“Drue was terrific! She arrived when scheduled, spoiled our boys with treats and outside time, and sent pictures with her report card for the boys. We will surely be using her services again in the future!”

About: I used to work in dog grooming and doggy daycare/pet boarding. I love working with dogs and cats. I have two miniature poodles of my own. I am used to working with all breeds, ages and temperaments of dogs. I am loving and have a calm presence. I have been trained on dog behavior and how to handle many different scenarios that might come into play. I am also able to do dog first aide if needed. After years of working for other people taking care of dogs, I have decided to work for myself. I have four children and so being able to have a more flexible schedule, really works well for me. I am available 7 days a week! I would love to be your go-to pet sitter :) I do not care for pets in my home, but I am happy to come to your home on your schedule and care for your pets, with your indidual needs and preferences being met. I am able to care for any pet you may have, whether it be a bird, hamster etc. I love all animals.
“She truly puts so much effort into making sure your dog is happy, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. I will definitely be using her services going forward and highly recommend her!”

About: I've taken care of cats, dogs, and exotics for many years. Well versed in pet care for any breed and kind of animal. Big fan and friend of all pets alike. I am a part time cosmetologist! I spend 6 hours of my day at the salon and come home to spend the rest of my time with your pets. I have a very friendly but shy chihuahua who would be separated from your furry friend in my home. I can uphold any rules you may follow in your own home for your pets as need be.
About: Hi, I’m Nalisha! I’ve been taking care of dogs for as long as I can remember, and I treat every pet with the same love and respect I would my own. I’m a responsible and experienced caregiver, and I’ve even cared for a pregnant dog, so I understand the importance of patience, attention, and gentle care. As a full-time college student, I’m available most days except Sundays. My availability is always updated on my calendar, and if anything changes, I will communicate in advance so you have time to find a replacement. If a booking is made on an unavailable day but a spot opens up, I’ll be happy to take it. When caring for your pet in your home, I’ll ensure they’ve gone to the bathroom, received plenty of attention, and are in a good mood. If any accidents occur, I will notify you and clean them up to prevent further issues that could be unsafe for your pet or household.
“Lorianne did a wonderful job housesitting and caring for our two labradors. She was punctual and sent us photo updates the whole time. We highly recommend her as we will want her to care for our dogs in the future!”

“McKayla was absolutely amazing while house-sitting and caring for my dog, Mable, and my cat, Kaiah. Mable is still a puppy with a ton of energy, so she can definitely be a handful, but McKayla was incredibly patient, attentive, and wonderful with her. She also took great care of Kaiah and made sure both pets were happy, comfortable, and well cared for while I was away. What really stood out was her communication. She sent so many photos and updates throughout my trip, which gave me complete peace of mind knowing my pets were in great hands. She was always easy to reach, quick to respond, and kept me informed the entire time. Since she stayed in my home, I also appreciated how respectful and responsible she was. Everything was clean, tidy, and exactly as I left it when I returned. Coming home to happy pets and a well-cared-for house made all the difference. I would absolutely book McKayla again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, communicative, and caring pet sitter. She went above and beyond, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.”

“I can't say enough good things about Ethan! He took care of my 3 pups and cat, like they were his own. He communicated daily with updates and pictures of everyone playing in the backyard having a good time. Additionally he kept the pups happy and exercised with walks. I highly recommend Ethan for anyone looking for a caring and responsible pet sitter!”

“Rebecca was wonderful with our anxious old pup and took the time to come meet him beforehand and learn about him. Hoping she’s available to book for our other upcoming travel dates!”

“Cira is so kind and caring with our 17 year old dog. She is a great communicator and very understanding when plans may change. 10/10 would recommend (unless we need her at the same time!)”

