“Jenna did a great job communicating while taking care of our dogs! It was clear she spent a lot of her time with them making sure they were comfortable while we were on vacation. Would definitely recommend her to dog sit!”

“Jennifer is great, the best pup sitter we’ve had so far. She was so caring and loving to our pup during her stay. She was in constant communication with photos and fun videos. We will definitely choose to book with her again. 10/10 recommend!”

“Monika is genuinely the best cat sitter I’ve had! She eases the anxiety of being away from my cat with all of the pictures and updates I ask for. My cat can be pretty shy and weary of new people but she loves Monika. She really spends her time giving her all the love and attention she needs. I don’t get worried about leaving her anymore because I know she’s in good hands!”

“Amy provided us with a perfect week. First of all, she got along wonderfully with our daughters, met all our needs, and communicated with us remarkably well. Honestly, it was our first time using this system, and we were quite worried at the start, but thanks to Amy, we enjoyed a safe and enjoyable one-week vacation. We wish we could give her not just 5 stars, but 100 stars. Our endless thanks to her.”

“Isabel was wonderful with Lily! She was very attentive and kept us updated throughout Lily’s stay with plenty of pictures and videos, including clips of their walks. It gave us great peace of mind knowing Lily was happy and well cared for. We would absolutely book with Isabel again. Five stars!”

About: I have hands-on experience fostering rescue dogs, so I’m comfortable with a wide range of personalities, ages, and needs. I regularly pet sit for friends and family, including both dogs and cats, and I’m confident with daily care routines like feeding, walks, playtime, and providing consistent attention. I also have CNA healthcare experience, which has strengthened my reliability, patience, and attention to detail. I treat every pet like my own and prioritize their safety and comfort. I currently live in a pet-free home, which allows me to board animals in a calm environment without other animals getting in the way. With a flexible schedule and 24+ hours’ notice, I’m able to accommodate a range of pet care requests including boarding, sitting, and drop-ins. I prioritize reliability, communication, and creating a calm, consistent experience for every pet. I prioritize safety, trust, and attentive care in every booking. As a responsible dog owner, I’m confident handling dogs of different temperaments and enjoy taking them on regular walks. You can feel assured your dog will be safe, cared for, and well looked after with me.

“Rebecca was a delight. She arrived on time and sent many photos of our dog, Kita, during her stay. She frequently updated us on how Kita was doing while we were away and gave Kita lots of play time outside and I inside. Great experience. 10/10 Would book again with her!”

“Emma was amazing while we were away while she looked after our cat. Got lots of updates and pics of our boy and the house was perfectly looked after. Will definitely book again in the future!”

“Rochelle was very communicative and friendly! She sent multiple photos through out her stay which was appreciated. She did exactly what was asked and took great care of our dog. Thank you Rochelle! :)”

About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life and have taken care of family and friends’ dogs for over 10 years. I have experience with oral medications. I also speak English and Spanish fluently. I’m a teacher so I work Monday-Friday from 7:00 to 3:00. I can house-sit any day of the week including weekends and I’m completely free in the summer. I like to take care of the dogs before I leave for work by giving them some attention (i.e. cuddles) and taking care of their needs. For exercise, if there’s a fenced yard, I like to play with them outside before feeding them. I try to take them for walks as often as possible.
“This was our second time working with Rachel and she did an excellent job taking care of our dog while we were away. She is prompt, polite, and easy to communicate with.”

“My Ollie takes a while to warm to new people but Cory did it fast with his calm, kind and confident persona. Cory has walked Ollie a few times and stayed over in my house with him, and everything went great. I appreciate that!!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was was a preteen, helping family, friends, and neighbors! I am very patient and loving with all animals and treat them as if they are my own! I am lucky enough to create my own work schedule and work from home daily. I have plenty of spare time to care for your animal. Patience with your animals is my key to success. Every animal takes time to adjust to different circumstances. I was raised to leave places better than how I found them if I am responsible for your animal in your home.

