter! When we picked Timber up, we were supposed to pick her up the morning of December 26th; however, we flew in to Ft. Myers on Christmas Day. We really wanted to get our baby back and while realizing it was Christmas, I thought I would ask if it was at all possible to retrieve Timber early, on Christmas Day evening. She replied immediately that this was no problem at all, and when we picked up the dog, she had Timber's belongings all packed up and ready to go. We went into their home, the dog looked at us, wagged her tail, and then proceeded to run up the stairs to the second level with one of their children. I wasn't expecting that response! That reaction alone told me that the care she had received was outstanding...the dog had had a BLAST!!! As if picking up a dog on Christmas Day wasn't a burden enough, Natasha sent us home with a care package...some treats for Timber, a Christmas ornament with her name and paw print inscribed, and a report card. It seems as though Timber had become what we used to refer to as "the Teacher's Pet"! If Natasha is available to take Timber in the future, I will not even bother to contact anyone else. She has my business secured. A+++. Dave Berry”

“Luna had a great stay with Jacqueline. I highly recommend this sitter. She was giving us updates and pictures. Jackeline is a dog lover, everything was clean and organized. I was delighted and I felt very relaxed knowing Jackeline was taking care of Luna.”

“We had such a wonderful experience with Erika! She looked after our puppy for five days, showering her with love, keeping her schedule and constantly playing and entertaining her. She created the perfect home environment for her to feel comfortable. Erika kept us in the loop with regular updates and photos of our puppy. We’re definitely going to use her services again! We encourage everyone to hire her as a pet sitter, she is wonderful.”

“We were so comfortable leaving Nellie with Melissa. She was a natural with dogs and Nellie felt her love right away. Nellie was cuddled and coddled and pampered and I'm glad she came home willingly. She was very flexible and communicative as well. I could not recommend her more highly. Thank you Melissa!”

“Fantastic sitter! Nina took time to bond with our dog, and quickly understood his queues. She took him on multiple walks each day & gave him all the attention he desired including doggie massages! :-) Nina was great at communicating & sending pictures. She goes above & beyond with everything to ensure your dog feels comfortable & loved!”

“Yanjing was an amazing sitter! She was very caring and attentive, and kept us updated throughout the stay. We could tell our pet was in great hands and well taken care of. Will definitely book again! Highly recommend!”

“Beata is not only a wonderful pet sitter but it is easy to tell she is a wonderful person. My very reactive dog connected with her right away. This gave me so much peace of mind in not only leaving Roy with someone new but making sure there was someone who was able to watch him that he liked. She sent so many pictures and videos. I always felt in the loop and really appreciated how communicative Beata was. I would recommend Beata to any and everyone I know who needs to leave their fur babies.”

“Cameron did a great job; especially with communication. She sent us multiple updates and pictures of our elderly dog. This was comforting since this was our dog's first visit and overnight stay. Cameron's home is also neat and tidy. We would definately recommend her as a sitter.”

“Katelyn was wonderful. She was kind enough to provide staid and pictures on a daily basis. This was my first experience with Rover, and I’m very pleased with the results.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
