“Having just moved to Long Island, my husband and I were in search of a reliable dog sitter for our dog, Kilo. We always had friends watch him in Miami, and were a bit nervous leaving Kilo with a stranger for 3 nights. Initially, we checked out some kennels in the area, and found them quite depressing. “Dawn literally saved our vacation. I found out two days before our vacation that our doggie day camp was closing due to an illness going around the dogs. I searched other day cares and dog sitters on Rover and everyone was booked! (It is August vacation time!) Dawn responded that she had one spot open and agreed to meet in a few hours for a meet and greet. Dawn put me at ease by asking lots of questions about our dog, Baci, and taking careful notes. She deals with significant anxiety and back-leg pain, so I was nervous about leaving her in a new space with a stranger, but I had nothing to worry about. She settled in quickly and even felt comfortable enough to trick Gerald into getting off the couch so she could steal his spot. Although she’s usually reluctant to be active, she went on several walks with him. Gerald was also great about sending regular photos and updates, and very flexible when I ran late for pickup.
