About: I've had the pleasure of caring for dogs since I was 13. I've had my own dogs, as well as caring for and watching many friends' and neighbors' dogs overnight. I simply adore dogs and I believe they can sense it. I'm very patient, calm, & will treat your dog with the upmost of care. I'm dedicated to dog sitting and walking! My schedule is flexible and I'm available 5 days (Sunday through Thursday in the day), and overnights Sunday through Thursday as well. I'm comfortable staying over a client's house. I'm respectful of property and very clean. I will become fast friends with your fur baby and play with them for hours.
“Elisa was absolutely amazing to work with! One of our dogs has pretty severe medical issues and I felt so safe with her in Elisa‘s loving care. She treated our fur babies as her own and I can’t wait to work with her again.”

“Madison is a great dog sitter. She is very easy to communicate with and kept me up to date when playing with my puppy. She is great with my puppy who is still in the process of getting potty trained and is very energetic. I highly recommend contacting her and booking her to sit.”

About: Hello! My name is Samantha, and I’ve been surrounded by fur babies my entire life. Growing up, I had two miniature poodles, one of whom had special needs. He struggled with chronic allergies and a seizure disorder, and I helped care for him with daily medications and a special diet that gave him a long, happy life until he passed at 16 years old. Today, my family includes two standard poodles, two parrots, and a rabbit. Beyond that, I also care for the wildlife around my home. I feed 20–30 blue jays daily, I feed stray cats, and I’ve built enough trust with the wild rabbits in my yard that they now let me hand-feed them. Those quiet moments with animals bring me so much joy. In high school, I pursued my passion for animal care by completing the BOCES veterinary program, where I earned two Awards of Excellence. I also hold a Veterinary Medical Assistant certification, which reflects my dedication to giving animals the love and care they deserve. I’m starting college this fall and am excited about my future, but my love for animals will always hold a big place in my heart. That’s why I’ve decided to make room for even more fur babies by offering my help here to anyone in need. I’m flexible with my schedule and happy to work with you to find times that best fit your pet’s needs. Any time of the day you need, I’m there. When it comes to caring for your dogs, I make safety and trust my top priorities. Whether I’m walking your pup, staying with them in your home, or just dropping by for a visit, you can count on me to treat them as if they were my own. I always pay close attention to their surroundings, making sure walks are safe, leashes are secure, and they’re never put in uncomfortable situations. Your trust means everything to me, and I know how important it is to feel at ease when leaving your pets in someone else’s care. I follow all instructions carefully, maintain consistency with their routines, and keep communication open so you always know how they’re doing. I also believe a calm, positive environment is key to happy pets. Whether it’s giving them plenty of exercise, engaging playtime, or just quiet companionship, I do my best to create an environment where your dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved.

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and love them all big to small. I’m a dog owner myself, I have a 14-year-old Boston Terrier and a 2-year-old Golden Retriever. So I’m very used to both senior dogs and high energy pups. I really understand how important it is to have someone dependable caring for your pet. I’m very consistent, always show up, and treat every pet like my own. Whether your dog needs a quick potty break, fresh food/water, or some playtime and attention, I’ll make sure they’re happy, safe, and cared for while you’re away. If you’re looking for someone local, trustworthy, and consistent, I’d love to help! I’m available for late morning visits and afternoon drop-ins during the week, with more limited availability on weekends. I focus on a small number of consistent clients to provide reliable care. I work part-time at a school so once summer hits, I will have more hours. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my priority. I follow your instructions closely and make sure your pet feels safe, relaxed, and cared for during every visit.
“Sharon was great!! She came for a meet and greet with very short notice a few days before our planned visit and was very flexible with timing. On the day of her drop in, she let me know when she arrived at the house and sent me a picture of Audrey right away. Very very happy!!”

