“Carmel was absolutely amazing with our Doberman! From the very beginning, she was professional, kind, and clearly experienced with large breeds. She provided consistent updates and sent plenty of pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was obvious our dog was happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time. We truly went on our trip worry-free knowing our pup was in such great hands. We will absolutely be booking with Carmel again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable, attentive, and loving sitter!”

“Lauren is the best!! I came home from my latest trip to two happy dogs and a clean house...what more could I ask for?! She was even able to get my medium sized terrier into her walking harness which is no small task! Thank you Lauren! We will be repeat customers for sure.”

“Leah took such good care of Petunia during my trip abroad. I felt I did not need to worry at all, especially since Leah gave appropriately detailed summaries of her check ins. She didn't miss anything, and has gone above and beyond with every visit. I can tell she truly cares about Petunia's well being, and that gives me great comfort as well. Thank you so much, Leah!”

“Angey was amazing! My cat took a liking to her immediately and she cared for her greatly while I was away. Angey also took care of my tortoises while I was gone and shared she had a tortoise previously. :) highly recommend Angey!!!”

About: Animals bring me so much joy and I'm excited to get to know yours! Let’s be honest, our fur babies would prefer us around All.The.Time but as we know life is busy!! That's where I come in, ready to greet your pets with kindness, cuddles and lots of love. And I always make sure to match their energy. I grew up with dogs & cats (and fish!) all around and I love caring for, training and spending time with animals. Most recently I raised & trained my sweet rescue baby, a German Shepherd Boxer mix (she's a BIG baby yes!). Friends often call on me to take care of their furry family members. I'm comfortable with dogs and cats of all sizes and ages and can't wait to meet them and treat/spoil them with love like my own fur babies. I currently work from home while my girlfriend and I start our own businesses (working hard to chase our dreams!). My schedule is flexible at the moment so I can be available on short notice. Reach out so we can find a time and schedule that works best for you and your pets! For drop-in visits and walks I'm here to offer whatever your pet needs. Is Fido full of rambunctious energy and play? I'm ready for it! Chill time with cuddles? Sounds great! A rousing game of fetch? Fantastic! I will adjust to exactly what your fur baby needs and always send photos of our time together so you can rest easy that your pet is healthy and happy. Evfurrybody (couldn't resist) needs something a little different and I'll bring the love and build the trust that all animals need to feel safe and cared for.
About: Love all breeds but grew up with Shepherds. I do well with obedience training and am pretty adaptable when it comes to different temperaments. I always carry treats on hand. I am a part time college student and have plenty of flexibility around school and work which is from home. Available most days and mornings are best. I have a 600 sq foot apartment which is accommodating for both dogs and cats. I have a doggy bed and accommodations for boarding if needed.
About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats essentially my entire life, so I’m comfortable with pets of all breeds, sizes, and ages. I have hands-on experience with energetic puppies who require patience and extra attention, as well as senior pets that need a gentle touch. In fact, right now we have a puppy, a senior dog, and a senior cat at home, so I’m well-practiced in managing a variety of needs and responsibilities. I currently work part-time three to four days a week, which gives me plenty of availability to focus on pet care. I’m looking forward to offering loving care as a side gig until I return to college in late September. I make it a priority to keep an up-to-date schedule and communicate frequently so that both pets and owners know what to expect. When caring for pets, I prioritize creating a safe, comfortable, and loving environment. To me, this means following each pet’s individual routine, including feeding schedules, exercise, playtime, and any special needs they may have.

About: I’ve been taking care of animals my whole life being raised around them to continuing to love and care for them in my later life and have devoted myself fully to each one of them! I have 2 dogs and a cat at home which are beyond well loved. They are two dachshunds and a ragdoll cat! I spend most of my free time with them and love taking them on adventures to the beach and out about!

About: I've always loved playing with dogs and taking care of them. I grew up raising dogs, and puppies since I was 8 years old. I have about 18 years of experience with caring for these beautiful animals and I can't have one while I'm at college so this is the closest I can come to having a dog of my own. I'm on summer vacation so I'm readily available. I have experience with rescue dogs, dogs with separation anxiety, bottle feeding puppies and dogs of all sizes. I am currently going to school online at Humboldt State so my availability is very flexible. I am readily available for drop-ins, house-sitting and walks! I care for my clients pets just as if they were my own, ensuring all of their needs are met while also giving them some extra love and attention
About: I’ve taken care of animals starting in middle school. Friends and neighbors have always trusted me to walk, feed, and watch over their animals when they weren’t available. I’m currently a college student home for the summer so I’ll have plenty of time and energy to spend with your dogs, cats, and anything in between. I have a fenced yard with a loving and playful Labrador of my own. I am also more than willing to crate your dog if need be.

