“Lindsay is a great communicator. And really what more do you want when you are away from loved ones but updates and belief that they are being spoiled while you are away. She sends pictures and updates gives you a feeling that everything is fine at home so you can have fun away. She will always be my first pick if she is available. Great job to both Lindsay and Rover for having such skilled and pleasant people”

About: Pets have always been an important part of my life. It’s easier for me to enjoy vacations knowing my furry friends are cared for by a sitter in their own home & I’m excited to offer you the same peace of mind. I have experience with cats, dogs, reptiles, & aquariums (additional fees apply—message me for rates if you have aquariums/reptiles you’d like me to check on while you are away. Also willing to water plants! I am available for in-house sitting or drop by. I do have appointments, volunteering, and occasional work on some days of the week, so let me know if you need a sitter in house at all times or if your pet is able to spend a few hours solo. For each client, I'll take into account your needs and my schedule to determine if it is a good fit for both of us and, of course, your furry friend! I am able to accommodate medication administration/particular needs if you show me what is needed. I can also keep up any training you are working on with your pet while you are away. Care can be customized to your pet’s needs during an initial visit. I am available to stay in-home for overnight stays. Please let me know if your pet needs someone on-site at all times or if they are able to be left alone at times and for how long.
“Kristin took great care of my pup. He had some tummy issues and she was so patient with him and his late night/early morning needs. Jaxie enjoyed the array of chew toys and all the cuddle time. I will be sure to call on Kristin again.”

About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life which has allowed me to care for puppies to senior dogs on a daily basis with ease. I’m currently a full-time student in mostly online courses, which leaves plenty of time to play, walk, watch, and snuggle all of your pets with enthusiasm. I will treat your pets as if they were my own and provide plenty of love and care with lots of play time and potty breaks whether that be in a fenced yard or out on a walk.
“She truly puts so much effort into making sure your dog is happy, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. I will definitely be using her services going forward and highly recommend her!”

“Great pet sitter, my dog has severe separation anxiety and I can never be away from my dog too long, with Jailene, I never have to worry and I was even able to book her last second and she still came through.”

“I can't say enough good things about Ethan! He took care of my 3 pups and cat, like they were his own. He communicated daily with updates and pictures of everyone playing in the backyard having a good time. Additionally he kept the pups happy and exercised with walks. I highly recommend Ethan for anyone looking for a caring and responsible pet sitter!”

“Tamara house sat my cat Pip. Tamara and Pip clearly bonded during the five days I was away. My home was left spotless, I received many photos, videos and notes about Pip from Tamara. I highly recommend her and will definitely use her again.”

About: Dogs are the best! I’ve raised a lab, a pit bull and even a mix from puppies. My childhood dogs were a lab and cockapoo so I’m used to large and medium dogs. It’s a joy to have my home open where dogs feel right at home … on the furniture, running through the patio and back yard. Funny fact … I’ve been peed on twice at a dog park, once by a Great Dane! 🤣 My teenage son (who wants a dog of every breed!) would help give cuddles and playtime on the weekends. I used gentle training methods (and lots of cheerios) with my puppies. With our previous dog, we took the PetSmart training course with our lab mix and that was really helpful. Our home and lifestyle are best suited for larger dogs. I work from home. Dogs need play time and connection as well as their own little space. Whatever they’re feeding schedule is, I would stick to that so it feels as close to their home life as it can. We never feed human food (unless directed by you) and discourage begging from the table by keeping their food near the kitchen. Our neighborhood is safe to walk if longer jaunts are called for. The door to the back porch and to the fenced yard are open when we are home. Some dogs enjoy digging holes and chasing squirrels on the fence line! The perimeter of the fence is secure and all dogs come inside when we leave the house. They just have free reign to choose when they go out and come in if we’re here with them. We have tennis balls, a frisbee to play fetch and ropes for tug of war. Occasionally, a sock is sacrificed to the game. Whatever your dog’s schedule is, we can accommodate it and they’ll be in the cuddle pile with us anytime they want. My dogs were always crate trained so I’m confident in helping a dog have their safe space and have plenty of room to set them up. I don’t currently have extra crates, so please bring yours if your dog is comfortable with that. Dog feeding time and space will be private so there’s no sneaking food or territory issues. Basically, think of this as granny’s house. I might spoil them. I won’t send them back sugared up though! I’m home all the time as I work remote. If I’m out of the house, I’ll mark the days unavailable. I have three bedrooms so dogs can have quiet space of their own or come chill with me while I work. My fence was replaced in 2024 so it’s secured and sturdy. I keep the yard mowed so it’s perfect for the dogs. With the screen porch and couches, dogs can enjoy indoors or outdoors anytime.
“We had Veronica stay with our pups once again and she did a fabulous job. Our pups were well taken care of and our house was just the same as we left it. She also brought in our trash cans and checked our mail. We’ll definitely have her stay with our pups again! Thank you, Veronica, for your care and patience with our pups!”

