About: I’ve had dogs all my life and it seemed the family dogs always gravitated toward me. I can’t imagine life without them! I’ve been caring for other’s dogs ever since I got my drivers license. The first dog I watched for a family (a beautiful Alaskan husky) had diabetes and required diabetic shots twice a day. Even though it hurt to have to give him shots, I loved having the opportunity to care for dogs other than my own. Since then I’ve had the opportunity of being the go-to dog watcher for several families with several different dog (and cat) breeds. I will make every effort to give your dog the same care that I was able to give Skyler and the rest of the dogs I’ve had the great fortune of watching and taking care of. There’s not many things that give me more joy than spending time with dogs. Now that I have more time on my hands in my 30’s I have recently gotten connected with volunteering with KC Pet Project. Dogs deserve all the love in the world. I currently work from home Monday and Friday so in addition to the weekend, it opens up availability to be present for the doggie. I’m in the office Tuesday - Thursday but available for morning/evening and quick bathroom breaks over lunch. I have a fenced in backyard and ample space inside the house to make your dog comfortable. I can crate if needed, but also have rooms that can function as “dog” rooms for the periods when I need to leave the house. I have my own Belgian Malinois, who mostly does her own thing. :)

“Erika was able to meet with me on a moment's notice and was very reliable. She even worked it out to drive a little farther than she would have liked. Thank you Erika!”
“Jessica has been amazing with Ace! I broke my leg and needed some extra help to take care of him throughout the day! She has gone above and beyond. She is super responsive. I appreciate that she could come and help out very last minute! Would highly recommend booking with her as she knows what she’s doing and really loves the fur babies!”

“Billie is so wonderful! We could not peacefully go to work without her help. Our dog is always happy when I get home and the house is always locked and secured after her departure. THANK YOU!”

“Theresa is absolutely wonderful. She was so flexible in the time we needed her due to our game being delayed. She kept us up to date about the pets with severe weather in the area. Amazing!!!!”

“I have been so pleased with Kodiak walking my dog on a regular basis. I get great feedback and pictures of of Barbie out on her walk. It’s been a relief to find someone so responsible and caring. I would not hesitate to recommend Kodiak to anyone who needs a trusted dog walker or sitter!”

“Abigail was simply amazing with the dogs! She was very good with them, send frequent updates when she walked them, including pictures! You could see the happiness in their faces, and that they were enjoying their time with Abigail. It was a huge relief to know that they were being taken care of when I couldn't be there for them. I would recommend Abigail to anyone!”

About: For the past 4 years and counting I have always had a passion for the safety and well-being of all pets. I have always been surrounded by dogs and cats and want to share all the love with any pet regardless of their reactivity or love back for me. I always come with a smart and safe approach until the pup or cat can trust me. I’ve worked for a dog bar park and have professional dog walking experience here in KC where the skills not only improved me, but really made enjoy and appreciate the pet industry more. I can promise effective communication, love, patience, joy, appreciation and happiness with your pet; I want to give the same love from my own pets to yours! I push to make pet care my full time job, I have a strong and pure passion for pets all over the Kansas City area! Walks — I offer play dates at a safe environment with consent and communication with the owner as well as walks. If I have a reactive dog I ask for specifics of their triggers and then apply it to make their walk as safe as possible! At the end of their walk I am very descriptive and honest with my client! If a pup is a senior or puppy I would like to create a safe in home enrichment environment so that they can enjoy themselves! Sits — this all depends on the clients schedule for their pup for their day to day routine! I make it as comfortable for the pups as possible! My clients I currently do have, have fully trust me and the PUPdates they get from me are specific and detailed! They receive three updates per day! They are never worried or have to check in to see how their pup is doing!
About: I have loved and owned animals as long as I can remember. I was raised with dogs, and other small animals! My daughter and I lost our Ollie in August 2022 at 4 years old to lung cancer and would love to care for your pet until we are ready for our next family member. I am comfortable taking care of pets of any age. I can provide food and water bowls, blankets, dog beds, stuffed toys, and I have a medium size kennel. All you need to bring is food, treats, leash/harness and any special comfort items. My daughter loves to go outside every chance she gets so they will have a lot of outside time when the weather permits. They will be allowed to roam the house as they want and are allowed on furniture – like I said- spoiled. I love to send pictures while you are gone to share their adventures while they are here. I do work for the school district 11am-1:30pm but I will be around a majority of the time to play and take care of your family member while they are here. Any drop offs and pick ups will need to be before 9am or after 2:30pm I have a fenced in yard – it is a short fence so fence jumpers are probably not the best fit for me. We can crate them when we are gone if needed and will do our best to stick to their regular routine.
“Michaela has been walking my dogs twice a week since November. She is always on time, my dogs wait for her every day! Every day! They love Michaela, returning home exhausted and happy. She even cleans their muddy paws when they come home! Perfect dog walker.”