“Michelle was AWESOME with Evan our usually shy cat!! She was the best cat sitter we've ever had. We were a little nervous as we have just moved from NYC and felt guilty leaving our guy for 4 days. She checked in after each visit with pictures & commentary about her hang session with Evan. She definitely put us at ease while back on the east coast. I couldn’t have wished for more. I came home to a happy cat (though i think he may miss Michelle now!!) It is so nice to find someone so reliable and caring. Thanks so much, Michelle!! Evan cant wait to see you again!”

“Daniela did a wonderful job taking care of our dog over the holidays. Knowing our pup was being so well cared for made our trip worry-free. We will be using Daniela again soon!”

“Totally pleased. Steph helped out with a last minute crisis, and managed to navigate our situation with two labs to perfection. Will definitely hope to get Steph again for future visits.”

“Reagan was amazing. She was very thorough in taking care of our babies. She communicating to us each day in detail how our two dogs were doing and what she did with them. She sent pictures each day which we loved. I would 1 hundred percent use her services next time. I would highly recommend her.”

“Beth was great with our 6 month old kitten. I was nervous to leave her for the first time. But Beth kept us up to date with messages and photos. I’ll definitely use her again. She been a great dog sitter for us as well.”

About: As the mom of a 16-year-old pup, I understand how much our animals mean to us. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and have lots of fun until you return home. Because I always end up missing my dog when I'm on vacation or at work, I know how comforting it is to see what they're up to, so I'm happy to share lots of photo updates. My own dog is a senior with medical conditions, so I'm comfortable following detailed care instructions and administering medications and fluids when needed. Having a senior dog has taught me to be extremely patient and has given me a better understanding of how to read a dog's behavior and know when it's time to give them space or when they're ready to play. I'm happy to take them on walks to get their energy out or relax with them at home, depending on their routine and mood. I look forward to watching your pet! I work remotely, which allows me to provide plenty of attention, companionship, and potty breaks throughout the day. My flexible schedule means your pet won’t be left alone for long periods and can maintain their normal routine as closely as possible. Whether they enjoy playtime, walks, cuddles, or simply having someone nearby, I’ll make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while you’re away. I prefer to care for pets in their own home, where they’re most comfortable and able to stick to their normal routine. This also allows me to protect my own senior dog, Mishi, who has lymphoma and is more vulnerable to illnesses and infections. I have years of experience babysitting in clients’ homes, so I’m respectful of others’ privacy, property, and routines. I’ll treat your home with the same care and respect that I would my own while making sure your pets feel safe, loved, and well cared for.
“Hannah was extremely attentive when taking care of my cats. She played with them and took great care of them. One of my cats over grooms and she contacted my emergency contact when she felt he needed care. I felt my cats were extremely well taken care of and loved. I would book her again 100%. Thank you so much!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - San Clemente
Kyle did such an amazing job caring for my dog while I was out of town for work. I’m a first time Rover user so I was hesitant to select a stranger to come into my home, but Kyle was very communicative and friendly. We had a meet and greet ahead of the stay so my dog could check him out and go over the routine. 10/10 would recommend Kyle to care for your pet!
Our cat Pawlina LOVES Cornelia!! She was a feral cat and is quite shy and fearful of most people, but she responded immediately to Cornelia, and even greets her when she comes over. We are very happy knowing that Pawlina is being so well cared for by Cornelia while we’re away!!
Owen has been the best cat-sitter for our 2 cats! Easy to communicate, always on time, understandable of our needs. We have a complicated automatic toilet, feeders, and water dispenser - Owen was able to operate all that stuff. He spent time fixing our automatic toilet when it got stuck. Bottom line, we are happy and will be looking for Owen's services next time if available.
Alexa has been so good to my dachshund Murphy. I’m so grateful I chose her to drop in each weekday while I’m at work. It’s been a huge relief knowing Murphy is getting the care and attention he deserves. She’s been flexible with schedule changes and sends lots of pictures of him during playtime and walks. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for drop-ins or walks.

She provided consistent updates and sent plenty of pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was obvious our dog was happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