“Erin was absolutely outstanding! She was arrived on time and was extremely communicative, sending us updates daily complete with adorable photos and videos of our babies. She even went out of her way to bathe our two big pups before we returned from our trip, stripped the guest bedroom sheets, and I’m pretty sure she vacuumed for us! One of the most stressful parts of retuning from a long trip is coming home to a dirty house and dirty puppers. She made the transition home seamless and couldn’t have taken better care of our two dogs and two kitties while we were out of town for 5 days! We will definitely be booking with Erin again for our next trip!! 😊”

“Mary and Connie are amazing! We feel so safe leaving our two babies with them and they love them! We receive updates all the time and the house is super clean when we return!”

“Christian was great! My dog gets separation anxiety when I leave and anytime I asked for an update, he was quick to respond. He was very accommodating to any requests I had. Looking forward to using him again in the future!”

About: What sets us apart is that we’re a dedicated pet-loving couple, which means your pet gets double the attention, supervision, and affection. We truly treat every pet like family and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away. We’re attentive to each pet’s personality and routine — whether that means energetic walks and playtime, or calm companionship for more relaxed or senior pets. We’re also patient with shy animals and happy to follow detailed care instructions, feeding schedules, and medication needs. Pet care fits easily into our routine since we both work from home and are available throughout the day to provide attention, walks, feeding, and companionship. After we finish work around 5 PM, we have plenty of time in the evenings for longer walks, playtime, and check-ins. We occasionally go to the gym during the week, but we always plan our schedules to make sure the pets in our care receive consistent attention and reliable care. We focus on keeping pets comfortable by following their normal routines as closely as possible. In a client’s home, we make sure pets are fed on schedule, get plenty of walks, playtime, and attention, and have a clean and safe environment. We’re also happy to give medication, refresh water, and keep litter boxes clean if needed.

“Sandra has a beautiful soul. She took such good care of my babies. She sent me pictures of them made into these lovely collages that I know took time and care to create. I rebooked her for my next trip already!”

Isabel was wonderful with Lily! She was very attentive and kept us updated throughout Lily’s stay with plenty of pictures and videos, including clips of their walks. It gave us great peace of mind knowing Lily was happy and well cared for. We would absolutely book with Isabel again. Five stars!

Amazing Experience with Samantha! I recently used Rover for the first time and had Samantha watch my dog, Cookie, for the weekend, and I couldn’t have been happier with the experience! 🐾❤️ A few weeks before our booking, Samantha took the time to meet Cookie, ask questions, and learn about her personality and background. I really appreciated how caring and thorough she was from the very beginning. Samantha did an amazing job this weekend! She stayed in constant communication with me, sent me pictures and updates, and even stayed overnight with Cookie. Cookie doesn’t do well with someone just coming and going or simply letting her out and feeding her, so having Samantha there with her made such a huge difference. Cookie absolutely loved having the company! 🥰🐶 I felt completely comfortable knowing Cookie was in such good hands. Samantha was kind, responsible, communicative, and truly went above and beyond. I would definitely book Samantha again and 100% recommend her to anyone looking for someone to care for their pets. Thank you so much, Samantha, for taking such great care of our Cookie! ❤️🐾

Emma was fantastic! We so greatly appreciate her communication, promptness, extra care, and attention to our dog, and are home! She was absolutely a pleasure to work with, and wouldn’t hesitate for a second to recommend her! We will definitely be booking again!

Jade is AMAZING! She watched our two cats and dog while we were away. She sent the best pictures of our fur babies everyday. Kept us updated and is great with response time. We definitely will be choosing Jade again in the future. I highly recommend having her!

Fantastic experience with this sitter! She stayed overnight with Jaxx and took great care of him, regular walks, fresh water, and awesome communication throughout. I really appreciated the photos and videos, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. Jaxx was clearly well cared for. Would absolutely book with her again!

Lane was amazing!!! So kind, quick to communicate and our dogs took to her immediately. I have trouble trusting if our dogs are comfortable or being taken care of to our standards and felt 0 anxiety with Lane watching them. So many pictures of them snuggling & being goofy I knew they were well taken care of! Will 100% use Lane again the future if she’s available.

Samantha is an awesome Dog Sitter! She pays incredible attention to detail, she is communicative, responsible, and always leaves my home looking better than she found it. So thankful to have found her! I always feel great when I’m leaving my dog Jackson in her care.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Progress Village on Rover is $36.09 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 4,389 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Progress Village. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Progress Village walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Progress Village maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Progress Village choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Progress Village. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