About: I have experience caring for dogs, cats, small mammals, horses, fish, and some reptiles. I am an animal lover through and through, so whatever kind of pet you have, I promise to care for them as if they were my own. I have extensive experience with senior dogs, diabetes management, blind and/or deaf animals, and other medical care. I am not deterred by special needs animals. If you can show me how to perform the necessary tasks, I can do them. I will ensure that your babies get their special diet, their meds (pills or injections), their specific bedtime routine, or even just their exact required number of belly rubs and forehead kisses to keep their routine as steady as possible. I love sending photos and updates so that you know your pet is happy and healthy while you are away. Looking forward to meeting you and your pet! I work fulltime Mon-Fri. I can visit before I go to work in the mornings, anytime during evenings and weekends, and I can do midday check-ins for a quick potty break or medications on my lunch break. I am currently only offering services in the client's home. I will care for your pet carefully according to your instructions and will be respectful of your home and privacy. I will make sure everything is locked up behind me before leaving and if you want me to turn the porch light on at night or bring in your mail, etc. just let me know!

About: I worked at a vet clinic for 2 years, walking, feeding, and watering the cats and dogs. My main task was to take care of and make sure the pets were comfortable. I have two large dogs of my own who are the craziest dogs ever, so I believe that I can take care of the craziest of pets. I am also an Animal Science major in college, so I have some knowledge on how to treat and take care of animals. Also, I have a passion for animals and will do anything to take care of them so they are happy. I believe that I am responsible and mature to be able to handle the most playful of pets. And one of my favorite past times is playing with my pets, so being able to play with any pet is something I strive to make fun. Pet care will fit in around my work schedule. I work everyday during the week until 4-5pm. I am available on most weekends and most weeknights if needed. I know the importance of taking care of someone's pet. They are your family member, like my dog is mine. Therefore, I will take care your pet to the best of standard.
About: I have 3 dogs of my own and have been caring for dogs for over 10 years. I have experience at a dog boarding/daycare facility as well as boarding in my own home. I am currently unavailable on weekends but, I can care for your fur babies during the week before and after work! Monday-Friday 6a-8a and 2:30p-9p I do walks and drop in visits. Please let me know if I can bring treats! (and any allergies) I am comfortable walking 2-3 dogs at a time if you are a multi-dog household. About: I’ve had pets since I was a child and have been a natural with all pets for as long as I can remember. I am knowledgeable on animal body language, specifically dogs and cats. Being aware of animal body language helps me approach and interact with animals within their comfort zone and not stress them. Your pets are your family and I strive to treat them as such! I’ve cared for people’s pets for 2 years, including dog walking, taking dogs to the dog park, pet sitting. I have also worked with reactive dogs, and leash reactive dogs. I am not a professional trainer but as someone who has adopted a reactive dog and worked with him through it to the point he is no longer reactive, I know it can be stressful. I will strive to keep your animals away from scenarios that pushes their boundaries or causes them stress. I have been called a pet whisperer, as I haven’t met a cat or dog that doesn’t warm up to me quickly and trust me. Your dogs comfort and care is important. Your fur baby is safe with me 🐾 I have a pretty free schedule. So let me know what times or days you need and I can make it work as this is my main job right now. I follow their lead first on their trust and comfort with me. To gain this trust I read their body language and allow them space to approach and interact with me as they see fit! I try to stay present and in their sight, typically by sitting on the couch or floor to show them I am not a threat and I am calm. I talk to softly and only pet if it’s invited! Once your pet shows they trust and feel comfortable they get all the lovings and pets they want. I’ll play with them and walk with them. You tell me what your pets need and I got them!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
