About: Pet lover with many years of experience in caring for dogs and cats. Since childhood, I have been surrounded by animals, and my love for them has only grown over the years. My life would be incomplete without these faithful and loving friends. I organize regular and varied walks, taking into account the needs of each dog. I know how to control the dog on a leash and ensure safety during walks. I like to see my dogs enjoy time outdoors and socialize with other animals. My goal is to provide my pets with the best care and quality of life. I strive to create a loving and supportive environment for them, where they can be happy, healthy and active. My love for animals inspires me every day, and I am ready to share my experience and knowledge with those who also care about their four-legged friends. I understand that each of us has moments when we need to go somewhere or just don't have enough time for a full walk with a pet. At such moments, I am always ready to help. My doors are open at any time, and I will be happy to walk your dog, providing it with the necessary physical activity and care. Pet lover with many years of experience in caring for dogs and cats. “Everything went smoothly from start to finish. Our dog was well cared for, and Logan was very understanding and accommodating when our travel plans changed and we needed to extend his stay. Highly recommend.”

“Kelcy was amazing. She stayed with our dog in our home and took such great care of her. She sent pictures and updates. I knew our dog was in amazing hands. Highly recommend!”

“Kaylan was an amazing sitter from start to finish! If my dogs could write this rating, I’m sure they’d give her 5 stars. She sent frequent updates, lots of pictures, and wasn’t afraid to ask questions whenever she needed clarification, which gave me peace of mind. She even took my pups on little adventures to explore new parks and treated them to pup cups, with permission of course! It’s obvious they were cared for, and got lots of love and attention while we were away at work. I came home to 2 happy pups and a cared for home. Would definitely recommend Kaylan for a reliable, caring sitter and happily booking her again!”

About: Howdy Rover! Growing up, my family always had cats, cats for days, mom did not have the bandwidth for dog shenanigans. But I have been passionate about canine's from my earliest memories. I have been dogsitting and walking my grandparents dog as well as neighborhood dogs since I was 12. MY first dog, raised from 3 months, is the big handsome purebred German Shepherd seen in my profile photo. Koda was adopted from a breeder in 2020. He's very friendly and well trained. My roommate has another Gshep adopted from a shelter, and an Aussie Shep, so I'm used to VERY high energy and demanding dogs. That said, our home can't accommodate anymore furry friends, so I'm only available for housesitting and visits. Looking forward to meeting your furbabies! At this time my availability is completely open. I happily make this my full-time job if possible. I've been out of formal work for a year due to a slump in the job market. I will do my utmost to ensure your pets are safe, happy, and healthy. I'll evaluate potential hazards in the home before you leave, ensure all special instructions are understood and followed, and give you and your pet the best experience possible. I'll give them the same care and attention I would give to my own.
“Crystal was amazing! She helped us last minute and worked with our changing schedule. She did a good job of accommodating all of Roxxys needs. I can tell that Roxxy made a new friend! I would definitely recommend her!”

“I can’t sing Michelle‘s praises enough. We were going abroad for about a week and had another sitter cancel at the last minute. Michelle followed up quickly, scheduled a meet and greet and agreed to sit our four pets while we were away. She is awesome. They warmed up to her so quickly, and she was communicative through both text and photos. We hope we can work again with you in the future, Michelle!”

“Very communicative. I received daily photos and videos. The pups seemed happy and our youngest found a lap to lay on. Bob played with both dogs and seemed to really start to learn their personalities”

“Nelsybeth is fantastic! Very communicative and amazing with our high energy puppy. She also won over our other dog with severe anxiety. Love her and will definitely be booking her in the future!”

“We recently booked Tuan Anh for an overnight stay with our three dogs — one senior pup who needs medication twice a day and two others with daily meds. He was incredibly professional, attentive, and communicative throughout his stay. He made sure everyone got their medications on time, kept us updated regularly, and left our home in great shape. This was our first time using Rover for overnight pet sitting, and we were a bit nervous at first, but Tuan Anh exceeded our expectations. We’d absolutely hire him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!”

“This was our first time having Luis stay at our house for 2 nights and care for our three dogs and cat. We were very pleased with his updates and pictures. We would love to have him puppy sit again. The house looked great when we got back from our trip.”

“Wendy is Amazing . Super punctual and very patient w my high energy/ playful gsd. No negative remarks I heard from her though my dog charge when she enters the door. I will definitely book w her again. Thank you Wendy🙏”

