“Our big baby hasn't been separated from us since we got him & we were worried about leaving him. Kelly came over to meet him beforehand and the got to know each other which put our minds at ease. From the pictures & videos she sent us, they looked like they had a great time together. She walked him & even took him to the dog park!! She took such great care of him, bought his spoiled butt a new toy & some new treats. She really treated Toro like he was her baby. I'm definitely using Kelly again!!”

About: I have had dogs, cared for them and adored them for most of my life. I do not have any now. I was service dog handler at the school I used work at with a student on the autism spectrum. I frequently watch friend’s dogs (even one cat) in my home or theirs and find myself looking for them when they are gone. I live in a condo (choices were only apartment or house) in a very dog friendly area. In the winter my prices are higher because I don’t have a backyard and I have to walk the dogs for all the potty breaks. The last dog I had was definitely a character but I loved him anyway. I hope you like photos because I am also a portrait photographer and although we won’t be doing any photo shoots, I love taking pictures to show owners what they are up to during the day. I work at a middle school nearby and so am only gone until about 2:45 every day. In the summer I am usually only gone a few hours a day. I live alone and have most weekends completely free. During school days I am gone about 7 1/2 hours but on weekends and school breaks I am home most of the time. I live in a condo with a great neighborhood for long or short walks. I have a furbo pet camera to check on them when I am at work. I am comfortable with crate trained or non-crated dogs. If they like car rides, I have fun talking them on little outings. I like to know what commands and “words” you use to stay consistent and make sure we communicate well. I am also not a fan of feeding from the table so unless you approve that - I wouldn’t allow it. I am also very cautious about keeping dogs leashed.
“Christine house sat for our 2 dachshunds and was wonderful! She kept us updated with photos and messages, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. We really appreciated how clean and well cared for our home was when we returned. She even cleaned the linens, which was very thoughtful and one less thing we had to worry about when we returned. It was also so sweet to hear how much she enjoyed spending time with our pups. We would definitely recommend her and would choose her to dog sit for us again in the future!”

“Lorianne did a wonderful job housesitting and caring for our two labradors. She was punctual and sent us photo updates the whole time. We highly recommend her as we will want her to care for our dogs in the future!”

About: I've taken care of cats, dogs, and exotics for many years. Well versed in pet care for any breed and kind of animal. Big fan and friend of all pets alike. I am currently an online college student, so I have plenty of time to play and care for your furry family members, with extra love! I have a very friendly but shy chihuahua who would be separated from your furry friend in my home. I can uphold any rules you may follow in your own home for your pets as need be.

About: Experienced 3-dog owner Scott Shanfeld provides reliable, loving pet care. Skilled in handling all personalities and safety-focused, I’ll treat your pup like family! Pet care fits seamlessly by structuring your mornings and evenings around routine walks and feedings, while midday check-ins or longer weekend blocks handle extended service bookings and administrative tasks. Providing in-home pet care—whether it's overnight house sitting or dropping in for visits—is all about maintaining the pet's regular routine to keep them stress-free while their owner is away. Because pets are usually most comfortable in their own environment, keeping things consistent is key. Here is exactly how a professional in-home pet care setup typically works: 1. The Pre-Service Meet and Greet Before any care begins, a crucial first step is meeting the client and their pets at their home. This serves a few vital purposes: Introductions: Letting the pets get used to a new face while their owner is there to reassure them. Routine Walkthrough: Learning exactly where food, bowls, leashes, toys, and cleaning supplies are kept. Logistics: Securing home access (keys, lockbox codes, or alarm instructions) and collecting emergency contact info for the vet. 2. Maintaining the Routine The goal is to replicate the owner's exact schedule as closely as possible. Feeding & Medication: Serving precise portions at the exact times the pet expects them. If a pet requires medication (pills, ointments, or injections), getting clear instructions and tracking doses is a top priority. Exercise & Play: Going for walks, playing fetch, or engaging in interactive play to burn off energy and keep anxiety at bay. Bathroom Breaks: Ensuring dogs get out at regular intervals or keeping the litter box meticulously clean for cats. 3. House Manners & Security Caring for a pet in a client's home means treating the space with total respect. Home Care Basics: Bringing in the mail, watering plants, taking out the trash on pickup days, and alternating lights so the house looks occupied. Cleanliness: Promptly cleaning up any pet messes, wiping muddy paws at the door, and leaving the home exactly as it was found. 4. Communication & Updates Sending regular updates to the owner is one of the most important parts of the job. A quick text with a photo or two during a visit or at the end of the day goes a long way in giving them peace of mind while they are away.

