“Valerie has been wonderful to work with! I feel so comfortable leaving Finn with her, and he seems to welcome her company. She’s also very responsive and gives detailed summaries. I definitely recommend her!!”

“Alexander took my girl Korra out twice a day for a few days and was amazing! My girl Korra can be very stubborn about where she wants to go on her walks, but he was patient and did great. Thanks again!”

“Lyla was great. Communication was easy from the start, and she was reliable about showing up every day we had scheduled. No chasing her down for updates, no last minute cancellations. If you’re looking for a dog walker you can actually count on, she’s a good pick.”

About: Hello! My name is Rachael, and I'm a graduate student who loves animals. My black cat, Zelda, has lived and traveled with me through six different countries and now lives with me here in Pittsburgh. I was raised in a household full of dog people and always lived with at least two dogs at any given time, so I have a lot of experience caring for and playing with dogs of various sizes and personalities. I also am experienced with caring for various other kinds of pets, from hedgehogs to lizards to fish to frogs. I'm a PhD student with a lot of flexibility in my schedule, so I typically schedule walks and drop-ins for the morning or evening. I also have no classes on Fridays and a lot of flexibility on weekends! I like to fit walks and visits into my daily routine in a way that helps me to get some extra steps in. When petsitting in a client's home, I always review all the instructions carefully. It's helpful for me to know as much as possible about the pet, such as any health or behavioral concerns I should be aware of, likes and dislikes, etc. I always respect a pet's boundaries and prioritize their safety and wellbeing. I also make sure to check in with the client regularly and alert them immediately of any concerns that need to be brought to their attention.
About: I am an experienced petsitter who has worked in a professional, insured capacity (for Heavy Petting Petsitting) for over a decade. I also have experience working as an Adoptions Counselor at the Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh, where I was trained in the “Fear Free”, positive reinforcement-focused method of animal training and handling. I have an extensive understanding of both canine and feline body language and behavior, and have worked with dogs and cats of all breeds and personality types! Updated rates reflect current gas prices and road closures. Thank you for understanding! I’m a college professor who has wide availability during the summer months. During the fall, my daytime schedule may be more restricted, but I am usually at home at least a couple of days of the week! I have a household of a dog (cattle dog mix) and two kitties who are all very animal friendly! However, if your fur baby is not a fan of other animals, I am happy to stay at your home and follow your preferences as far as house conduct goes.
“Heather is a wonderful loving dog walker who's always looking for a way to make each walk fun and interesting for our very curious jindo dog! He can't wait to see her each day and we feel the same!”

“Daniel was available very last minute to walk Clover when my plans changed for the day. He took care to make sure she was comfortable on a hot afternoon and was great with communication. We would book with him again!”

“Brittani walked my pup for the first time tonight. I needed someone to walk him last minute and Brittani was available very quickly. She fed and walked Harry and also posted little updates to her Instagram page from her walk with Harry. Would definitely recommend her and will use her again!!”
“Krista was great. Zoe immediately loved her and Coby didn’t mind the wake up call from the couch to meet his new friend. Dogs were walked, fed, and given treats as requested. Proper leash, walking perimeter followed, house locked, and key promptly returned. We even received a picture of the walk. Neither dog expressed any separation anxiety while their humans were on a day trip. I was super happy and will call on Krista in the future. Dogs give her 5 woofs!”

“Adisyn went above and beyond to care for our older dog and home. I would highly recommend her and will absolutely contact her in the future. You would be lucky to have her care for your pet!”

“Ann has been walking Hank for the past month. She has been so dependable and conscientious. Hank is sweet but he can be obstinate about walking. Ann has gone above and beyond to work with him and help him trust her. Hank loves her!”
About: I have had dogs in my household since I was a baby. I moved to pittsburgh in 2021, and before that was living with my parents who had four dogs! Right now, I have 3 cats. I love to dogsit and spend time with other people's babies! I have experience in dog sitting, and have spent some time working in dog daycare/boarding. I am currently not working a typical job so I am available 7 days a week most weeks and can spend all of my time with your pet if needed! I am dedicated to keeping your pets safe and happy by keeping a close eye on them and making sure that they are loved and cared for.

