“Fantastic care for unusual animals. Amanda was so diligent with the feeding needs of my turtle. She even volunteered a lettuce leaf as a snack. She took great care of the fish without overfeeding and provided medical care for one of them. Then she very kindly agreed to water my plants. Pictures and videos everyday. Lots of communication. I will absolutely use her again and you should too. If she does this well with a turtle, imagine how great you'll be with your cats and dogs.”

About: My background in canine care began at the Little Shelter Animal Adoption Center in Huntington, NY in 2008. I was employed there for several years as a dog walker and socializer, working with a wide variety of dogs and puppies from many different walks of life. All of the dogs were rescues, and so special care needed to be provided, with exercise, playtime, feeding, and even medication distribution. After working at the shelter, I found myself at a few local grooming parlors, working as a bather. As you've probably experienced, most dogs do not love being bathed and groomed, and so I would try my very best to make them comfortable in the unfamiliar situation they were in, taking the time to check in on them frequently and give them lots of reassurance and loving. Patience goes a long way! In January of 2015 I had my first two-month long house and pet sitting job. However, since then I've been working a full time office job and have been unable to enjoy much time with canine companions. I will regularly pet sit for close friends and family, but I'm ready to spend more time around furry friends! I'd love to meet you and your pup and ensure that they're properly taken care of and loved while you're out on the weekend, working, or away on vacation! I'm currently working part-time, with a very flexible schedule, so there's a good chance I'll be able to accommodate your scheduling needs! Reach out to me with any questions. However, our situation has changed, and we are currently taking care of my mom's corgi mix due to her illness. He is a lovable dog who gets along well with other dogs, except for those who are overly aggressive, and he enjoys playing with other dogs. They are at school but when they get home from the bus they can help by playing with your pet or just giving some extra attention, pets or just snuggles. I live on an acre of land that is all grass, no pool and is fenced in. Weekends are open to watching your pet here or coming up your home and watching you pet, I can do that while the hubby stays and watches my children if you need. I’m flexible so depending on your needs. Will only do one family at a time. Two pets max from family. I can offer dog walking and check in throughout the day if you live in Suffolk county.

Sarah sent photos and spent time with them so they didn't feel neglected. Sarah also went above and beyond by shoveling snow! It snowed while I was away and Sarah cleared the walk way and some of the driveway. Plus she also let the cats have some outdoor time in the snow (they are indoor/outdoor cats so it was good that they got some outdoor time while I was away so things seemed normal).”

He is great with more high energy and active dogs, going on long walks, or runs and hikes with them. I work full time where I commute Monday-Friday. Weekends I’m home. My Fiancé also works full time but he gets out a little earlier than I do. For weekend stays we are available to give your furry family the most attention and care. If there is need during the week I’m usually away from home for 10 hours during the day including my commute time to and from work. We will walk and feed them before we leave in the morning and as soon as either of us gets home will do the same and then again before bedtime. In our home, pets are cared for in a calm, safe environment. We live on the second floor of a house in a suburban neighborhood with sidewalks, which allows for safe, structured walks. While we don’t have direct yard access, we make sure dogs get regular walks, exercise, and attention. I also have a senior cat who is naturally shy and takes time to warm up, so I’m very understanding of pets who may be anxious or need a slower, more gentle approach. In a client’s home, I focus on maintaining your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible whether that’s feeding schedules, walks, playtime, or quiet time. I’m attentive to their behavior and needs, and I always aim to make them feel comfortable and secure while you’re away.

About: I’ve always had animals in my life and taken care of dogs and cats since I was little. There is nothing quite like having a pet; nurturing it yourself, forming that special bond and learning all those quirks that make each animal special. My own dog Maxie is very social and even at 10 years old is super playful. I wanted to be a pet sitter because I enjoy being around animals and taking care of them. It always makes my day meeting a new dog. I am comfortable with any kind of breed and any age. My hours are flexible and I have over 20 years experience. I am a teacher, I generally work from 7-2 but I available before 7 to make sure they are well fed. I can also come back on my lunch breaks to make sure they get some play time and need to go for walks as well as anytime after 2:30. I am also available on Saturdays and most Sundays. I would bring toys and treats for your fur baby so that they feel comfortable with me. I would ask their owners what their routine is and if they have any medical concerns I should be aware of. I would send them pictures of their pets throughout the day and keep their owners regularly updated on how they are doing. I normally walk my dog 3 times a day and feed him twice a day ( morning and night ) with snacks in the middle of the day with plenty of water and potty breaks. I would be doing the same things too. I usually play with my dog first thing when I get home and before we go to bed. I would do the same things too when I pet sit.

About: Hello! My name is Samantha, and I’ve been surrounded by fur babies my entire life. Growing up, I had two miniature poodles, one of whom had special needs. He struggled with chronic allergies and a seizure disorder, and I helped care for him with daily medications and a special diet that gave him a long, happy life until he passed at 16 years old. Today, my family includes two standard poodles, two parrots, and a rabbit. Beyond that, I also care for the wildlife around my home. I feed 20–30 blue jays daily, I feed stray cats, and I’ve built enough trust with the wild rabbits in my yard that they now let me hand-feed them.
