“Kyle is an outstanding pet/house sitter. He let Harvey sit in his lap while working, and let him sleep with him, took him to the vet, gave him a bath…… He was exceptional. Kyle also took excellent care of my home and left the house spotless! During our time away, he was very good about texting me and sending pictures of Harvey. He always responded to my texts immediately. I had no worries the 20 days I was gone. I highly recommend Kyle !”

“Michael is such a wonderful dog sitter! I always know my pup is in the best hands when he’s around. Whether it’s house sitting, drop-in visits, or dog walking, he’s professional, reliable, and communicates every step of the way. We feel so lucky to have found such a caring and responsible pet caretaker!”

“I can’t say enough good things about Ruth! She took amazing care of our three dogs. Each of our pups has their own quirks and needs, and she handled everything with such professionalism, patience, and genuine affection. We got regular updates and adorable photos that gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. When we returned, the dogs were happy, calm, and clearly well-loved. The house and backyard was spotless, too! Reliable, kind, and clearly passionate about animals — we feel incredibly lucky to have found Ruth. Highly recommend to anyone looking for trustworthy, top-notch pet care!”

“London was great! She was extremely responsive, respectful and flexible. She took great care of Dogman, sent picture updates and made sure we stayed informed. I would definitely book with her again!”

“Kayla did such a good job watching our pups while we were gone. She updated me multiple times a day and made sure the dogs were happy and loved. We came back to a spotless house as well. We highly recommend her for any pet/house sitting needs.”

“Marisol watched my sweet girl who I was recovering from my very serious deep eye ulcer. This required her to put in antibiotic eye drops in both of my dog’s eyes three times a day. I was nervous about hiring a sitter because I wasn’t sure how they would be able to handle this, however, Marisol made sure to ask a lot of questions and was able to give my dog all of her drops! I’ve always had family members take care of my dog whenever I go on vacation, but I moved out of state and so I had to rely on a sitter. Marisol was very responsive, she was on top of all of my dogs antibiotic eye drops, and helped put my mind at ease while I took a long weekend trip away.”

“I was so impressed with Amalia's attention to detail and compassion for my baby, Fitty (my cat-son). Amalia made me feel so comfortable so I could really enjoy myself away. Thanks so much Amalia, you did a great job and I will be hiring you again!”

“I would highly, highly recommend Kristie! She did such an amazing job with our dog Josie, who had just lost her sister a few days before we went away. Kristie made sure that Josie was comforted and had all the extra love and care so she didn't feel lonely. We also received daily pictures and updates so we knew Josie was well taken care of. Having lost a dog before we left, we were uneasy about leaving Josie behind. But Kristie made us feel 100% like Josie was in the best hands and we knew she genuinely cared for her like she was her own. That was very meaningful to us. And, when we returned home, Kristie left a very thoughtful gift for us, which was a plant in memory of the dog we had just lost. I can't say how much that meant to us. Again, highly, highly recommend Kristie!”

“Ella stayed with our 2 dogs in our home for a few nights and did a wonderful job from start to finish. She communicated very professionally before, during, and after the stay. She provided daily and detailed updates with pictures. One of our dogs generally shows signs of anxiety after we get home from a trip, but that hasn't been the case this time. Ella made sure that when she did leave the house during her stay, it wasn't for more than 8 hours per our request to ensure the dogs had their necessary bathroom breaks. It's very clear that Ella takes good care of the pets she is watching, as if they are her own. We will absolutely be booking with Ella again in the future and highly recommend her to anyone else considering her.”

“Jill was SO STELLAR! My dogs are a HANDFUL, and she completely unphased, calm, and kind with my dogs. She sent me pics and updates while I was gone and was so reassuring. I feel like I have a new lease on my life knowing I can leave my dogs in good hands.”

“Barbara always takes such good care of our dogs! She stayed at our house this time and did a wonderful job. We love receiving the regular updates she sends. We know Dixie and Cupid are in great hands with Barbara!”

“Lynnsee was great! She came for a meet and greet a few days before and hit it off right away with our three Great Danes. She was prompt, sent lots of adorable pics, followed our care/feeding/medicine requests and left the house spotless as a bonus! The pups had a great time and were in fantastic condition when we got home. We’ll definitely use Lynnsee again!”

“Kiana is amazing with my very shy dog and takes wonderful care of my pack. I highly recommend her bc her vet clinic background. She is literally prepared to handle any issue that can come up.”

“Megan did an amazing job watching our two big dogs! She followed every little detail of instructions we left and kept the house in great condition. Our dogs have polar opposite personalities and she was able to accommodate to both of them so well. We really appreciated her great communication while we were gone and would highly recommend using her!”

“Deborah was fantastic! She stayed in touch daily. She brushed Piper sometimes twice a day! She walked her every day multiple times. Played ball with her and definitely took her for a really fun car ride! Deborah also took fantastic care of our house! We will most definitely use her again.”

Randy was awesome! Our three big doggos loved him! He took special care and patience to deal with all of their quirky eating habits and gave medications as instructed. He sent us pictures several times and communicated clearly. Will keep Randy in mind for our next trips!

Marisol is absolutely amazing! She consistently goes above and beyond when caring for our husky, Mishka, treating her like she’s part of the family. We always have complete peace of mind knowing Mishka is in such loving, dependable, and attentive hands. We couldn’t ask for a better dog sitter and highly recommend Marisol to anyone looking for exceptional pet care!

Kyle did an amazing job. Not only did he love and care for our fur babies but he also spent the night with them. He watered our garden and brought in the mail. Our dogs weren’t overly stressed with us being gone. We can tell because their pops have been solid. As you dog lovers may know. He left the house spotless. We were able to enjoy our trip knowing the girls were in good hands. We will definitely use Kyle again.

Jeremy stayed at our home for a week with our fur babies. He took great care of them, sent pics and videos, and kept us updated all week. We were lucky to have him! He not only watched our babies, but grabbed the mail, watered the plants, and even washed the sheets after staying at our home. Above and beyond and greatly appreciated! Hire them if you need a great sitter for your fur babies

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rowlett walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rowlett maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rowlett choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
