“Angey was amazing! My cat took a liking to her immediately and she cared for her greatly while I was away. Angey also took care of my tortoises while I was gone and shared she had a tortoise previously. :) highly recommend Angey!!!”

“Carmel was absolutely amazing with our Doberman! From the very beginning, she was professional, kind, and clearly experienced with large breeds. She provided consistent updates and sent plenty of pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was obvious our dog was happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time. We truly went on our trip worry-free knowing our pup was in such great hands. We will absolutely be booking with Carmel again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable, attentive, and loving sitter!”

About: I’ve been caring for animals since I was 8 years old, from tiny Yorkies to giant Great Danes! I treat every dog like family and make sure they feel safe, loved, and spoiled while you’re away. Whether your pup loves playtime, cuddles, long walks, or just a calm companion, I’m happy to match their vibe and keep you updated along the way.” Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine since I work remotely and have a flexible schedule. I’m home most of the day, which means plenty of attention, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and cuddles throughout the day. I love having animals around and enjoy making them feel comfortable, safe, and part of the routine while they’re with me. In my home, I make sure pets have a safe, comfortable, and loving environment where they can relax and feel at home. I stick to their normal routine as much as possible with feeding, walks, playtime, potty breaks, and lots of attention and affection. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of both the pet’s routine and the home itself, making sure pets feel comfortable in their familiar space while keeping owners updated with photos and messages along the way.
About: I have a lifelong love for dogs and years of experience caring for pets of all shapes and sizes. Whether your pup needs an energetic, fast-paced walk, a gentle stroll, or just some dedicated playtime and companionship, I treat every dog as if they were my own. I’m incredibly reliable, attentive to specific routines or safety instructions, and as a bonus, I love taking photo updates so you can see exactly how much fun your dog is having while you're away! As an elementary school teacher, my summer months are completely open! I have a highly flexible and open schedule right now, which means I can dedicate plenty of quality, focused time to walking, playing with, and keeping your pets company whenever you need me throughout the day, weekdays and weekends alike. When caring for pets in your home, I treat your space and your furry family members with the utmost respect and care. As an educator, I am naturally detail-oriented and organized; I strictly follow your established routines, feeding schedules, and specific house rules. I always ensure doors and gates are securely locked during visits, keep your pup safe and leashed on walks, and love leaving your home exactly as I found it. You can expect consistent communication and fun photo updates after every visit!
“Leah took such good care of Petunia during my trip abroad. I felt I did not need to worry at all, especially since Leah gave appropriately detailed summaries of her check ins. She didn't miss anything, and has gone above and beyond with every visit. I can tell she truly cares about Petunia's well being, and that gives me great comfort as well. Thank you so much, Leah!”

About: I bring a unique level of experience and professionalism to pet care, shaped by over two decades of service as a U.S. Marine and certified dog handler. I’ve deployed to Afghanistan as a combat dog handler, later serving as a trainer and kennel master, where I was responsible for the care, training, and performance of working dogs in high-stress environments. I also hold training certifications from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department as well as specialized credentials through the ATF and Department of Defense. This background not only taught me advanced skills in training puppies and adult dogs, but also in providing attentive care for senior and special-needs dogs. Above all, I bring patience, discipline, and a genuine love for animals—treating every dog I work with as if they were my own. I retired from active duty this year and I am a full time student, but I’m generally flexible in most situations and can work through challenges. My current residence is enclosed by a fence with a nice yard and patio area in a calm neighborhood by the pier in San Clemente, close to the beach and trails.

“I had never used a service like Rover to have someone look after my cat, but after meeting Lauren, I knew I had nothing to worry about. My Lucy took to her immediately. Lauren sent me daily photos and I could tell she was happy. Upon my return, after almost two weeks, she was healthy, happy, content and no accidents, which is huge because she had been having them before I left. Lauren definitely knows & loves animals and they instinctively trust her. I will definitely call upon her again when needed. She's an absolutel LOVE!”

About: Hi! I would say one of the things I love most in the world are dogs. I’ve grown up with them my whole life and have taken care of all my friends family. All the dogs i’m around i treat as my own, and i hope to do the same with your dogs!😊 I am currently in my third year at CU Boulder and would love to help out anyway I can while I’m home in Orange County for my break! I am with my dogs all the time at home and would love to spend some of my free time helping care for other pets. I have a fenced yard and two other pups to keep your dog company, in a very safe neighborhood. I have plenty of toys to keep your pup entertained and lots of room in case there’s a crate or some type of bed.
“Absolutely wonderful! I can't say enough good things about Bailey, we are so happy we found such a kind, professional, and attentive person to look after our pets while we're away.”

“Michelle is AWESOME! We have a 6month rescue puppy who is very shy and slow to warm up to new people (in spite of our socialization efforts - she’s extra like that) and Michelle has been so sweet and patient with her. You can tell she definitely loves dogs and has experience with young puppies still learning.”
“Kimberly is the best! She is great with communicating and did a great job checking in on our dog, Max, and he absolutely loves her. Kimberly fed him dinner, took him for a walk and sent us photos. We will definitely be using Kimberly again 🐶!”

