“Nancy and her family have been an absolute blessing for us. She’s the only person we fully trust with our furry babies, and she has consistently done an outstanding job. Every morning, she sends us photos, which gives us so much peace of mind. From the very first time we left our pets with her, I knew she would be our go-to pet sitter from then on.”

“Leilani and family were great! Very easy and nice to work with. I felt very comfortable leaving our spoiled fur baby with them! Will definitely book with Leilani again.”

“Where do I even begin Charlotte had an amazing time at Alexandra’s home. She took such good care of her. She kept me updated daily with photos and updates on how Charlotte was doing. Charlotte also got along with her sweet dogs. She came back happy and tired which indicates to me she had a blast! Thanks Alexandra for everything! I will definitely be using her again!”

“Christopher took great care of our dog, Fable, and kept us updated with messages and videos. Fable came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. We would gladly book with Christopher again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy dog sitter.”

“I’ve just collected my doggie from Janae. He is happy and well. From start to finish the whole process was smooth and easy. This was the first time I’ve had to leave Taz for more than a day or two and he was well cared for during his stay with Janae who I highly recommend.”

“Johanny and her family made my dog’s stay very comfortable. He is an older dog and I could tell he was comfortable during the stay when I picked him up. I especially appreciated the photo of him during the stay and the updates. This was a short notice booking, due to last minute changes that made our options very limited. I was so relieved to find a good sitter for my senior dog. I hope to be able to book again, hopefully with more notice, as quick plans are often more challenging. Johanny was great and highly recommended.”

“Chee and Mark took amazing care of Norman while we were away for a week! They were reliable, attentive, and made sure he was well cared for the entire time. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands while we were on vacation. We came home to a happy, healthy pup, and it’s clear they treated him like one of their own. We highly recommend Chee and Mark to anyone looking for trustworthy and caring pet sitters.”

“Andrew was great with our dog, Sophie! He hosted a prior “Meet and Greet” for Sophie to get comfortable before her stay. The day we left, she trotted on in without looking back. Andrew sent us daily photos. It was awesome to see Sophie was doing well while we were gone. We highly recommend Andrew to take care of your furry friends while you are away.”

“Sonali was amazing to my pup. From the first moment we stepped in her home, he was at ease and not nervous at all when I was leaving. I received constant updates throughout my time away and came back to a super happy and loved dog. I would recommend over and over again. Thank you, Sonali!”

“I have trusted Jessica & Nathaniel to care for my dog, Sunshine, while I was out of town a couple times now. They have consistently been very communicative/quick to respond, flexible and understanding when I had to do late pickups due to travel delays, and attentive to Sunshine’s medication schedule. Most importantly, I could tell Sunshine enjoyed her stay in their very dog friendly home. She remembered their house and was ready to jump out of the car as soon as we pulled up for her second visit!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sanger
Johanny was so incredibly kind and flexible when I needed someone to take care of my pup VERY LAST MINUTE while I was already out of town. I had a family emergency and my friend couldn’t take care of him anymore so I rushed to find someone late at night and Johanny was quite literally the only one willing to take him in at such last minute. We are very appreciative and THANK HER a million times over. All was well upon our return.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
