“Hailey was wonderful! She was warm, responsive and made us feel like our dog was well taken care of! This was the first time we left our dog, and it was for 11 days! She was great. She was also very responsive and adaptable when we picked up our dog early because we changed plans to come home a few days earlier than anticipated.”

“Sharon and Cornelius are truly exceptional dog sitters, and I can’t recommend them highly enough! From the moment we connected, their warmth, professionalism, and genuine love for dogs were immediately clear. They went above and beyond to ensure that my dog felt safe, happy, and completely at home. Throughout the entire stay, they kept us updated with thoughtful messages and photos. It was obvious our dog wasn’t just being looked after—he was being cared for with real affection and attention. They took the time to learn his routines, preferences, and quirks, and treated him like part of their family. When I returned, our dog was relaxed, content, and clearly well cared for—a true testament to the environment they created. It’s not easy to leave your pet in someone else’s hands, but with Sharon and Cornelius, we felt total confidence every step of the way. If you’re looking for reliable, compassionate, and truly outstanding dog sitters, Sharon and Cornelius are simply the best. We would trust them again in a heartbeat and will definitely work with them in the future. Thank you both so much!”

“Ashley is now my go to dog sitter. First, she contacted me promptly after my initial request. Ashley had me bring my dogs to her house to make sure my dogs got along with her dogs. They were all pals by the end of the week . She and her husband took my dogs for walks and even took Mia on a hike with her family. She sent several photos and kept me updated. She lives on a farm. The grass area is fenced securely, so I felt the dogs were secure. Ashley is also a vet tech, so I was not concerned about their safety. My only concern is that I didn't think my dogs would want to come home. I recommend and will take them back for sure! Thanks again Ashley.”

“Renee and her family are wonderful. My pups always get the attention, exercise, and care they need. They're kids keep my pups entertained, which is a blessing to my dogs and me! I can never say enough good things about the care Renee and her family give my precious pups!”

“Adelaine has watched our dog several times now and we will continue to use her as often as she’s available for our trips. Our dogs seems to be comfortable and enjoys going there.”

“Heather was great! She was so kind and patient at drop off. Our boy is so shy and she was really slow and careful with him. Her updates and pictures were great! We will definitely trust her with our dog again.”

“Huck had a great time at Janine's place! His favorite thing is to play in water, so she filled up the pool for him to play in. Janine was amazing with communication and sent lots of videos and pictures. Huck was a very happy boy when we picked him up and we're very grateful he got to spend the day with her!”

“Cheri is the better sitter we’ve ever had. She sends lots of pictures and videos while we’re are gone and gives tons of updates which we appreciate so much. We love her dog pixie too, she is a great friend to our Scout. We know our pup is in good hands!”

“Kristin was amazing with our little guy! She kept me updated with pictures and texts to show how he was doing. Since this was my first time leaving our little dog I was nervous but she invited me to come meet her first which reassured me a lot. Kovu had an amazing time there and got a ton of snuggles and walks there. No doubt about it Kristin is the best and would recommend her to everyone!!”

“We are glad we had our dogs stay with Kim! She did a great job with them, and they came home happy and healthy. We do wish there had been a little more communication from her about how the dogs were doing, but overall we were very happy with the level of care provided.”

“Darlena is the only dog sitter for us! She did a wonderful job this trip with our senior and young pup. We always know they’re safe, happy, and tuckered out! Thank you! 🩷🐾”

“We had Carolina watch our dog for a week. She did an amazing job! She sent us videos and pictures daily of our dog. She was also very quick to respond to our text messages. We will for sure have Carolina watch our dog again when we travel. We would highly recommend leaving your pets with her. Very clean, and fenced in yard. Thanks again Carolina!”

“My cat was so comfortable Sheyla and her kids that she slept on a bed. My cat never sleeps on a bed. Sheyla was very friendly and welcoming for my Koge’s one night. Gave me an update of koge with pictures. I would rebook if I’m ever going through Utah again.”

“Jessica was fantastic. Very loving towards dogs. Very accommodating as well. I will send my dog with her every time for now on if I can. Exceptionally clean house and great yard.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Salem
Wish I could give more stars!⭐️ Nicole is flexible, personable and Mango forgot about us about 2 seconds after we got there! Her children are sweet, and loving and I’m sure were a big part of Mango’s happy experience. I loved her friendly little dog pack and mango loved joining her pack for the day. She was happy and non-punishing😂 when we picked her up which was a first for us. She was EXHAUSTED the whole next day. My husband joked that our little princess might need a day with Nicole at least once a month whether we go on vacation or not! 😂 She absolutely loved running around and checking on the cows and being on the farm. We will use Nicole again and again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in UT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