I am also very meticulous about their needs and yours. Please let me know their preferences and behaviors so I can best meet their needs. As a student my schedule varies but it I am typically available for morning and afternoon services such as walks and check-ins. I could also accommodate afternoons services depending on the week and request. My weekends are typically free unless specified otherwise. Available to do dog sitting on weekends (Friday, Saturday) but message me directly for my weekday availability. If you are requesting drop-in services at your house, please let me know what your pet requires. I can offer play time, refill water and food, medication administration, brushing, and complete certain household tasks. Occasionally, if I do overday dogsitting, your dog will have a fenced-in backyard to run around in.
About: I am a full time employee in an assisted living. I had my sweet dachshund for 17 years, and caring for her through her senior years taught me how to care and keep senior pets happy. Now I have a happy, energetic bernedoodle and two adorable bunnies at my parents house and always miss now that I am away. I I have been around both small and large dogs all of my life. Growing up I constantly house sat, fed and watered pets while my neighbors were away for pocket money. I look forward to becoming your dog’s new favorite sitter! I have work till 5pm and then the rest of the day I have time to take care of your pets. When I lived with my pets I would let them out in the yard in the mornings and as soon as I would get home. I made sure to give them attention and affection everyday. I have dealt with senior dogs and am well aware of their limits. It is my promise that I will make any dog of any age as comfortable and as happy as possible.
About: I’ve cared for a variety of pets—dogs, a rabbit, and chickens—giving me a well-rounded understanding of animal care. With years of experienced dog-sitting and walking for friends and family, I’m attentive, reliable, and passionate about keeping dogs happy and active. Whether your pup needs a fun walk, extra care, or a little extra energy burned off, I’m here to help! As a college student on the Upper West Side, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to care for your pet throughout the week. Whether your dog needs an afternoon walk or weekend care, I’m more than happy to fit pet care into my routine! I absolutely love dogs and make every walk a fun, safe, and enjoyable experience :) As the big sister to a loving Pit/Bulldog mix, I understand the importance of prioritizing a pup’s happiness.
“Julia was amazing!! We left for 10 days for our honeymoon. She took great care of my two cats exactly as I had asked. She even took out the trash and swept the litter on the floor. I truly felt like my cats were in great hands which made me enjoy my trip more. She is very responsive and understanding of your needs. I highly recommend Julia!”

“Melissa was amazing with our Stella! This was our first time using rover and Melissa made us feel comfortable and secure that Stella was in great hands! We will definitely be using Melissa again and can’t recommend her enough! :)”

About: With over 10 years of pet care experience, I bring dependable feeding routines, fun activities that keep dogs busy, gentle but consistent discipline, and genuine loving attention that helps every pet feel safe, happy, and understood. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily and weekly routine because I have plenty of free time and a flexible schedule. Running my Etsy business on the side allows me to work from home, making it easy to prioritize walks, feedings, playtime, and companionship. Pets get my full attention, consistency, and care throughout the day. When caring for pets in my clients’ homes, I make sure their space stays clean, tidy, and respected. I provide a safe, calm, and trusting environment for their dog, focusing on consistent routines, attentive supervision, and plenty of love. My goal is to ensure both the pet and the home are well cared for at all times.

