“Monika always takes such amazing care of our fur babies and gives us total peace of mind while we’re away. Reliable, caring, and clearly loves animals — we’re so grateful to have found her!”

“My intuition regarding Amy was spot on! She was wonderful; loving, caring and attentive to needs of my pets as well as mine. I was able to travel and enjoy my trip thanks to Amy. All was good while I was away, and at home when I arrived. I will CERTAINLY be hiring her again. Do not think twice in hiring her!!! Thank you Amy for EVERYTHING ?”

About: Hi! My name is Isabel and I truly love animals. I have several years of experience caring for pets for friends and family and I treat every dog like part of my own family. I provide a safe, calm and loving environment where your pet will feel comfortable and cared for. I enjoy walking, playing and giving dogs the attention they deserve. I always send photos and updates so you can feel relaxed while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, happiness and comfort are always my priority. During the week I am available in the mornings and early afternoons (8 AM – 4:30 PM). I attend classes from 5:30 PM to 8:15 PM, but I am available again in the evenings after that if needed. On weekends I have more flexibility and can work mornings or afternoons. I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. When I stay in a pet owner’s home, I follow their routines and instructions carefully to keep their pets relaxed and happy. I treat every pet with patience, love, and respect, just like they were my own.
“Jenna did a great job communicating while taking care of our dogs! It was clear she spent a lot of her time with them making sure they were comfortable while we were on vacation. Would definitely recommend her to dog sit!”

About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life and have taken care of family and friends’ dogs for over 10 years. I have experience with oral medications. I also speak English and Spanish fluently. I’m a teacher so I work Monday-Friday from 7:00 to 3:00. I can house-sit any day of the week including weekends and I’m completely free in the summer. I like to take care of the dogs before I leave for work by giving them some attention (i.e. cuddles) and taking care of their needs. For exercise, if there’s a fenced yard, I like to play with them outside before feeding them. I try to take them for walks as often as possible.

“Rebecca was a delight. She arrived on time and sent many photos of our dog, Kita, during her stay. She frequently updated us on how Kita was doing while we were away and gave Kita lots of play time outside and I inside. Great experience. 10/10 Would book again with her!”

About: I believe dogs are family and should be treated as such! I would love to spoil your furry friend! I’m punctual and detailed when it comes to any job. I work a full-time job. I am available in the evenings/nights and weekends. I could even make some early mornings work. If times are flexible, please let me know! I take care of pets by knowing I’m in their environment first. I make sure they are comfortable before overstepping my welcome. Walking, feeding and spoiling them with lots of love are ways I personally take care of my dog.
About: What sets us apart is that we’re a dedicated pet-loving couple, which means your pet gets double the attention, supervision, and affection. We truly treat every pet like family and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away. We’re attentive to each pet’s personality and routine — whether that means energetic walks and playtime, or calm companionship for more relaxed or senior pets. We’re also patient with shy animals and happy to follow detailed care instructions, feeding schedules, and medication needs. Pet care fits easily into our routine since we both work from home and are available throughout the day to provide attention, walks, feeding, and companionship. After we finish work around 5 PM, we have plenty of time in the evenings for longer walks, playtime, and check-ins. We occasionally go to the gym during the week, but we always plan our schedules to make sure the pets in our care receive consistent attention and reliable care. We focus on keeping pets comfortable by following their normal routines as closely as possible. In a client’s home, we make sure pets are fed on schedule, get plenty of walks, playtime, and attention, and have a clean and safe environment. We’re also happy to give medication, refresh water, and keep litter boxes clean if needed.
“Rochelle was very communicative and friendly! She sent multiple photos through out her stay which was appreciated. She did exactly what was asked and took great care of our dog. Thank you Rochelle! :)”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and cats my entire life and currently help care for three dogs at my family home. I also have hands-on experience fostering rescue dogs, so I’m comfortable with a wide range of personalities, ages, and needs. I regularly pet sit for friends and family, including both dogs and cats, and I’m confident with daily care routines like feeding, walks, playtime, and providing consistent attention. I also have CNA healthcare experience, which has strengthened my reliability, patience, and attention to detail. I treat every pet like my own and prioritize their safety and comfort. I currently live in a pet-free home, which allows me to board animals in a calm environment without other animals getting in the way. With a flexible schedule and 24+ hours’ notice, I’m able to accommodate a range of pet care requests including boarding, sitting, and drop-ins. I prioritize reliability, communication, and creating a calm, consistent experience for every pet. I prioritize safety, trust, and attentive care in every booking. As a responsible dog owner, I’m confident handling dogs of different temperaments and enjoy taking them on regular walks. You can feel assured your dog will be safe, cared for, and well looked after with me.
About: I've had animals most my life. From dogs, cats, horses, cows, pigs, rabbits, and even goats. I treat all pets as members of my own family :) I look forward to meeting yours As I'm living local and have a doggo of my very own. I'm available most evenings and weekends without issue to help take care of others pets too. As someone who's raised all sorts of animals I have a love and understanding for all animals and have experience with every age of pets as well

“Sandy was fantastic with my Bear! He was comfortable and well taken care of while I was away. My place was also well taken care of. I will gladly trust Sandy with Bear again in the future! Clear communication, cute consistent updates, and real peace of mind!”

