“Catherine is FANTASTIC! Levi fell in love immediately! She stayed and played with him. Fed him and loved on him. He was so relaxed when we got home. Priceless. Thank you Catherine!!”

“We had just moved to Parrish after living internationally and were happy to find April while we took a European vacation for 2 weeks. She had daily visits to feed and care for our two cats. April sent photos and stories every day. She is professional, competent, and reliable. Will use her again and again!”

About: Experienced 3-dog owner Scott Shanfeld provides reliable, loving pet care. Skilled in handling all personalities and safety-focused, I’ll treat your pup like family! Pet care fits seamlessly by structuring your mornings and evenings around routine walks and feedings, while midday check-ins or longer weekend blocks handle extended service bookings and administrative tasks. Providing in-home pet care—whether it's overnight house sitting or dropping in for visits—is all about maintaining the pet's regular routine to keep them stress-free while their owner is away. Because pets are usually most comfortable in their own environment, keeping things consistent is key. Here is exactly how a professional in-home pet care setup typically works: 1. The Pre-Service Meet and Greet Before any care begins, a crucial first step is meeting the client and their pets at their home. This serves a few vital purposes: Introductions: Letting the pets get used to a new face while their owner is there to reassure them. Routine Walkthrough: Learning exactly where food, bowls, leashes, toys, and cleaning supplies are kept. Logistics: Securing home access (keys, lockbox codes, or alarm instructions) and collecting emergency contact info for the vet. 2. Maintaining the Routine The goal is to replicate the owner's exact schedule as closely as possible. Feeding & Medication: Serving precise portions at the exact times the pet expects them. If a pet requires medication (pills, ointments, or injections), getting clear instructions and tracking doses is a top priority. Exercise & Play: Going for walks, playing fetch, or engaging in interactive play to burn off energy and keep anxiety at bay. Bathroom Breaks: Ensuring dogs get out at regular intervals or keeping the litter box meticulously clean for cats. 3. House Manners & Security Caring for a pet in a client's home means treating the space with total respect. Home Care Basics: Bringing in the mail, watering plants, taking out the trash on pickup days, and alternating lights so the house looks occupied. Cleanliness: Promptly cleaning up any pet messes, wiping muddy paws at the door, and leaving the home exactly as it was found. 4. Communication & Updates Sending regular updates to the owner is one of the most important parts of the job. A quick text with a photo or two during a visit or at the end of the day goes a long way in giving them peace of mind while they are away.
“I cannot thank Angelina enough for all her help this weekend. She was communicative, timely, and trustworthy. She followed all of my instructions and I felt confident that my cat was being cared for while I was away.”

“Kathy was great with our two big dogs, and was able to accommodate us on really short notice. Our German Shepard mix warmed up to her, and she’s usually a little weary around new people. She took both of them on walks, and gave us updates with photos and videos, which I really appreciated! She also gave them treats and refilled the water bowls, they were happy campers by the time I got home from my long day!”

“Rachael was great with my dog who isn’t nice to people she isn’t familiar with . but she found a way for my dog to be nice and was very good with dealing with my dog . Def recommend and will use in the future”

“Jill is an absolutely amazing person that took time to talk and play with our cats. That were excited to see here everyday, even running up and greeting her. Highly recommend!!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Parrish
Got in touch with Jamie a month ago because we needed a drop in on July 4th. She was very accommodating and stopped by a few days out to meet the pups and truly connected with both of them. Highly recommend especially for bigger dogs like my GSD which can be difficult to find. Will certainly be using her again in the future . Thank you

Bethany was fantastic with our pups! She was so helpful— recognizing that there was a gap in drop ins while we were away (totally MY error— I copied over the wrong day!) and reached out to ensure the pups were covered during that gap(they wouldn’t have been!)— and filled that gap when needed. When we returned — the pups were happy and healthy — and even our normally anxious pup was in good spirits! Highly highly recommend Bethany!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