About: While I’ve never owned a dog, I have worked as a dog sitter and walker since I was a kid, and I’ve been in and around dogs my whole life. I also have in-depth experience with other animals including rabbits, lizards, snakes, gerbils/mice, rats, fish, frogs, but especially cats. I volunteered at a cat shelter administering meds and working with the high needs and feral cats. I am a graduate student so I have a very flexible schedule outside of Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I can stay at any house within 30 minutes of stony Brook university for as long as you need. I like to get the basics out of the way first; walk, food, water, meds and other maintenance (litter-box, pet related cleaning ect). I love to send a cute photo of your pet(s) to you every day to ensure both your peace of mind and help build that library of cute photos! Even for “drop-in” sitting, I will spend most of my day working/relaxing in the home around them, intermittently playing with them or letting them outside (if relevant). I since I grew up around so many pets, I very naturally am always aware of what your pet is up to in and around me, often talking to them directly (as if they understand). Especially for drop ins, I try to simulate them having you still there/they have not been left home alone and overall want to make them feel less lonely. Of course I will adjust this as necessary regarding specific anxious attachment concerns! For dog walking, if you’re willing to let me drive your dog, I love taking walks in parks or along a beach! I would love to “double dip” and take care of any other pets you need taken care of, I have experience across the animal kingdom (rodents, reptiles, amphibians, fish!) or any minor tasks you need done like watering plants or bringing in mail/packages! Things like packages or feeding fish are fully included in my rate, but I might request a small fee increase ($5 max) depending on the magnitude. For example if “water the plants” involved 20 different exotic plants with specialty watering techniques or if feeding the fish also included changing their tank water. Overall my only concern regarding safety/trust and environment is that I am not comfortable with aggressive dogs. Even if they are only trying to intimidate me at first, I am overly cautious around aggressive dogs which impedes my ability to provide them the care they deserve. (This is mostly due to an experience as a child while taking care of my grandparents dachshund where another dog tried to attack her so I picked her up and the other dog ended up biting my arm).
About: My background in canine care began at the Little Shelter Animal Adoption Center in Huntington, NY in 2008. I was employed there for several years as a dog walker and socializer, working with a wide variety of dogs and puppies from many different walks of life. All of the dogs were rescues, and so special care needed to be provided, with exercise, playtime, feeding, and even medication distribution. After working at the shelter, I found myself at a few local grooming parlors, working as a bather. As you've probably experienced, most dogs do not love being bathed and groomed, and so I would try my very best to make them comfortable in the unfamiliar situation they were in, taking the time to check in on them frequently and give them lots of reassurance and loving. Patience goes a long way! In January of 2015 I had my first two-month long house and pet sitting job. However, since then I've been working a full time office job and have been unable to enjoy much time with canine companions. I will regularly pet sit for close friends and family, but I'm ready to spend more time around furry friends! I'd love to meet you and your pup and ensure that they're properly taken care of and loved while you're out on the weekend, working, or away on vacation! I'm currently working part-time, with a very flexible schedule, so there's a good chance I'll be able to accommodate your scheduling needs! Reach out to me with any questions. I have two cats at who are cautious of other animals, so I'm happy to care for your pet in your home! I'd love to learn about your pet's routine and preferences to provide them the best care possible.
About: I have worked with animals for the last 13 years! I can come before work and after I have my own small fenced turf, and a dog park near by! My dog Miley is very good with other dogs! Especially golden and labs!
About: Ive been taking care of my own pets from dogs to rabbits since ive been a little kid, and that passion continued to grow as a got older eventually committing to go to college for Veterinary Technology and am now a Licensed Veterinary Technician at the Veterinary Eye Center of NYC and will gladly take care of anything your pet needs from running a marathon around the block to administering any treatments they may need. I currently work full time, but would be happy to take some time for your pet anytime on the weekend, and the occasional monday and friday In any clients home i’d respect all rules of the home and environment, while happily taking the dog wherever the client asks or simply taking care of it in the home, properly providing food, water and lots of attention I usually am working either Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday, mostly free for the weekends as well as monday and friday depending on the week, but more than happy to work things out as they arise! I tend to only care for pets at the home of the client, and I’m pretty flexible with range depending on the service as i dont mind driving out far for a whole day of sitting
Lake Grove dog parents share their Rover experiences
As always, Emma and Trent are the best. We’ve been lucky that they’ve been available when we needed someone to care for our girls while we needed to be away for several hours. We added another pup this time and Emma was welcoming to her as well. Dowdy, my granddaughters Chesapeake Bay Retriever can be a little excitable so we had a short meet and greet before we left for the evening. The meet and greet went exceptionally well so we felt very comfortable leaving all three of our furry girls with Emma and Trent. We highly recommend Emma and Trent to anyone needing a sitter for their furry friends. Our girls live them as well!

Kim is reliable, communicative, and amazing with animals! She has been doing drop in visits for our puppy for several months now and we have nothing but good things to say about her! She has helped worked on many tricks and behaviors with our dog to keep her mentally stimulated during her visits and she’s amazing about not encouraging unwanted behaviors like jumping that we are working on. Highly recommend her! We have been recommending her to all our friends!!

Kelly came by ahead of time to go over Cookie’s care instructions, even in the rain, which I really appreciated. She was punctual, attentive, and took the time to understand everything thoroughly. That level of commitment gave me a lot of confidence going into the booking.
