“Marisol watched my sweet girl who I was recovering from my very serious deep eye ulcer. This required her to put in antibiotic eye drops in both of my dog’s eyes three times a day. I was nervous about hiring a sitter because I wasn’t sure how they would be able to handle this, however, Marisol made sure to ask a lot of questions and was able to give my dog all of her drops! I’ve always had family members take care of my dog whenever I go on vacation, but I moved out of state and so I had to rely on a sitter. Marisol was very responsive, she was on top of all of my dogs antibiotic eye drops, and helped put my mind at ease while I took a long weekend trip away.”

“Michael is AMZAZING!! He treated our pups as his own and sent me continuous updates without me having to ask. I did not worry one bit with my babies being in his care. Will use him every time we need to!”

“Kobi loved Jasmine. I had nothing to worry about while on vacation. I received constant updates which gave me that peace of mind. Glad I trusted her with my baby! Will be booking again.”

“Barbara always takes such good care of our dogs! She stayed at our house this time and did a wonderful job. We love receiving the regular updates she sends. We know Dixie and Cupid are in great hands with Barbara!”

“Ava helped us out for a very last minute weekend trip. Our home and our fur babies were very well taken care of. She was quick at responding to our messages and sent plenty of pictures and videos. We will definitely be recommending her to our friends and will be rebooking with her! Thanks again, Ava!”

About: **NOTICE** Austin pet parents!!! I will be “out of service” for the following dates (June 14th-August 17th) I will be OUT of town :(. (Temporarily located in Dallas, TX) For repeat clients or anyone interested in details, please contact me!!! Hi Pet Parents! If you are looking for reliable and loving care for your companion(s), I’m your girl! I have cared for animals since childhood, sitting, playing, walking, and training for family and friends and growing up with my own dogs, cats, and reptiles. I’ve studied textbooks and kept logs of training with my dogs since middle school. I helped raise 2 litters of puppies and have rescued cats and dogs throughout the years. I’m currently a college student looking to make extra money, and not being allowed my own dogs to live with me at College has sucked. Though, being able to have the opportunity to care for others pets has been so rewarding! I’m here to care for your companions as if they were my own! I work part time late afternoons/evenings and have classes from noon to early afternoons. I am open to caring for your pets in the early mornings and late evenings. I’m always open to negotiating a schedule that works for you as well! Unfortunately, I’m not allowed pets in my apartment. Although I am available to care for your pets while you’re on vacation at your home, daily check-ins and walks around the neighbourhoods ! Back home I take my dogs to the park or the arts district to meet other dogs for socialization and exercise! I’m open to most activities with your pets!!
“Kendra was amazing watching my boys Oliver and Sebastian. Oliver is special needs and has epilepsy so he needs meds 3x a day. Kendra had no issue administering his meds and making sure my baby was okay and taken care of. she even let me know each time she gave his meds so my mind was at ease. She made me very comfortable as I haven’t left my boys with anyone before. I am so glad I found her and will continue to use her services because I know Ollie and Bash will be well taken care of.”

“Hailey was really great!! She was very calm with the dogs and very dependable. She stayed in our house with our 2 dogs, and it was obvious the dogs liked her. She also left the house spotless!”

“Lynnsee was great! She came for a meet and greet a few days before and hit it off right away with our three Great Danes. She was prompt, sent lots of adorable pics, followed our care/feeding/medicine requests and left the house spotless as a bonus! The pups had a great time and were in fantastic condition when we got home. We’ll definitely use Lynnsee again!”

About: I love animals, especially dogs and cats! I’ve been obsessed with them since young. I’ve volunteered at shelters and worked at veterinary offices. I’ve raised energetic puppies and cared for a handful of elderly dogs. I am pet CPR and first aid trained. I would love to meet your fur baby and see if my pets and home are a good fit for their stay! This is a side business for me as I am a remote worker who just wants to add more income and joy to her life. I would follow the same schedule your pet receives at home (feeding time, sleep, potty breaks, etc). I have a 6 foot tall wooden fenced yard and a husky girl who has the energy to play all day but if your pet tells her they aren’t interested, she will understand (with a sad face of course). I like to think of pets as family so the couches and beds are not restricted to them. I use free and clear laundry detergent and natural home cleaners. I also do not feed table scraps unless it is okayed by the parent -even then it would be pet safe scraps. I know dog CPR and first aid. I am also aware of what foods to avoid and take allergies very seriously. My yard is regularly treated for any fleas or ticks.
“Debbie is amazing! She is prompt, professional and a joy to be around. Keegan got so many walks and we got photos and videos. On the day of our meet and greet, she texted to confirm. Highly recommend and will be using her again!”

“Haley is the best sitter we have had! She takes the time to meet and understand your dogs’ needs first. I really appreciate all the updates she provides-videos, photos and messages so you know what is going on with your babies. She is extremely kind to my dogs and communicates very well. Highly recommend!”

“Maddy watched my dogs for the weekend and was great! She had great communication and was very tidy and respectful of our house. My dogs looked so happy in the photos she sent. I also appreciated how much time she spent at the house as one of my dogs struggles with separation anxiety, so knowing someone was spending time with him really eased my concerns while we were away and helped me focus more on our trip!”

“Molly was absolutely amazing. She communicated clearly and provided daily updates, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. She was also fully prepared to administer medications to our two senior dogs without any issues. All of our babies clearly loved her, and we came home to a clean house and happy, healthy pets. We’re so grateful for the wonderful care she provided! 🐾”

“Cristina did a great job watching my new dog Dolly when I went out of town for a week just two weeks after adopting my 7-month-old shelter dog. Dolly was still figuring out my house and yard and cat, Lulu. Christina helped with Dolly’s training and kept me updated with news and progress. I did not worry about my pets while I enjoyed visiting my new twin grand daughters. Thanks, Cristina!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Rose Hill on Rover is $55 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 4,329 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Rose Hill. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rose Hill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rose Hill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rose Hill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rose Hill. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