About: I’m one of those people who will remember your dog’s name long before I remember yours (apologies in advance). I’ve had dogs for much of my life, including my Golden Retriever and a Lab (who passed over the Rainbow Bridge due to old age). Still grieving those losses, we foster dogs through Bark About It Rescue, which include long-term fosters who lived with my family for months at a time. All that being said, I’m very familiar with the walks, the zoomies, the stubborn streaks, the mysterious things that absolutely MUST be sniffed, that treats and scritchy-scratches are life, and the fact that every dog comes with their own personality and quirks. I’m an equal-opportunity dog lover — from little cuties with attitude to big, goofy pitties and everything in between. I’m comfortable with energetic walkers, rescue pups, and dogs who are shy, cautious, or need a little extra time to warm up. I don’t expect your dog to immediately love me. I’m happy to earn it. I also take the responsibility seriously. You’re trusting me with a member of your family — and, in many cases, your home. I’ll follow your instructions, respect your dog’s routine, keep you updated, and make sure your pup gets plenty of attention while they’re with me. And yes, there will be photos. Lots of photos. I work full-time in nonprofit comms so photos are just what I do. Whether we’re getting some serious miles in or your dog’s idea of a “walk” is spending 20 minutes investigating three mailboxes, I’m happy to follow their lead. You handle the schedule. I’ll handle the walks, belly rubs, poop bags, and photographic evidence that your dog had *the best* dog day. I work from home two days a week and am home on weekends, making Thursday through Sunday (with some additional flexibility) my best days to connect with your pup during the morning, afternoon, or evening hours. Your dog’s safety and comfort always come first. I’ll follow your instructions, keep a close eye on their surroundings and body language, and respect your home and routine. And please tell me all their quirks and favorites!
“Luke is awesome. He shows up on time.... And he's always mindful of my babies When walking them. He is quick to tell me how they did.And anything special that I need to know. Luke is exceptional, and I would highly recommend him.!!!”

“Times did a wonderful job walking our two dogs mostly while we were at work. She was on time, made sure our home was secure and the dogs were well cared for. Rudy and Dasher both said they loved spending time with her! We will definitely use her again!”

About: I grew up living with cats and loving dogs, so transitioning into pet care in 2014 was a no brainer. During my years of dog walking with a DC based company, I met everyone from leash reactive large dogs to old dogs that needed to be carried down the stairs to do their business. I am no stranger to medication management and have cared for dogs with anxiety, dietary restrictions, UTIs (hello, vet visit!) and even terminal illness. I’m very communicative and I will absolutely send you photos of your pets. I can’t wait. At the moment, my only regular obligations are local comedy shows/mics at night and the occasional bartending shift if someone calls out. Other than that, my schedule is your animal’s schedule. My primary rule of thumb is to leave any place in at least as good of shape as I found it. I’ll sleep wherever you deem best and keep to your pet’s routines regarding food, exercise and medication. I will not invite anyone else into your home. Just let me know where any clean up tools are for cleaning up potential pet messes.

Jordan walked my dog regularly for weeks and was amazing!! She was so communicative and friendly and was very responsible with my apartment (locking it a specific way) and dog (giving treats, refilling water, etc.). I’d recommend her to anyone a million times over!!

Daniel was absolutely incredible in every way. We hate leaving our dog Wilson behind, but it makes it less painful when we have such a responsible, communicative, kind, and reliable person like Daniel to walk him while we are gone! We got detailed updates, lots of pictures, and most importantly Wilson looked extremely happy to be with Daniel every day this week. I would highly recommend Daniel and we will definitely see him again soon!!!

Sarah was wonderful! She was incredibly responsive through the Rover app and was so flexible throughout the whole process. She even took the time to come meet my pups beforehand, really listened to everything we told her about their routines and needs, and spent quality time getting to know them. One thing that really stood out was how thoughtful she was during the visit. My dogs don’t like going out in the rain, so instead of cutting the visit short, she stayed inside and played with them to make sure they still got plenty of attention and enrichment. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such caring hands.
