“Our boys love people.. so we were happy to find Molly who could house sit with them. (normally people think cats can be left alone but our boys are social!) While we were gone we received updates and photos to let us know how they were doing. We came home to a cleaned up house and happy kitties. Will definitely reach out to Molly if we need sitting in the future.”

“Elayna was so amazing!! During the pre-meeting, she came prepared with great questions. She kept us updated and sent us great pictures of our happy puppy over the weekend. We will definitely be requesting her services in the near future!”
“Heather was absolutely amazing! With a senior dog with some medical issues we had her come stay in our house while we were away. She followed all instructions and gave us a daily update of cuteness with a picture. All of the dogs meds were administered and he got a daily walk. I would absolutely recommend Heather to others.”

“This was our first time entrusting Patrick with our house and pups. We were quite confident in our decision when, during the meet and greet, Patrick inquired about our care routines in detail, which we hadn’t been asked before. Throughout our trip, Patrick kept us informed about our pups’ well-being by sending us pictures of their adventures. We appreciated receiving these updates as they allowed us to stay connected while we were away. We highly recommend Patrick for future dog-sitting needs and believe he would be a great fit for your requirements as well.”

“Traisaun does a great job with our fur kids. We can always tell how good of a time they had by how excited they are when we get back. Even though we were gone for the weekend, they barely acted like we had gone to the store, which means they barely missed us not being here. Even the rabbit, who doesn’t like everyone, looks around for Traisaun after he leaves. Aside from being great with our fur kids, Traisaun is very reliable and trustworthy. We will continue to hire Traisaun as long as we can!”
“Sydney did an AMAZING job watching our dogs. We have one reactive dog and there was some tension in our house between dogs, plus two have medical needs. so I was so so nervous to leave them. Sydney followed all my instructions and she even watched for signs of tension, healthy play, etc. Truly above and beyond—she spent a ton of time at my house and I came back to very happy dogs. Would definitely recommend her to folks like me with dogs that require a sitter who pays extra attention and care!”
“Emma did wonderfully with our dogs and had a real connection. Very responsive and allowed us to extend our stay by a day last minute due to a personal family emergency. Highly recommend!”

“Darra did a great job watching our dog Ozzy while we were away. We also came home to a clean house, which we really appreciated. We will definitely use Darra again!”

“Evan did a wonderful job watching my two rescue babies and our home for 5 nights. He is kind, reliable and detail oriented. His communication is clear and timely. I was able to relax while I was away because I knew they were in loving and capable hands. I will definitely be rebooking in the future!”

“This is the second stay that Riley has had with our pets. As with the first, the care was excellent. Our cat needed extra attention because she has developed an eye condition. Riley did a great job! We appreciate her so much!”

“Autumn did a great job with Mack & Aries while I was traveling on a work trip. They were both comfortable with her and I will not hesitate to use Autumn again for future house sitting needs.”

“Had previously used Kaitlyn for a drop in for 3 little dogs who have pea sized bladders and require walks every 3 hours. They also don't always agree on routing which is to say they are not necessarily easy to walk. This time, she stayed at our home for 4 days. All went perfectly. Kaitlyn is meticulous about following directions give and is genuinely concerned about providing the same level of care that pups get from their owners. We give Kaitlyn 12 paws up and plan to use her often.”
“Gabrielle took great care of our cats and was in constant communication with us about how they were doing, including cleaning up a plant that one had knocked over. She also sent lots of pictures which was appreciated.”

“Claire was great! Was happy to have her stay with Colby while we were gone. She communicated well and I felt my dog was safe and well cared for with her. Would use her again for my dog needs!”

“Kacy was wonderful! Birch absolutely loves her and he was very, very well cared for. Kacy was extremely good with communication. She shared many pictures and ‘Birch stories” with us during her stay which was much appreciated. Kacy went above and beyond to help with something non-Birch related while we were gone as well. When we returned, we couldn’t even tell that she had been here, everything was exactly as we had left it! We will definitely be checking her availability the next time we travel!”

“Lindsey was awesome! Incredibly communicative and sent lots of sweet photos of our gals. They were wonderfully cared for and were very happy. Would absolutely book again!”

Cheyenne was a fabulous pet sitter for our two dogs and cat! She was professional, attentive, detail-oriented, and truly treated our pets like they were her own. She spent lots of time with them and kept us updated throughout our trip. We would recommend Cheyenne to anyone looking for someone to care for your pets! We will certainly be reaching out to her again.

Megan is a gift. She took such good care of my babies while I was away. My senior Chihuahua gets pretty moody when I am away. He refuses to eat. Megan is magical and got him to eat. She also brought in my packages and put my pet food way. She is definitely a gifted person. Highly recommend.

We were blessed to have Riley house-sit and care for our 3 kitties for us while we were away on our honeymoon. Our boys were happy and healthy when we got home. I felt very safe that she would care for the cats with love. When we got home our house was very clean as well! We found her to be caring, trustworthy, and conscientious. Highly recommend!

Julia was great! She stepped in when a different sitter canceled a week out from our trip. Our dog and cat both really liked her, the house was well cared for, and she communicated well when there were concerns. Would book with her again in the future for sure!

Danielle was great with Brick! She communicated really well from the start and asked all the right questions during our meet and greet, which made me feel confident leaving him in her care. While I was away, she sent regular updates and photos, and it was clear that Brick was comfortable and being well taken care of. I also felt completely comfortable having Danielle in my home. She was reliable, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure Brick was happy and cared for. I would definitely recommend her and would be happy to have her watch Brick again!

Heather is an A+ sitter! Our home and cats were in great hands while we were on an 8 day international trip. Heather checked in every day to let me know how the boys were doing, and left everything exactly the way we left it. She also helped with making sure the trash got put out and other household things. Our cats were happy and healthy, and our home was safe and clean while we were gone. I’m so grateful for Heather and would 100% ask her to stay again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Reserve Township walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Reserve Township maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Reserve Township choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
