“Veronica was a great dog/house sitter. She took care of our elderly dog who needed daily medicines and multiple walks during the day as well as cooking him special meals and bathing him. She texted and sent photos daily. We returned home to a very happy dog. He actually is still looking for her, which is unusual for him. We highly recommend her.”
“Kaity & Sebastian are wonderful people. I always knew what was going on & they never left me wondering. Such peace of mind knowing our fur baby is being loved 🥰 & cared for like we do. I highly recommend them. The house was also left neat & clean, like I left it. I’m grateful 🙏🏻”

About: Hi, I’m Nalisha! I’ve been taking care of dogs for as long as I can remember, and I treat every pet with the same love and respect I would my own. I’m a responsible and experienced caregiver, and I’ve even cared for a pregnant dog, so I understand the importance of patience, attention, and gentle care. As a full-time college student, I’m available most days except Sundays. My availability is always updated on my calendar, and if anything changes, I will communicate in advance so you have time to find a replacement. If a booking is made on an unavailable day but a spot opens up, I’ll be happy to take it. When caring for your pet in your home, I’ll ensure they’ve gone to the bathroom, received plenty of attention, and are in a good mood. If any accidents occur, I will notify you and clean them up to prevent further issues that could be unsafe for your pet or household.
“Victoria was fantastic to work with. We had a last minute sitter cancel and she accepted our last minute request. Then we had a delayed flight and she stayed an extra night. We received daily updates on our pooch and had no worries about him while we were gone. Highly recommend!”

“Shayla was absolutely fantastic! She was very open and friendly during our meet and greet; was able to tell my dog loved her immediately! I felt comfortable and informed the whole time I was away. “Lindsay was delightful. My dogs are not well trained. I admit it. Not proud but love them. She gave me updates daily with pictures. She left the house untouched as if she didn't stay, except for a load of sheets in the wash. The dogs were happy I was happy and anxiety free. Thanks Lindsay!!!!!!”

About: With a profound passion for animals, I embrace the uniqueness of each furry companion, understanding their individuality and advocating for their well-being with genuine love and dedication. Having shared my life with pets, I've experienced the joy of raising and loving each one. My pet-sitting journey extends to caring for dogs, cats, fish, and frogs for family and friends numerous times. Beyond my home, I've fostered cats, ensuring their well-being until adoption, and compassionately fed stray cats across the community. Active in the welfare of strays, I've contributed to spaying/neutering initiatives, rescuing both dogs and cats, further solidifying my commitment to the happiness and health of all animals As a medical school student, my schedule can be demanding, but rest assured, I'll only commit to pet care assignments when I can dedicate ample time to walking, feeding, and showering your pet with love. With that, it will be less likely for me to have long-term commitments and schedules due to my constantly changing schedule and availability. Despite my busy schedule, pet care seamlessly integrates into my daily routine, becoming a cherished part of my day in my own home. Your furry friend will receive the attention and care they deserve, ensuring their well-being is prioritized. In my apartment, I share my space with two beloved cats. At my parent's house, where we currently have three cats and our 12 year old dog that recently passed away, my commitment to pet care remains unwavering. Whether in my home or my clients', cleanliness is a top priority – bowls, litter, water, beds, and more are meticulously maintained. Timely and nourishing meals are a staple, ensuring that each pet's dietary needs are met. Previously, my dog enjoyed a minimum of two daily walks, taking advantage of our fenced backyard for additional outdoor freedom. Affection is a crucial aspect of my care routine, guaranteeing that each pet receives the love and attention they deserve, meeting their individual needs throughout the day.

“Lily watched our pets while we went out of town for our wedding! She sent many photos and videos of our babies which made me feel happy to know they were okay and in good hands. She left the house very clean and even left a small wedding present for us which was very sweet and thoughtful of her! Lily is easy to get in touch with and very flexible. Lindsay was awesome. I was stressed because my dog suffers from separation anxiety & this was the first time I was leaving him in a year. Lindsay sent me photos & texts which made me feel 1000% better. I highly recommend Lindsay for your pet sitting needs. Thank you Lindsay for your professionalism & taking great care of my Tillman & your communications with me while I was out of state visiting family. It made a world of difference. Thank you.

Sydney was absolutely wonderful with Rocco. I can not thank her enough for her flexibility and come to our house for an overnight sit so last minute. This was my first time leaving our dog in someone else’s care and she made me feel a sigh of relief. Sydney followed instructions, updated me with pictures, and had amazing communication. I will 100% be using her again and would recommend her to anyone.

She has come to my home on two different occasions now to watch my dog. Mine were house sitting visits so she stayed here at my home with the dog, she walked him, played with him, she kept up on everything, she even brought my packages in along with updating me on when I maintenance crews here. I always text asking how he’s doing she sends me photos and lets me know his behavior. She was good to my baby and took care of my home. Trustworthy!

Five stars isn’t enough! Leaving my dog can make me anxious, but Isaiah made the entire experience so easy and reassuring. I felt completely comfortable from start to finish, and it was obvious that my dog was treated like family while I was away. Isaiah was reliable, communicative, and genuinely cared about my dog’s well being. Coming home to a happy, well cared for pup was the best feeling. I would not hesitate to use him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with their pet.

Claudia was amazing with our nearly 16 year old border collie. She stayed in our home for 4.5 days and everything was left clean and orderly. She gave very frequent updates on Riley as well as happenings around the house and yard. I can’t recommend her highly enough! Thank you, Claudia, for making our dog happy and us feel comfortable knowing you were giving her very competent care.

Tatiana was an excellent house and pet sitter while I was away in Medellín. She took great care of Beanz!) and followed all instructions exactly. Communication was smooth the entire time, with regular updates that made it easy to relax and enjoy my trip. I came home to a clean, tidy house and happy animals, and I would absolutely book Tatiana again and highly recommend her to anyone needing a reliable sitter.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Sun City Center on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 4,019 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sun City Center. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sun City Center walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sun City Center maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sun City Center choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
