“Akira and Marcella did a great job with our 2 dogs. One can be aggressive towards stangers but she was comfortable with them right away. They also left the place cleaner than when they arrived! Highly recommend.”

“Heather was great and provided all the peace of mind we needed while we went to visit family. I let her know ahead of time that I was a bit anxious, and she was very punctual, communicative, and understanding. She sent regular updates, and was patient in letting our senior dog warm up to her while she stayed in our home. She was flexible and able to stay on top of our dog's needy meds/food schedule, and we came back to a happy, healthy pup. Our primary concern was our dog's care, but it was a bonus that Heather was a clean and respectful houseguest. We'd love to book with her again in the future :)”

“She was amazing, was able to book her last minute and she was very good with communication. She sent photos and videos while she was over watching our dog and even left a note! Would highly recommend and will definitely be using her again!”

“Anne is great and I would highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs. She is communicative and my dog warned up to her quickly, he could just sense how open and caring she is to dogs.”

“Patrick did an outstanding job caring for our dog and home. He was attentive, responsible, and kept us well-informed with great communication throughout. Our dog was clearly well cared for, and we returned to a spotless house. We would not hesitate to book him again and highly recommend him to others.”

“Gabrielle took great care of our cats and was in constant communication with us about how they were doing, including cleaning up a plant that one had knocked over. She also sent lots of pictures which was appreciated.”

“David was a fantastic sitter for my dog and cat. He asked questions to make sure he would maintain their normal routines when needed and sent regular updates/photos. They were both very well taken care of and very comfortable with David, which I can say confidently as my cat didn’t even give me the cold shoulder when I came home (as he’s been known to do). Thanks so much David, hopefully you’ll be available the next time I need a sitter!”

“Traisaun stayed over a weekend with our 2 elderly dogs and cat. He sent pictures each day to keep us updated on their wellbeing and all were very happy when we returned. He is also very prompt with timing and kept our home tidy. We’ll be calling Traisaun the next time we need a sitter!”

About: I grew up with a reactive black lab, so I know how to handle leash pulling and how to deescalate and prevent fights. In her old age, I learned to accommodate her failing joints. I’ve been trained at the Licking County Humane Society in Ohio as a volunteer dog walker, which has well equipped me to understand and respond respectfully to dog language. I further pursue this knowledge by reading about how dogs communicate with us, and by observing and analyzing their behavior both in real life and online. This will be my primary commitment, so I can easily cater to your schedule to fit your pets needs. Mornings, evenings, weekends, whatever you need, except Thursdays :) I will take great care to follow your instructions and respect the rules of your home and needs of your animal(s). I cannot accept boarding in my own home at the moment.
“Sampson had a great time with Allicia. Allicia kept us informed while we were gone and sent us a couple photos each day of Sampson. Would definitely recommend Allicia.”
“My dog Serena fell in love with Regan. I came home to two well taken care of pets. Regan always sent me updates, and when I returned the house was clean and orderly. I will definitely use Regan again in the future.”

“Rachel was a wonderful in-home dog sitter. In addition to being a perfect house guest, she was so kind and caring to my senior pup. She was communicative and left everything in perfect order. Ziggy says he would highly recommend her and would give her 6 stars if he could!”

“Hannah stayed with Ginger for a week and she did a fantastic job! She kept me updated on everything that was happening and would also send pictures of him throughout the week. She’s very communicative and shows a lot of care”

“Highly recommended! Elayna was wonderful. She made sure to keep us updated on when she got to our place, walked and fed our puppy, and even our puppy’s naps. She sent us photos and even in the pictures it looked like our puppy, Lima was smiling with her there. Elayna was flexible, communicative, and very kind. We will definitely be booking her in the future for Lima.”

“Mariah continues to be a fantastic dog sitter and house guest. Mariah keeps in touch, and sends updates on the happenings of the dog while we are out. She is a very respectful house guest, and we always look forward to having her take care of our dog! 10/10, please use Mariah!”

“Cam went above and beyond to comfort our dog during 4th of July fireworks! Our dog was well taken care of, and clearly felt comfortable with Cam.”

“She was amazing! Kept in contact and sent several pictures of both kitties every day. She was very accommodating of every request for our special-needish kitties and kept up with the demanding medication schedule. Definitely someone we will trust again!”

“Rachel was fantastic! She was able to fill in for us last-minute when our regular sitter had a scheduling conflict, and took excellent care of our animals and our house! We really appreciate how flexible and accommodating she was, and were very happy with her communication skills, which included frequent updates along with pictures of our pets. We would easily recommend her services to anyone else looking for a sitter!”

“Julia house sat/stayed with my dog Otis. She was really great with him, sent pictures, and my place was clean when I got home. She was also very responsive. This was my first time using rover and it was a super positive experience thanks to Julia. I’d recommend her for sure!”

Autumn was amazing with my puppy! Emmett is definitely a handful and she handled him so well. He is an 11 month old lab and we are deep in adolescence. The daily updates, pictures, and videos were wonderful. I would recommend her to anyone I know that needed help with their pets and will reach out to her again the next time I need a sitter.

Sid did a wonderful job spending overnights at our house with our three pups while we were travelling. They each have their own nuances, needs and medications. They are a playful handful when they are together. Sid handled them easily! She fed them, gave meds, took them out, played with them, and kept them from destroying the house while we were gone. We will use her services again. Highly recommended!
Laura was great! She stayed at my house, for 4 nights, with my 12 year old dog and 2 cats. She kept me informed the entire time, sending me pictures and letting me know how the animals were doing. I felt completely at ease with her being in my home and I was able to enjoy my daughter’s wedding weekend without worry. I highly recommend her.

Our pup is wary of strangers and takes some time to warm up. Zoe understood the assignment perfectly - she is an amazing pet sitter. She had Samantha won over on the first day of the stay which gave us peace of mind to enjoy our 10 day trip. She communicated daily, asked questions when she had them and left the house in perfect order. We will definitely use her in the future!

This was our second time having Trai stay with our dog. Just like last time, Trai provided us with regular updates, followed our directions to a tee, and left our home in perfect condition. We came home to a happy and healthy pup! Will definitely be booking woth Trai again!

Rachel was a wonderful in-home dog sitter. In addition to being a perfect house guest, she was so kind and caring to my senior pup. She was communicative and left everything in perfect order. Ziggy says he would highly recommend her and would give her 6 stars if he could!

June was so great with our older finicky girls. They are picky about who they like, & they definitely warmed up to June right away. June took pictures, communicated well & let us know when we were running out of dog items. We were very pleased & look forward to hiring June again!

Cheyenne was a fabulous pet sitter for our two dogs and cat! She was professional, attentive, detail-oriented, and truly treated our pets like they were her own. She spent lots of time with them and kept us updated throughout our trip. We would recommend Cheyenne to anyone looking for someone to care for your pets! We will certainly be reaching out to her again.

Emma did a fantastic job taking care of our dog Luna. Luna is 17 years old, so needless to say she needs help with medications, special food, frequent potty breaks and getting up/down the stairs in our home. Emma managed all of her needs well. She was also very helpful bringing in packages/mail. She left our home very clean. I will be hiring her again in the future. Thank you Emma!

Megan is a gift. She took such good care of my babies while I was away. My senior Chihuahua gets pretty moody when I am away. He refuses to eat. Megan is magical and got him to eat. She also brought in my packages and put my pet food way. She is definitely a gifted person. Highly recommend.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bloomfield walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bloomfield maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bloomfield choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bloomfield. On Rover:

- 92% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
