“Monika was GREAT! Communication was awesome. I got frequent photos and updates on my pups. My house was nice and tidy when we returned. I could tell that Monika was an animal lover, as my pups took right to her. Highly recommend and definitely will be using her in the future for our sitting needs.”
“Karah is truly exceptional! She went above and beyond caring for our two dogs and our home while we were away, giving us complete peace of mind. Our pups were happy, loved, and so well cared for, and our home was spotless when we returned. Her communication was outstanding, with thoughtful updates that let us fully enjoy our vacation. It’s rare to find someone this trustworthy, caring, and dependable. We wouldn’t hesitate to book Karah again and recommend her without reservation!”

“I’m honestly a little apprehensive about writing this review because I’d love to keep Victoria our little secret so she’s always available for my baby! From the moment we met her, it was obvious she genuinely loves animals, and that gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She did everything she said she would do, kept us updated with plenty of photos and videos, and made sure we always knew how our baby was doing. The updates weren’t just routine—they showed how much she truly cared, and it was easy to see that our baby was getting lots of love and attention. Knowing our pet was happy and well cared for made it so much easier to relax while we were gone. If you’re looking for someone dependable, caring, and who treats your pet like family, Victoria is exactly that. We’re incredibly grateful for the amazing care she provided, and while part of me hesitates to recommend her because I want to keep her all to ourselves, she absolutely deserves every bit of praise. We’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

“Veronica was amazing with my pets! When I arrived home I could tell that they had been well cared for! Her communication throughout the entire process was great. I loved the pictures and updates that she sent us each day. I highly recommend and I will definitely be a repeat client!”

“Rebecca was wonderful with our anxious old pup and took the time to come meet him beforehand and learn about him. Hoping she’s available to book for our other upcoming travel dates!”

“Shayla was absolutely fantastic! She was very open and friendly during our meet and greet; was able to tell my dog loved her immediately! I felt comfortable and informed the whole time I was away. Lots of pictures sent to me of my dog was so sweet to receive! I will definitely be booking with Shayla again! Thanks for taking the BEST care of Sasha 💕”
About: I have had and cared for animals my whole life, lots of dogs, cats, rodents and even hermit crabs! Additionally, I highly value your pet's wellbeing and having fun!! I am a senior in college with my classes being online, additionally I work part-time in retail. My schedule is highly flexible and I can give my full attention to your animal friends! I do not offer care in my home, however I will treat yours with the same level of respect and regard as my own. From making sure doors are closed/locked to tidying up on longer care sessions (if requested), I'm Ms. Get it done.
“Bobby was great with our 3 dogs. He took time with all of them individually and sent us photos everytime he took them out. I’m always apprehensive when we leave the dogs with new sitters due to previous incidents but Bobby put my mind at ease. I will definitely reach out to him for future sitting needs.”

About: Over the past four years, I’ve cared for dozens of dogs and cats for friends and family—walking, feeding, playing, and giving them love while their people were away. What started as doing favors turned into something I genuinely enjoy and feel confident doing, so I thought… why not finally offer it professionally? While I’ve never had a pet of my own (yet!), I treat every animal I care for like they’re family. I take time to learn their routines, preferences, and personalities to make sure they feel safe and happy while you’re gone. I’m attentive, gentle, and great at reading an animal’s vibe—whether they want playtime, cuddles, or just someone calm nearby. I’d love to meet your furry companion and be someone you can count on. Let’s chat about how I can help! I currently work part-time most of my work days are during the weekend so throughout the week I am home all day pretty much every day! I am to make sure I learn the routines of each of my clients and ensure that the pets feel like they are at home!
“Dana is the dearest sitter! This is her second homestay with our Louie and we just appreciate her so much. She treats Louie like her own and he just loves being with her. Dana is a very considerate house guest, too. We just love Dana and hope she will sit for us again!”

“Giselle pet and house sat for us over the weekend. She is such a sweet girl! She sent pictures of our pets throughout the day and we could tell that they were having a great time with her and very comfortable. She was very polite and left with all the food and water bowls full and our home clean and as it was when left. We will definitely be using her in the future!”