About: I’ve worked with dogs and cats a majority of my life; including doggie day care, training, veterinary technician, and lead technician for the surgery department. I’ve now worked remote for three years and want to get back into working people’s pets again. I spend my time at home or on a trail somewhere near by. I’ve owned three dogs at once myself but currently down to two. We are looking to bring more life in our home and more company on walks. My animals are well socialized and want some animal friends to join us. I’m 36 years old and my husband works nights and I’m unemployed. I love taking care of people’s pets and want to get more involved with the community to help people out I personally have had bad experiences with my animals so I know how difficult it can be to leave our pets. I’m with my pups 24/7 and do very well with sending photos and keeping parents updated on well being to help put their mind at ease while enjoying their vacations or focusing on their work trip. My home is pet friendly. I’ve been surrounded by dogs for 15 years at least so very aware of behaviors and safety for pets. When watching someone’s pup you can be sure they are getting love, exercise, treats (if approved) and training ( if requested). Pets will be put on lease before any door is opened, we keep feedings separate as needed as well as keeping the owner updated with photos and any concerns.
“Beth was great with our 6 month old kitten. I was nervous to leave her for the first time. But Beth kept us up to date with messages and photos. I’ll definitely use her again. She been a great dog sitter for us as well.”

“Steph did her usual great job taking care of our dog. Daily walks, medication, and food. He appears to be happier to see Stephanie than us when we return. Thanks again for taking care of our big boy!!”

About: A happy dog is a tired dog! I offer dog walks, drop-in visits and overnights at my home. My experience is both personal and professional: I recently lost my beloved 15-year old Labrador. Since I’ve been able to drive (25+ years ago), I’ve also professionally pet sat many fur babies within their homes for extended stays (references available, but Rover was not invented back then🤣). I love the companionship of animals, as well as offering pet owners the feeling of relief that comes with knowing their fur-family is well tended. Whether away on vacation, or you have a long work day, I’m well aware of how nerve-wracking and uncomfortable it is to leave your pet alone for too long. The need for a pet-sitter myself is initially what led me to Rover. At the moment, I mostly board dogs within my home, but am available for drop in visits/walks on occasion. While I don’t have a yard, I’m a stay at home mom who is home all day save for local errands and picking up/dropping off my kids to/from school and activities. I can provide a potty break or walk every 3-4 hours. My kids LOVE animals, so dogs must be used to kids, and enjoy affection. However, rest assured, I don’t let my kids climb on or otherwise irritate your pet. Please contact me to discuss your needs and feel relieved knowing your pup will get a good dose of affection, exercise and plenty of potty breaks while you’re away. I’m a stay at home mom, and husband works out of the home. I have your pet stay with me, or I can visit your place mornings and late afternoons. I board up to two dogs at once. I keep dogs in a gated off area (or your pet crate) while I’m out, and dogs have the run of my place while we’re home. Your pet must be comfortable with kids. However I won’t let my kiddos tug, climb on or otherwise irritate your baby. Your dog must like lots of attention though. He/she will get lots of pets, and if ok with you, some gentle hugs.
About: I’ve been caring for dogs for over 2 years and have owned and been around dogs my whole life. I’m patient, dependable, and genuinely love animals. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to feed, walk, play with, and care for their pets while they’re away. I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe and comfortable, and I always make sure they get plenty of attention, care, and love. I’m comfortable with dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I’m not currently working any other jobs so I have pretty much full availability, I can host pets at my home with a fenced in yard and dog park in the neighborhood or have no problem coming to you! Fenced in yard, dog park in neighborhood, I have one small baby doodle in the home who is very friendly and loving to keep any pups company, can also keep dogs separate or crated depending on how you prefer your care.

Our cat Pawlina LOVES Cornelia!! She was a feral cat and is quite shy and fearful of most people, but she responded immediately to Cornelia, and even greets her when she comes over. We are very happy knowing that Pawlina is being so well cared for by Cornelia while we’re away!!
Erin was great. I was nervous to leave my cat for a week but Erin made me feel at ease with detailed updates and multiple pictures per visit. Erin has clear communication and she clearly cares about cats which I felt from the initial visit with her but was reassured of this with every visit she had with my cat and update to me directly following every visit. I will definitely be using Erin to watch my cat again in the future if she is available when I go out of town.

Owen has been the best cat-sitter for our 2 cats! Easy to communicate, always on time, understandable of our needs. We have a complicated automatic toilet, feeders, and water dispenser - Owen was able to operate all that stuff. He spent time fixing our automatic toilet when it got stuck. Bottom line, we are happy and will be looking for Owen's services next time if available.
Alexa has been so good to my dachshund Murphy. I’m so grateful I chose her to drop in each weekday while I’m at work. It’s been a huge relief knowing Murphy is getting the care and attention he deserves. She’s been flexible with schedule changes and sends lots of pictures of him during playtime and walks. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for drop-ins or walks.

Carmel was absolutely amazing with our Doberman! We will absolutely be booking with Carmel again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable, attentive, and loving sitter!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