About: Over the past four years, I’ve cared for dozens of dogs and cats for friends and family—walking, feeding, playing, and giving them love while their people were away. What started as doing favors turned into something I genuinely enjoy and feel confident doing, so I thought… why not finally offer it professionally? While I’ve never had a pet of my own (yet!), I treat every animal I care for like they’re family. I take time to learn their routines, preferences, and personalities to make sure they feel safe and happy while you’re gone. I’m attentive, gentle, and great at reading an animal’s vibe—whether they want playtime, cuddles, or just someone calm nearby. I’d love to meet your furry companion and be someone you can count on. Let’s chat about how I can help! I currently work part-time most of my work days are during the weekend so throughout the week I am home all day pretty much every day! I am to make sure I learn the routines of each of my clients and ensure that the pets feel like they are at home!
“Hailey did a superb job of taking care of our six fur babies, ranging from two senior dogs and a 4 month old Great Pryness puppy. My pack instantly loved her. She is very easy to work with, very respectful of property, and kept our house schedule for feedings. I highly recommend Hailey and will definitely higher her again.”

About: I've had dogs all my life, friends and family have relied on me to take care of their dogs. I have less experience with cats but I don't mind learning more. I love being around animals. I'm currently working part-time, I'm available to walk and dog sit all day on Saturday and Sunday, and from 5:30pm to 10pm during the week. I will care for pets in client's homes with the upmost respect. And will treat they're home as if it were mine. I will make sure your pet is happy and your house is clean.
About: I am pretty lucky to have my own business and a pretty flexible schedule. So coming up with times that works for the both of us will be the easy part. I understand trusting your fur baby with someone else even for just an hour walk can be nerve wrecking. But I can assure you I will do my best to make sure they feel safe and also have a fun time. From watching over cats to even watching a cow for a friend, being around animals is something that I enjoy. Having to give medication to dogs, picking up after them, and letting all their energy out are things I am quite familiar with and have no problem doing. I hope by seeing my profile you feel confident that I can be a good fit for a one time booking, or becoming your regular Rover user! Can’t wait to meet your furry friend! -Celina. I am self employed with a food truck and currently in my slow season and would love a part time job to keep busy. Therefore I have a very open and flexible schedule, when my busy season picks back up I will adjust my schedule. Even then I will still have time for clients and will be available. As someone who has dogs and has always had animals growing up I’m aware of how important exercise, time, and affection is to them and us! My Australian shepherd Pepper needs lots of time to let her energy out and keep her mind stimulated so I’m well trained in those departments. As well as administering medications if needed.
“Lindsey did a great job taking care of my pets! She brought in my mail and packages and left the house nice and tidy. She even thoughtfully took the garbage out the day she left.”

“Mary and Connie were absolutely amazing. The care and companionship they provided to our fur babies exceeded all of our expectations. Our home was treated as if it was theirs and was found better than we left it. You can’t go wrong with this amazing duo. They are now part of our family, wether they like it or not :)”

Emma was fantastic! We so greatly appreciate her communication, promptness, extra care, and attention to our dog, and are home! She was absolutely a pleasure to work with, and wouldn’t hesitate for a second to recommend her! We will definitely be booking again!

Jade is AMAZING! She watched our two cats and dog while we were away. She sent the best pictures of our fur babies everyday. Kept us updated and is great with response time. We definitely will be choosing Jade again in the future. I highly recommend having her!

Fantastic experience with this sitter! She stayed overnight with Jaxx and took great care of him, regular walks, fresh water, and awesome communication throughout. I really appreciated the photos and videos, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. Jaxx was clearly well cared for. Would absolutely book with her again!

Lane was amazing!!! So kind, quick to communicate and our dogs took to her immediately. I have trouble trusting if our dogs are comfortable or being taken care of to our standards and felt 0 anxiety with Lane watching them. So many pictures of them snuggling & being goofy I knew they were well taken care of! Will 100% use Lane again the future if she’s available.

Samantha is an awesome Dog Sitter! She pays incredible attention to detail, she is communicative, responsible, and always leaves my home looking better than she found it. So thankful to have found her! I always feel great when I’m leaving my dog Jackson in her care.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Progress Village on Rover is $35.25 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 4,343 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Progress Village. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Progress Village walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Progress Village maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Progress Village choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Progress Village. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