About: Hello! My name is Shay and i’m a 20 year old dog sitter with many years of experience! I’m a third year college student at UCF and trying to make some money while also gaining experience and connections. I’m a reliable and caring animal lover with a lifetime of experience around pets. I’ve been taking care of animals since I got my dog in middle school and have been taking care of other people’s dogs ever since I could start driving! Also, for the past year I’ve regularly dog sat for a police officer and her retired senior K-9, building trust and consistency with both owner and pup. I understand how important it is to keep pets safe, happy, and comfortable, whether it’s during a walk or while you’re away. I treat every dog like my own and always make sure they get the attention, exercise, and care they deserve. I structure my days around pet care, so I have plenty of availability for visits and check-ins. Along with my experience as a full-time caregiver, I bring patience, reliability, and a strong focus on each pet’s needs. Safety and trust are my top priorities. For drop-ins, I carefully follow your pet’s routine, including feeding, fresh water, litter box cleaning, and playtime, while making sure your home is secure. For house sitting, I maintain your pet’s normal schedule to keep them comfortable and stress-free, and I treat your home with the same respect and care as my own.

“McKayla was absolutely amazing while house-sitting and caring for my dog, Mable, and my cat, Kaiah. Mable is still a puppy with a ton of energy, so she can definitely be a handful, but McKayla was incredibly patient, attentive, and wonderful with her. She also took great care of Kaiah and made sure both pets were happy, comfortable, and well cared for while I was away. What really stood out was her communication. She sent so many photos and updates throughout my trip, which gave me complete peace of mind knowing my pets were in great hands. She was always easy to reach, quick to respond, and kept me informed the entire time. Since she stayed in my home, I also appreciated how respectful and responsible she was. Everything was clean, tidy, and exactly as I left it when I returned. Coming home to happy pets and a well-cared-for house made all the difference. I would absolutely book McKayla again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, communicative, and caring pet sitter. She went above and beyond, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.”

About: Experienced in formal dog care since I was 15, including rescue, training and boarding. I am comfortable with all types of dogs and working from home allows me to care for your pet as if they were part of my own pack. I work from home Monday - Friday with a flexible schedule and availability to provide a wide variety of services to give your pet the premium care they deserve. I care for pets as if they’re my very own. All incoming animals have free range of furniture, toys, and sleeping in which ever bed they choose.
About: I’ve had a dog since I was 15. She’s now 11 years old and a healthy pup. I was a certified vet assistant a few years back but could not handle the emotional pain of watching dogs pass in the medical field. I still love dogs and cats and enjoy caring for them. I work full time overnight so I am able to spend daytime with your pet! Tuesday and Wednesday are my usual days off. I can typically spend 6-8 hours with your pet before I leave for work at 9:30pm. My pets are kept indoors and on our screened patio. They keep a strict routine and enjoy sunbathing on the patio. It’s a relatively new home so the screening is strong and has never been broken. We have two litter robots and my home is always in clean condition.

About: I have walked, and had dogs my entire life. I have dog sat over 10 times for multiple family friends and clients. I’m great with hanging out with dogs, I find it fun. I can walk them, feed them, and watch over them if needed. I have plenty of time to spend with the dogs. I’m home all of the summer. This is the main job for me this summer. I have a nice neighborhood for walking, area for dogs, friendly family to make your dog feel at home. We have a crate if needed, and 2 dogs to keep your dog company.

About: I’ve taken care of my dog of 6 years since we got him as a puppy. I trained him to potty, do tricks, and play. I walk him 2-3 times a day and take him to the dog park, dog beach, and other dog social settings. I’ve also taken care of other dogs for multiple days. I work part-time during the weekends so my availability is during the weekdays! I am also a full time college student studying Biomedical Sciences but I’m fully online during the summer. I’m very playful with pets but I always make sure to put their safety first. I also always follow special instructions for each unique pet!
“Irene got along great iwht my dog Luna and attended to every need. She did a good job keeping me informed while I was gone. I would definitely recommend her for anyone looking for a great person to take care of their dog.”

About: I have been a pet owner for about 15 years. I love walking dogs and caring for cats and fish. I am passionate about ensuring that pets are well cared for and just as happy when their owners return home as when they left. I am a second year dental student and have a fairly open schedule. I only have class for a few hours in the morning and some afternoons during the week days. I am available for dog walking and for general pet sitting responsibilities If I am caring for a dog then I make sure that they get plenty of exercise with a walk and being let outside. I also follow the directions of the client if they need to be crated or if a portion of the house is off limits to the pet. For cats I will make sure that they are fed and that the litter box is clean and anything additional the client is looking for.

Kelly, it was fabulous with my dogs. She sent me photos and messages all day long on each of the seven days I was gone. She left the house clean. She went above and beyond, and my dogs loved her and seemed to be quite content with her. Thank you, Kelly you gave me peace of mind.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Parrish walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Parrish maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Parrish choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Parrish. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