About: Hi! I’m a remote designer and small business owner who genuinely enjoys calm home environments, long walks, enrichment activities, and getting to know each pet’s personality. I currently have two dogs of my own and have spent years around both dogs and cats, so I’m comfortable with a wide range of temperaments, routines, and energy levels. Some pets want lots of playtime and interaction, while others mostly want a calm person nearby. I’m happy to adapt to what helps them feel comfortable and relaxed. Because I make my own schedule and work remotely, I’m able to spend a good amount of time with pets throughout the day instead of only being around mornings and evenings. I especially enjoy enrichment activities like sniff walks, puzzle toys, play sessions, and mentally engaging games to help dogs stay happy and stimulated while their owners are away. I’m also comfortable administering oral medications, sticking to routines, and providing updates/photos during stays. I’m clean, organized, respectful of people’s homes, and I always try to leave things just as tidy and comfortable as I found them. I know it can feel strange leaving your pets and home with someone new, so I try to make the experience feel easy, calm, and low-stress for everyone involved. I work remotely with a flexible schedule, which allows me to spend plenty of time with pets throughout the day while still respecting their normal routines. I’m primarily available for house sitting and weekend stays, and I enjoy providing calm companionship, walks, playtime, and enrichment activities. I understand how important it is to trust someone in your home and with your pets. I’m clean, dependable, communicative, and attentive to routines and instructions. I always aim to keep pets comfortable in their familiar environment and maintain a calm, low-stress atmosphere while you’re away.
“We were very fortunate that Lauren had time in her schedule when we had to make a last- minute trip. She took amazing care of our elderly dogs, assorted birds, and fish. She sent us lots of pics of our very contented dogs snoozing, eating, and on their walks. She handled their special diets and supplements like a pro and even cleaned up a bit, plus watered our many plants, and took out the garbage and recycling. She is so responsible and caring—truly a gem!”

“Eli was so great with Brew! We were able to enjoy our vacation knowing Brew was in good hands. He kept him active with hikes and was happy to give Brew company. Eli was timely and responsible and we will definitely use him again to help with Brew. Thank you!”

About: I’ve always had a dog and have taken care of family and friends’ dogs of all different ages, ranging from puppies to senior dogs. I love making dogs feel loved when their owners are away on trips. I go to school Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during the day, but I am available during the evenings. Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays I am available anytime to care for your pet! I provide care in my clients' homes, where pets can stay comfortable in their familiar environment. Whether I'm house sitting, stopping by for drop-in visits, or taking dogs on walks, I always follow each owner's instructions and keep their pet's normal routine. I make safety a top priority by ensuring doors and gates are secure, and using provided leashes and harnesses during walks. I provide fresh water, meals, potty breaks, exercise, playtime, and plenty of attention to ensure they’re not only cared for but feel loved. I also treat every client's home with care and respect, keep the space clean, and provide regular updates with messages and photos so owners can have peace of mind while they're away.
“Marissa is an angel and the best dog sitter I have had to this date. I’m an anxious dog mom and she made me feel so comfortable caring for our 80 pound border collie mix. She sent constant photos and updates and he was happy in every one of them. Marissa will take outstanding care of your pet and you’ll be able to enjoy your trip stress free! 🤍”

“Anna took great care of Buddy and constantly shared pictures and updates that kept me at ease. Buddy clearly loved his time with Anna and we will definitely be working with her again! Very grateful for her ❤️”

“Thank you Tiffany for being so great with our pups. She saved us last minute when our sitter cancelled the day before our trip. She kept us constantly updated and sent tons of adorable pics. We felt very comfortable having Tiffany stay and look forward to having her for our next adventure.”

“Lily was so sweet! She immediately connected with my dog and Kane loved her! Would 1000% book again. She was so patient, followed all my instructions, and sent pictures to update me on his care!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Poway
Logan did a great job. He is very prompt, responsive and courteous from our meet and greet to the actual dog sitting. We came in from out of town and booked him to watch our little dog while we attended a funeral. She’s not the friendliest. He did a great job. If we are ever back in town we would hire him again. We highly recommend.

Van Nhi was a great dog and house sitter! She watched over our dog for 2 weeks and sent us photo updates daily. She went above and beyond by taking her on more than the number of walks we usually do and also taking her on hikes. Our dog can be shy but she quickly adjusted to Van Nhi. We will definitely book her again!

Bihua was amazing! Even though we had to book last minute, she was able to come over and meet Roxxy before we left. She took Roxxy on fun hikes and made sure she had plenty of love and attention, giving us picture updates along the way. She even got Roxxy some new treats. Overall, Bihua went above and beyond!

Fatima was extremely friendly, and our dogs seemed happy to see her when she visited which we really appreciated. That being said, there were a few things that didn’t quite line up with our expectations. We had gone over ideal daily routine (walks/feeds around 7:30–8am, noon, and 5pm) and asked that the dogs not be left alone for more than about 3 hours at a time if possible. Most visits started later-sometimes not until 11am or later- and once there was a long stretch (about 8 hours) between visits. She didn’t stay overnight, which was fine with us/we completely understand the preference, but we had hoped for more in-person time overall based on the request and our conversations. Upon returning home, we found that our senior dogs left eye (who has no eyelids and requires eye drops each day) was red and inflamed, and covered in gunk. Totally understand that he is a handful and nobody will be able to do the drops and clean as anally as me hah- but I do feel sad that there was no notice of how inflamed and painful his left eye was. She VERY very kindly agreed to a discounted rate in exchange for us offering full access to our guest room, community pool, AC, and streaming services. Overall, while the dogs were safe and she was lovely to interact with, things didn’t quite go as we had hoped. Maybe just suggest being extra clear and aligned on desired schedules and expectations upfront to prevent this.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Poway walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Poway maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Poway choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Poway. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