“Rebecca was wonderful with our anxious old pup and took the time to come meet him beforehand and learn about him. Hoping she’s available to book for our other upcoming travel dates!”

“Mary is an awesome dog walker and pet sitter. I always have complete confidence and faith that my dog and cats will be taken care of when I am not around. She is just awesome and I would highly recommend her.”
About: I have been blessed to own my own animals for 9 years. Love and compassion for your pet is my goal! Animals are just souls embodied and I would love to take part in their care. Trust me when I say, any animal I see, I am drawn to it. And if I see you out there in Sun City Center, better believe I'll ask for a pet! (With permission, ALWAYS!) Looking forward to working with you to make sure your baby is safe, pottied, fed and happy! ☺️ I am currently available all days of the week besides Sunday morning for church. Feel free to message if you have questions! Thank you so much. In your home, I will be trustworthy and genuine. I believe that animals can connect any person to another just due to the love of our pets.
“Zaina has truly been amazing with our babies!! She was available for us last minute when our dog sitter canceled on us and truly helped us out in such a big way. The dogs loved her, and she was very kind and loving with them as well. Thank you so much again!”

About: Hi, I’m Nalisha! I’ve been taking care of dogs for as long as I can remember, and I treat every pet with the same love and respect I would my own. I’m a responsible and experienced caregiver, and I’ve even cared for a pregnant dog, so I understand the importance of patience, attention, and gentle care. As a full-time college student, I’m available most days except Sundays. My availability is always updated on my calendar, and if anything changes, I will communicate in advance so you have time to find a replacement. If a booking is made on an unavailable day but a spot opens up, I’ll be happy to take it. When caring for your pet in your home, I’ll ensure they’ve gone to the bathroom, received plenty of attention, and are in a good mood. If any accidents occur, I will notify you and clean them up to prevent further issues that could be unsafe for your pet or household.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sun City Center
She has come to my home on two different occasions now to watch my dog. Mine were house sitting visits so she stayed here at my home with the dog, she walked him, played with him, she kept up on everything, she even brought my packages in along with updating me on when I maintenance crews here. I always text asking how he’s doing she sends me photos and lets me know his behavior. She was good to my baby and took care of my home. Trustworthy!

Five stars isn’t enough! Leaving my dog can make me anxious, but Isaiah made the entire experience so easy and reassuring. I felt completely comfortable from start to finish, and it was obvious that my dog was treated like family while I was away. Isaiah was reliable, communicative, and genuinely cared about my dog’s well being. Coming home to a happy, well cared for pup was the best feeling. I would not hesitate to use him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with their pet.

Claudia was amazing with our nearly 16 year old border collie. She stayed in our home for 4.5 days and everything was left clean and orderly. She gave very frequent updates on Riley as well as happenings around the house and yard. I can’t recommend her highly enough! Thank you, Claudia, for making our dog happy and us feel comfortable knowing you were giving her very competent care.

Tatiana was an excellent house and pet sitter while I was away in Medellín. She took great care of Beanz!) and followed all instructions exactly. Communication was smooth the entire time, with regular updates that made it easy to relax and enjoy my trip. I came home to a clean, tidy house and happy animals, and I would absolutely book Tatiana again and highly recommend her to anyone needing a reliable sitter.

Kristin told great care of our Gus. She was willing to come meet us a couple times ahead of leaving to meet him (bc he does have some quirks and wanted to make sure they were setup for success). She sent periodic updates and took great care of our boy. Would definitely boon with her again.

Emily was amazing. She has a wonderful energy and attitude, and my dog loved her. She gave constant updates and pictures making me feel like my dog was really well taken care of. She also left the house clean when she left- and even tried to fix my garbage disposal when it stopped working (Sorry!) Would highly recommend her as a sitter.

FAQs for House Sitting - Sun City Center
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Sun City Center on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 4,106 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sun City Center. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sun City Center walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sun City Center maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sun City Center choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
