“Amy was fantastic - we instantly felt comfortable with her husband and her (and, more importantly, so did the dog!). She was very detail oriented, sent pictures throughout Champ's short stay and made sure Champ got plenty of exercise. I also appreciated her policy not to take multiple dogs at once. We will definitely be repeating with Amy - the whole experience was great!”

“Rhea took great care of my dog over the weekend. He was so comfortable as soon as he got there and got along great with their sweet dog. I received pictures and updates multiple times per day and could see he was calm, and happy during his visit. He had a nice little vacation of his own there with lots of walks, play time, and cuddles! Thank you !”

“Leah was an amazing sitter! She was extremely patient with my weird dog’s quirks and was excellent at sending photos and updates. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again.”

“This was Scallywag's second stay with Eric, and the pup was so excited to see them again! He dragged us right into their apartment. Drop off was convenient, communication was great, and I can tell that Scallywag had a wonderful time while I was gone.”

“It was my first time having to leave my dog, Max, with someone he did not know, and meeting Laura before going on my trip was very helpful. I felt very comfortable leaving him with her. She keeps you updated and answers questions promptly. Laura sent pictures and videos to show how Max was doing, which I really appreciated. If I need a sitter again I will definitely bring Max back to Laura, and I know he'll feel comfortable, and I will feel better about leaving him.”

“Mygan was amazing! She took such great care of my Charlie! She was so kind and thoughtful. She sent pics daily like I asked and she even did well with his medication. Thank you so much I will definitely rebook!”

“Luna loves staying with Elizabeth. She gets lots of love, walks and belly rubs. And I have peace of mind knowing my Luna is in great hands when I’m away. We are big fans of Elizabeth!”

“Tim is great! Caring, attentive, and all-around an awesome human being. Was communicative and flexible. Would definitely board any dog with him again in a heartbeat.”

“We appreciate Ginger (and Phil) so much! Our Rico and Margo are characters for sure, each with their own little quirks and needs, but Ginger is so amazing with them! She’s so caring and communicative, always making sure they’re happy and comfortable!”

“I am so thrilled to have met Yuiko. My dog, Luna, stayed with her for doggy day care earlier in the year. Yuiko took wonderful care of her. This time she stayed overnight for 4 nights. Yuiko sent me pictures showing me how happy Luna was! When I picked Luna up, she was thrilled to see me but was in no rush to leave Yuiko and her very loving family!”

“Alyssa and Marcus are the absolute best! Sam always has a wonderful time with them and Zara! They are his second family and the excitement he has when we pull up to their home is unbelievable. It warms my heart every time.”

“I would not hesitate to recommend Tony and his excellent care the next time you need to board your smallest family member. Our Molly, who is in her 14th year, had just started to display some cognitive dysfunction as well as what we perceived as sadness in the loss of her best buddy, her brother from the same litter. Tony was very attentive and observant of Molly's behavior as she tried to adjust to her new surroundings. At times she did need some extra care due to her confusion or anxiety of her situation which Tony lovingly provided, all the while making sure that we were receiving videos and feedback as to her experience.”

“Sam was amazing and took great care of our Jakey boy! I highly recommend him! Sent updates daily multiple times as well as lots of pictures. Jake got along with him very well and were definitely going to be booking again. Thank you Sam for taking such good care of our fur baby.”

“I was very happy with the care Luna received during her visit at Sarah’s! Luna has always been timid around other dogs, but she made some doggy friends while there, even letting them rest in her crate with her! Sarah took wonderful care of her, sending us pictures and even bathing her the day we picked Luna up! Definitely recommend Sarah and will have Luna visit again if we are out of town.”

“Meredith was excellent! She took the time to listen to details about my dog so that her stay went well. She has a dog friendly home and yard plus she loves the dogs! Besides caring for my dog she played with her and went for walks. Meredith was easy to book with and kept me posted during the stay. When I came for pickup my dog was relaxed and it was apparent they had bonded. Meredith exceeded my expectations in all regards.”

“Megan did a great job caring for Ruby and I appreciated that she was willing to meet up beforehand to make sure that her dog and Ruby would get along. I’d happily book Megan again!”

“Kristina was incredible! It was my first time booking a boarding session with Rover and she was so easy to work with sent me plenty of detailed updates about her fun weekend with Watson. She helped to make everything go smoothly! Thank you!!”

“I had a wonderful experience with Christine. She is incredibly experienced and truly cared for our good boy Franklin. She provided regular updates, which I really appreciated, and it was clear my dog was comfortable and happy in her care. I also love that she doesn’t have young children or other pets, and her yard provided a great space for Franklin to play and relax. Highly recommend—she’s reliable, attentive, and a true dog lover!”

“They were absolutely wonderful with Georgia and Rue! I got plenty of updates and photos, and I could tell my girls were happy and well cared for. Everything was smooth and stress-free from start to finish. I’d definitely book again and highly recommend!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Prospect Park
Khaing saved me and my pussycats, when we all had to leave our house in one day. She came and picked them up and took thoughtful and considerate care of them for a very long time. I got photos and updates on them daily. She discovered new food and snacks for my fussy eater. Although my own life was in chaos, I was happy to see the cats safe and sound. It was a wonderful experience and I recommend Khaing highly.

Appa had a great time at Cartier's house. She was very responsive and made sure to give Appa lots of love. Our dog is normally reserved / apprehensive with people he doesn't know, but they became fast friends. Appa uses an inhaler and Cartier was very helpful in making sure he got his medicine during his stay. When he came home, he was relaxed and his normal self, which is a testament to how welcoming Cartier was.

Sarah was amazing! She was incredibly accommodating with our last minute booking and made the whole experience so easy. Our boy had the best time playing with her dog, Kobe! Sarah kept us updated throughout his stay and sent lots of pictures, which we really appreciated. He came home happy, well cared for, and completely worn out from all the playing and excitement! We would absolutely recommend Sarah and would happily book with her again.

Sam was amazing and took great care of our Jakey boy! I highly recommend him! Sent updates daily multiple times as well as lots of pictures. Jake got along with him very well and were definitely going to be booking again. Thank you Sam for taking such good care of our fur baby.

Juliana took great care of our Reese while we went to the beach! She sent us updates and pictures throughout the week. Her home was clean and orderly. The great care Reese received was evident when we picked her- she was happy, and seemed so relaxed and content. We would absolutely recommend Juliana, and hope she’s able to take care of our girl on our next vacation!

Barbara was such an amazing host to our puppy Astra! She sent over plenty of pictures and a wonderful video of our pup playing with her dogs. Astra had a great time and came home absolutely exhausted which is a rare sight. Looking forward to booking with her again!

Rosie had a great time at Kevin’s house with his dog and the other pups he was boarding. She came back happy and relaxed. Kevin was very thorough when we met up, and he asked lots of questions so that I would feel safe leaving Rosie. I’m very happy with the experience and I will use Kevin again soon.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
