I started petsitting for friends in 2017 and took on more work during the pandemic. I love animals and understand how important it is to trust the person caring for them when you're away and not able to do so directly, and it's just as important for your pet(s) to feel at ease and well taken care of, too. Meeting each animal where they're at socially and energy-wise is crucial to providing quality pet care, and I try my best to do so, especially for shy, skittish cats and introverted dogs. I've been told I'm good with senior dogs, and have found those clients to be particularly rewarding. Whether your adult dog wants to hang out at the dog park for an hour, go for a long walk, or take a long nap, I'm down. Recently I was lucky enough to build on prior experience and knowledge around caring for small mammals - I'd love to have take on more care of rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, chinchillas, and other smaller furry guys. I have experience with multi-pet households and pets with medical needs, and am practiced at administering oral medications, with some experience giving subcutaneous fluids for cats. I'm also familiar with different diets (low-phosphorous, raw, kidney or urinary care, etc.); if your pets have any needs that I don't have prior experience with, I would love to learn! Currently I am available to watch cats and kittens of all ages, small mammals, and adult dogs.