“Emma stayed at our home and took care of all 4 of our dogs for the week. We had 1 emergency with our oldest dog and she handled it just like we requested. We highly recommend Emma for house sitting with multiple dogs.”

About: Dogs are the best! I’ve raised a lab, a pit bull and even a mix from puppies. My childhood dogs were a lab and cockapoo so I’m used to large and medium dogs. It’s a joy to have my home open where dogs feel right at home … on the furniture, running through the patio and back yard. Funny fact … I’ve been peed on twice at a dog park, once by a Great Dane! 🤣 My teenage son (who wants a dog of every breed!) would help give cuddles and playtime on the weekends. I used gentle training methods (and lots of cheerios) with my puppies. With our previous dog, we took the PetSmart training course with our lab mix and that was really helpful. Our home and lifestyle are best suited for larger dogs. I work from home. Dogs need play time and connection as well as their own little space. Whatever they’re feeding schedule is, I would stick to that so it feels as close to their home life as it can. We never feed human food (unless directed by you) and discourage begging from the table by keeping their food near the kitchen. Our neighborhood is safe to walk if longer jaunts are called for. The door to the back porch and to the fenced yard are open when we are home. Some dogs enjoy digging holes and chasing squirrels on the fence line! The perimeter of the fence is secure and all dogs come inside when we leave the house. They just have free reign to choose when they go out and come in if we’re here with them. We have tennis balls, a frisbee to play fetch and ropes for tug of war. Occasionally, a sock is sacrificed to the game. Whatever your dog’s schedule is, we can accommodate it and they’ll be in the cuddle pile with us anytime they want. My dogs were always crate trained so I’m confident in helping a dog have their safe space and have plenty of room to set them up. I don’t currently have extra crates, so please bring yours if your dog is comfortable with that. Dog feeding time and space will be private so there’s no sneaking food or territory issues. Basically, think of this as granny’s house. I might spoil them. I won’t send them back sugared up though! I’m home all the time as I work remote. If I’m out of the house, I’ll mark the days unavailable. I have three bedrooms so dogs can have quiet space of their own or come chill with me while I work. My fence was replaced in 2024 so it’s secured and sturdy. I keep the yard mowed so it’s perfect for the dogs. With the screen porch and couches, dogs can enjoy indoors or outdoors anytime.
“Kaity & Sebastian are wonderful people. I always knew what was going on & they never left me wondering. Such peace of mind knowing our fur baby is being loved 🥰 & cared for like we do. I highly recommend them. The house was also left neat & clean, like I left it. I’m grateful 🙏🏻”

“Erin was incredibly attentive to my dogs and their needs. She was respectful of my home and left everything as she found it. It was a pleasure being able to go on my work trip with the peace of mind that my dogs were being well cared for. She kept me updated on them and even checked in on me and how my trip was going. Very sweet and thoughtful.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Adamsville
We had a wonderful experience with Victoria taking care of our two cats while we were away. She was communicative throughout the stay, sending regular photo updates that let us see our cats were happy and relaxed the whole time. We also really appreciated the meet and greet beforehand so we knew who was staying in our home and felt comfortable leaving our beloved fur babies with her, and she asked great questions that made me feel like she was taking the cat care tasks seriously! When we got home, the apartment was just as clean as we left it, and our cats were clearly well cared for. We'll definitely be booking her again for our next trip!

Ethan did such an amazing job taking care of my dog while I was away for a week! He sent so many picture and video updates, took her on so many walks and played fetch with her. He even stayed late because it started storming and my pitbull is scared of storms. Such an amazing sitter!!

Catie was fantastic! She house sat for my high-energy cat and I couldn't have asked for better care. She came over for a meet and greet first, which made me feel so much better about leaving my fur baby with her. While I was away, she sent me photo updates at every meal and even threw in some bonus pics during treat time and play sessions - I loved getting those updates! She took great care of my little guy and when I got home, my apartment was spotless. I'd recommend Catie to anyone and I'm definitely using her again next time I need a sitter!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Adamsville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Adamsville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Adamsville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
