About: I go by Emmy, by the way! Life-long animal lover and owner. I am currently spoiling two dogs, two gerbils, and a planted tank of various aquatic wildlife but have also had lizards and other rodents in the past. I have been mom to dogs who have lived to be 16 and some who lived to be 5 due to various ailments. I discovered I enjoy taking care of special needs dogs and give them the best life they can dream of, especially if they have a tough go before they come to me. I home make dog food, drive my dogs in their car seats for weekly pupcups, and have weekly spa days where I make them smell less stinky. As long as I can fit my own personal daily needs and routines, I can fit watching your pets or house whenever it is needed. One of my dogs is currently in training to get along with stranger dogs, so I will need to do drop bys (no outside animals in my home for now). In their own home, I would just stick to the routine as closely as possible. I also don't like just running in and out, I will give your pet all the love and attention while I'm there. I can also be a pet taxi.

About: I have taken care of dogs of all sizes small to extra large as well as cats and even some exotic pets. I have been the go to sitter for my friends and family every time they go on vacation. I love caring for animals and can’t wait to help you with yours. I am experienced with animals- puppies to elderly dogs, kittens to elderly cats. I homeschool my kids so I have a very flexible schedule and can work with what you need. I mostly have open afternoons and Friday through the weekend. While I’m taking care of your pet I will do all I can to assure they are taken care of physically as well as emotionally offering love, play and exercise, whatever it is they need that day. Every pet is different and I will work with you to ensure they are getting what they need from me, walks, pets or play.

About: Caring for people and pets comes naturally to me. I worked in nursing for several years before leaving to care for my father full time.between that and being a mom giving love and care comes easy. I have 3 dogs of my own, all of which are friendly and love a bit of play time. I am a big believer in fresh air and exercise. Let's get those steps in for your 4 legged family member. I don't work a regular job, I care for my elderly father and do some side work here and there. So I am available for walking or drop in visits at a moments notice. I have a fenced in yard and food and treats at the ready. Many leashes and brushes and more. I have 3 dogs of my own that love to play with each other and yours too. I can also keep my dogs away if yours isn't socialized to others.

Let me put your mind at ease and show you why your pets will be in great hands. I currently have a 16-year-old Pitbull, Buddy, a 3-year-old Shiba Inu, Nala May, and an 8-year-old cat, Bean. They are my world! I’ve cared for Buddy since he was just one year old—though sometimes it feels like he’s taken care of me. Over the years, he’s given me not only a deep love for animals but also firsthand experience in caring for pets as they age and require extra patience and attention. I’ve had Nala May since she was four months old, and I continue to train and socialize her daily. She keeps me active and always learning. I adopted Bean from a cat café in West Des Moines when she was two, and she’s been my independent, outspoken girl ever since. She’s taught me how important it is to respect each pet’s unique personality. Whether your pet needs a slow, gentle walk, a high-energy run, or simply a warm lap to relax on, I’m happy to provide exactly what they need. My professional experience started at a dog boarding and daycare facility, where I worked hands-on in play yards and learned how to read and understand dog behavior. Within a year, I advanced to an Assistant Manager position and became certified in dog and cat CPR. During my time there, I cared for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I learned how to comfort anxious pets, manage high-energy dogs, and provide engaging enrichment activities while safely redirecting behaviors. Currently, I work at a veterinary and rehabilitation clinic Monday, Wednesday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with a hour break in the afternoon. I am also in school working toward becoming a registered veterinary technician. At the clinic, I’ve gained valuable medical knowledge and hands-on skills, including administering medications, injections, and fluids, assisting with mobility in senior pets, and recognizing early signs of health concerns. About: Born and raised a dog lover! I’ve have 5 dogs throughout my life that I have loved so dearly. I’ve grown up taking care of my friend’s dogs in HS and college. I love to go on walks, so why not bring your pup with me! I unfortunately do not have my own dog at this time with my significant other, but I hope to get one soon! About: Hi! I’m Rachel, and animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. These days, my family includes my partner, four kids, and what we lovingly call our “mini zoo”: dogs, cats, a bunny, ball pythons, a bearded dragon, mourning geckos, and multiple aquariums full of fish, shrimp, snails, and dwarf crayfish. Caring for such a variety of animals has made me comfortable with everything from energetic puppies to reptiles and aquatic pets. Since joining Rover, I’ve had the opportunity to care for pets with all kinds of unique needs. I’ve worked with raw-fed dogs and cats, chickens, senior pets, anxious pets, and plenty of quirky personalities. Along the way I’ve even found myself handling unexpected adventures like moving fallen tree branches after storms, making small home fixes, collecting fresh raspberries from clients’ gardens, and convincing stubborn geese to cooperate. Every home and every pet has its own story, and I love being someone families can depend on. My experience goes beyond pet sitting. In high school I volunteered regularly at a local animal shelter, gaining hands-on experience with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. I later worked as an assistant dog trainer, where I learned to read canine body language, encourage healthy play, and build trust through calm, confident handling. Whether I’m caring for one pet or an entire household, I believe great pet care is about more than feeding and potty breaks. I pay attention to routines, behavior, enrichment, and the little details that help pets feel safe while you’re away. I also keep an eye on your home, bring in packages, water plants if requested, and communicate with plenty of updates so you can truly relax while you’re gone. For families who enjoy it, my animal-loving family is often part of the fun as long as the pets are okay with their presence. If your pets love people, they’ll have no shortage of affection and enrichment while they’re with us. My goal is simple: to care for your pets the same way I’d want someone to care for mine, with patience, respect, and lots of love. Both my wife and I have worked in food prep and have experience with food allergies in our family so if you have any food allergies in your home, please let us know! We will do our best to make sure we do not add any cross contamination risks to your home. I work as a school bus driver primarily so it leaves my summer & most major holidays pretty open! Between my wife and I, we are almost always available and we can usually fit last minute requests or oddly times requests into our day. I am pretty flexible but my main priority is making sure I am respectful of your space as much as I would want someone to be respectful of mine. Taking photos and communicating heavily with pet parents is top priority for me. If you wish to have less communication, just let me know so I don’t send too many cute pictures of your pets! I know what a big deal it is to leave my pets in the care of someone else and as a result, I take the responsibility very seriously myself. Both my wife and I have worked in food prep and have experience with food allergies in our family so if you have any food allergies in your home, please let us know! We will do our best to make sure we do not add any cross contamination risks to your home. This includes pet allergies (one of ours is allergic to chicken). We have a very large unfenced yard. We do not use any pesticides on our yard to protect the environment and animals of all kinds. 🌎🐝🦋 In the warm months, you’ll see lots of native plants, wildflowers and butterflies in our yard as a result. Please note: While we welcome pets of all kinds, we do not allow pet parents into our home. We want to make sure we are protecting the privacy and security of our children and their space. Also: we have 4 kids (see: mini-zoo reference above) it can be a mess up in here sometimes! 🤣

About: My family had dogs growing up so I have some experience walking and playing with dogs. I also have had my cats for about 7 years. I work from home Wednesdays and Fridays and could easily stop in for check ins during those days. I love to go on walks to grays lake so definitely looking for a dog or two to take with me. I would prefer a set of rules for my clients pets so I would know best how to service their pet while they are away.