About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life which has allowed me to care for puppies to senior dogs on a daily basis with ease. I’m currently a full-time student in mostly online courses, which leaves plenty of time to play, walk, watch, and snuggle all of your pets with enthusiasm. I will treat your pets as if they were my own and provide plenty of love and care with lots of play time and potty breaks whether that be in a fenced yard or out on a walk.
“Lindsay is a great communicator. And really what more do you want when you are away from loved ones but updates and belief that they are being spoiled while you are away. She sends pictures and updates gives you a feeling that everything is fine at home so you can have fun away. She will always be my first pick if she is available. Great job to both Lindsay and Rover for having such skilled and pleasant people”

About: I’ve had a dog since I was 15. She’s now 11 years old and a healthy pup. I was a certified vet assistant a few years back but could not handle the emotional pain of watching dogs pass in the medical field. I still love dogs and cats and enjoy caring for them. I work full time overnight so I am able to spend daytime with your pet! Tuesday and Wednesday are my usual days off. I can typically spend 6-8 hours with your pet before I leave for work at 9:30pm. My pets are kept indoors and on our screened patio. They keep a strict routine and enjoy sunbathing on the patio. It’s a relatively new home so the screening is strong and has never been broken. We have two litter robots and my home is always in clean condition.
“Beatriz was amazing! Both my pets were taken well care of and were well loved. She sent pics a couple times each day which really was so sweet. She stayed the night and came over multiple times each day we were gone. I felt very comfortable with her and she is willing, I would happily book her again”
About: Dogs are the best! I’ve raised a lab, a pit bull and even a mix from puppies. My childhood dogs were a lab and cockapoo so I’m used to large and medium dogs. It’s a joy to have my home open where dogs feel right at home … on the furniture, running through the patio and back yard. Funny fact … I’ve been peed on twice at a dog park, once by a Great Dane! 🤣 My teenage son (who wants a dog of every breed!) would help give cuddles and playtime on the weekends. I used gentle training methods (and lots of cheerios) with my puppies. With our previous dog, we took the PetSmart training course with our lab mix and that was really helpful. Our home and lifestyle are best suited for larger dogs. I work from home. Dogs need play time and connection as well as their own little space. Whatever they’re feeding schedule is, I would stick to that so it feels as close to their home life as it can. We never feed human food (unless directed by you) and discourage begging from the table by keeping their food near the kitchen. Our neighborhood is safe to walk if longer jaunts are called for. The door to the back porch and to the fenced yard are open when we are home. Some dogs enjoy digging holes and chasing squirrels on the fence line! The perimeter of the fence is secure and all dogs come inside when we leave the house. They just have free reign to choose when they go out and come in if we’re here with them. We have tennis balls, a frisbee to play fetch and ropes for tug of war. Occasionally, a sock is sacrificed to the game. Whatever your dog’s schedule is, we can accommodate it and they’ll be in the cuddle pile with us anytime they want. My dogs were always crate trained so I’m confident in helping a dog have their safe space and have plenty of room to set them up. I don’t currently have extra crates, so please bring yours if your dog is comfortable with that. Dog feeding time and space will be private so there’s no sneaking food or territory issues. Basically, think of this as granny’s house. I might spoil them. I won’t send them back sugared up though! I’m home all the time as I work remote. If I’m out of the house, I’ll mark the days unavailable. I have three bedrooms so dogs can have quiet space of their own or come chill with me while I work. My fence was replaced in 2024 so it’s secured and sturdy. I keep the yard mowed so it’s perfect for the dogs. With the screen porch and couches, dogs can enjoy indoors or outdoors anytime.
“Great pet sitter, my dog has severe separation anxiety and I can never be away from my dog too long, with Jailene, I never have to worry and I was even able to book her last second and she still came through.”

About: I’ve had a dog(s) since the day I was born. I am super comfortable with taking care of any size or breed of dog as they are a man’s best friend and I will try to make them feel like they are my own! I work from home full time during the week. So I’m able to take care of your pets needs throughout the day if needed My pup is a free roamer in the house and is allowed on the couches and beds, your pet(s) would be able to do the same as they are in paradise over here!

Five stars! I had such a great experience. Nahiara took amazing care of my dog and home while I was away. Communication was great. She kept me updated. She sent pictures, and everything was clean and well cared for when I returned. Highly recommend Nahiara and would absolutely use her again!”

Celeste was amazing! She sent pictures of all the pets getting loved and the dogs being walked. The house was in perfect order when I returned. She was very careful to let me know if I was running low on any pet supplies. She is very responsive to my communications.
Amanda was great! She took care of our two senior dogs like they were her own! She stayed at our house for 2 nights/3 days. She sent pictures several times a day and both Ripley and Oliver loved her. Our house was exactly as we left it and we would definitely use her again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Gulf City on Rover is $32.19 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gulf City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gulf City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gulf City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
