“Dylan was amazing handling my three (2 dogs and a cat) for six days. Great communication, courteous of my home, fully capable with meds, followed instructions, couldn’t be happier with his service, I trust him fully and will be utilizing him in the future. It was so relieving to see my babies super excited and happy when I came home.”

About: I've taken care of cats, dogs, and exotics for many years. Well versed in pet care for any breed and kind of animal. Big fan and friend of all pets alike. I am a part time cosmetologist! I spend 6 hours of my day at the salon and come home to spend the rest of my time with your pets. I have a very friendly but shy chihuahua who would be separated from your furry friend in my home. I can uphold any rules you may follow in your own home for your pets as need be.
“Christine was just wonderful with my Yorkie. Even though he’s stubborn and old, she gave him love and took such good care of him. She’s a wonderful woman I would recommend her to anyone.”

“Emily is the best. From the meet & greet prior to booking she seemed trustworthy to care for our Lana girl in our home. She was kind and personable. She was communicative and provided appropriate and meaningful updates on our girl while we were away. I would absolutely request her again to pet sit. I’m so grateful for animal loving people like her.”

“Kelly has a very thorough meet and greet before the visit. She shares lots of pics with your pet and even brought in packages off the porch to keep them safe. I'd highly recommend her as a pet sitter.”

“Caden did an excellent job with dog and house sitting from 05/22/2026 - 05/25/2026. He was reliable, responsible, and took great care of both our dog and home while we were away. Everything was well looked after, and it gave us real peace of mind knowing things were in good hands. We came back to a happy dog and a house that was just as we left it. I would gladly recommend Caden and would be happy to work with him again.”

“McKenna and Kelly took such good care of my babies and gave them so much attention. They sent lots of pictures and updates. I was able to have piece of mind on my trip knowing they were so well cared for. I can’t thank them enough and will definitely keep them in mind for the future!”

“Pris stayed in constant contact through caring for our three senior dogs. She was great with them and truly cared for them like they were her own. We'll hire Pris again in a minute when needed. Very easy to work with and nearby so it was easy for all of us.”

“Jeremy stayed at our home for a week with our fur babies. He took great care of them, sent pics and videos, and kept us updated all week. We were lucky to have him! He not only watched our babies, but grabbed the mail, watered the plants, and even washed the sheets after staying at our home. Above and beyond and greatly appreciated! Hire them if you need a great sitter for your fur babies”

“Could not recommend María enough. She will go above and beyond for you and your pets and treat them like her own. I left my puppy for the first time and María took such good care of him. When I got home he was clean (she had bathed him!), happy, healthy, and had a fat little stomach which means he was eating good while I was gone, which was a huge worry of mine given how small he is. She hand fed him to make sure he ate and was getting enough food in. I am so grateful for her and her kindness towards animals. María is extremely trustworthy, kind, and caring. Please give her the opportunity to care for your furry friends, you will not regret it!!! Thank you so much María for taking care of my baby. If needed, I will absolutely be using her services again.”

“Seth spent a long weekend with our pups and cat and took great care of the animals and our home. His knowledge and empathy with animals is evident in his updates and communication.”

“Stefania, was great. She provided us with many pictures and daily communications. Our furbabies were well cared for, she took the dogs outside several times a day, which is something they definitely love. Our house was well cared for.”

“Lorianne did a wonderful job housesitting and caring for our two labradors. She was punctual and sent us photo updates the whole time. We highly recommend her as we will want her to care for our dogs in the future!”

About: Hi! I’m Tyler! I’m a calm, detail oriented, and animal loving person who finds joy in caring for both cats and dogs. As a proud pet parent to two cats, I understand just how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family. I’m the kind of sitter who notices the little things; like when a pup seems a little more tired than usual or when your cat’s whiskers twitch just before they pounce. Whether your pet is shy and needs a gentle presence or full of energy and ready to play, I adjust my care to meet their needs and personality. With years of hands on experience and a true love for animals, I make sure every visit or walk is safe, engaging, and stress free for your pet (and for you!). From belly rubs and fetch to quiet cuddle time and careful medication routines, I’ve got it covered. Let’s set up a meet & greet, I’d love to learn more about your pets and how I can help! I make sure to feed, play with, and care for pets every day, paying close attention to their needs while giving them plenty of love and calm time. When caring for pets, whether in my home or yours, I focus on creating a safe, comfortable environment tailored to each pet’s needs. At your home, I follow your routine closely, including feeding, exercise, playtime, and any special care like medication or grooming. In my home, I provide a calm, loving space where pets feel relaxed and engaged with plenty of attention and affection. My goal is always to keep pets happy, healthy, and stress free while you’re away.

“Lily watched our pets while we went out of town for our wedding! She sent many photos and videos of our babies which made me feel happy to know they were okay and in good hands. She left the house very clean and even left a small wedding present for us which was very sweet and thoughtful of her! Lily is easy to get in touch with and very flexible. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Fort Hamer
Jeremy & Kathy provided outstanding care for our two dogs; a cocker spaniel & chocolate lab (age 7 & 13). The process was so easy & they were very accommodating. We had a meet & greet and it was obvious they were lovers of pets. Our dogs loved them immediately. They provided overnight stay for 14 nights while we were out of the country. We received pictures and updates of the dogs each day. I thought it was nice that they said “you don’t have to respond to each one, we just want you to know the pups are doing great”. Upon return our home was spotless and the dogs were happy. Our dogs need medication and a little extra care and they did it all beautifully!! I highly recommend them to care for your special pets. Thank you Jeremy & Kathy!! The boys look forward to seeing you again.

Angelica provided incredible care for my puppy Beanz. She was attentive, dependable, and kept me informed with regular updates. Beanz was happy and comfortable, and I could tell she genuinely loves animals. I highly recommend her for anyone who wants trustworthy and loving pet care

FAQs for House Sitting - Fort Hamer
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Fort Hamer on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 3,363 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Fort Hamer. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fort Hamer walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fort Hamer maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fort Hamer choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fort Hamer. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
