“Leigh was the absolute best! She followed our instructions to the T, sent numerous updates and pictures, and even let our furbabies sleep with her. I can't say enough great things about her. Can't wait to have her back next time.”

“Allie was great! I booked it the same day, and she was very flexible with times. She took great care of my two pups in my hotel room. I love taking my dogs on work trips, but it’s difficult finding someone you can trust too. I highly recommend Allie.”
“Dani did house-sitting for us and watched our timid and tempermental cat last week. She did a great job, provided updates, followed instructions and left the house clean. We already have her booked for future summer travel.”

“Crystal was amazing! She helped us last minute and worked with our changing schedule. She did a good job of accommodating all of Roxxys needs. I can tell that Roxxy made a new friend! I would definitely recommend her!”

“Paris took great care of my sometimes anxious dog. She also looked after my fish and chickens. She clearly cares about the animals she watches and goes above and beyond to make sure they’re well looked after.”

“Lily is an extremely sweet, confident, responsible individual. She clearly loves animals and my dog fell in love with her. So glad I found her and look forward to having another opportunity to have her care for my dog”

“Bob was an amazing sitter for our corgi and husky! He was on time for both the meet & greet and the actual booking, and was very professional and kind throughout the entire experience. He sent us multiple daily updates, photos, and videos, and it was clear both dogs were getting lots of playtime, attention, and love. Our corgi usually gets extra emotional when we come home, but this time she seemed so happy and relaxed, which really showed us how well cared for they were. Our house was also left in great condition. We’re very happy with Bob and will definitely book with him again!”

“Daisy was a fantastic house and pup sitter. She was super communicative, professional, and was so great with my rambunctious Australian Shepherd. On top all the great care for my pup, she left my house in great shape- clean, tidy. Will definitely hire again.”

“Danielle was great sitter for our anxious dog. She was friendly and flexible to our changing scheduling needs. She quickly made him comfortable and it was obvious he was missing her as she left.”

About: I’m a reliable, detail‑oriented professional with over 40 years of experience caring for both dogs and cats. Throughout my life, animals have always been part of my home, and I take pride in providing consistent, attentive, and loving care. I live on a fully fenced 1‑acre property in Ramona, which gives dogs plenty of safe space to relax, explore, and enjoy a calm environment. My home is ideal for pets who prefer a quieter setting with room to move. They are welcome indoors too. My husband and I have a 12-year-old retired police German Shepherd who is well-trained and gentle. He failed the academy for being too nice :) Cayman enjoys companionship and does best with friendly, well-mannered dogs. My two daughters and two granddaughters (ages 7 and 9) live with us and are all very comfortable around animals. They’ve grown up around pets and are respectful, supervised, and loving with all animals. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine. I’m currently available and flexible, and I’m happy to work around your schedule and your pet’s specific needs. I’m home most days, which allows me to provide consistent supervision, regular potty breaks, feeding on schedule, and plenty of attention. Please feel free to check my calendar for availability, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have specific timing or routine requests—I do my best to accommodate. I provide care in a calm, safe, and supervised environment. My home includes a fully fenced 1‑acre property with monitored outdoor time, and a kennel available if needed. I follow all care instructions closely and focus on quality, low‑stress care. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their routines and provide updates as requested.
“Marissa was excellent! She was incredibly responsive, sent lots of updates throughout the day, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. The moment she walked into our home, we knew Peanut was going to be in great hands. Peanut warmed up to her almost immediately and happily spent the entire day with her. Everything went flawlessly, and it was clear that she genuinely cared about him and made his comfort a priority. We would highly recommend Marissa to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring sitter and would absolutely book with her again in the future!”

“I had a house/dog sitter lined up but the had a family emergency and bailed on 6 days before I was leaving town. After searching, begging, and panicking, I got a response for Shea who was on board with the work and timeframe! He was very communicative, sending me messages regularly and responding quickly. He kept in the loop about my pets (dog and hamsters). And, one of the most important factors for me, he was kind and enjoyed being with the animals. He has experience with dogs so knows how to work with them and my dog behaved well and listened to him. When we got back my dog was a little confused - this was the first time we had ever left her with another person so we knew that she would be and Shea hung out a few minutes and we talked about some of the many many things he does while we acclimated a bit. My dog has an abuse history but with Shea she wasn't jumpy at all, she was comfortable and felt safe - that alone was a huge sign to me - just seeing how she reacted after a week with him and she was happy, comfortable, and calm. Oh and he pointed out an owie she got while we were gone so we could get it taken care of. Thanks Shea! I highly recommend him to others looking for someone!”

About: I genuinely enjoy being around dogs and making them feel comfortable, safe, and loved. I'm active, patient, and love going on walks, playing, or just keeping them company. I'll care for your dog the same way I would my own. Pet care is already part of my everyday life because of my own dog, Taco. He's super active, so walks and park trips are already part of my everyday routine. I genuinely enjoy being around dogs, so dog walking and drop in visits fit naturally into my schedule. I'm available weekday afternoons and anytime on weekends. I always want dogs to feel safe and comfortable around me. On walks, I pay attention to their pace, surroundings, and anything that could stress them out. In a client's home, I follow their routine and make sure their dog feels relaxed and cared for. I treat my dog like they're my own ❤️

About: I spent a lot of my childhood on a farm, playing and then working with all sorts of animals! I believe this is where my love started! I have cared for dogs and cats as personal pets my entire life, and have always had a love and respect for all animals. I enjoy spending as much of my personal time as possible with them. I have worked at and still often visit my local shelter just to spend time with and comfort the animals there, and I receive emotional support from them as well ;) I have a very flexible work (Real Estate) schedule and am available 24/7. Your pet's SAFETY during times with me is my most IMPORTANT GOAL and RULE! They will NEVER be unleashed. I love walks and visiting dog parks if that is something your pet would like. Thanks and happy tails!!!
“Claudia was wonderful! Our pup is always a little nervous with new people but by day 2 she was snuggled up with Claudia. She sent frequent photos and updates, was great at keeping Kaya on her regular schedule, helped out with other household tasks and left the house clean. I appreciate knowing that Kaya is being well taken care of because it allows me to enjoy my vacation! Kaya will be looking forward to her next stay with Claudia.”

About: Howdy Rover! Growing up, my family always had cats, cats for days, mom did not have the bandwidth for dog shenanigans. But I have been passionate about canine's from my earliest memories. I have been dogsitting and walking my grandparents dog as well as neighborhood dogs since I was 12. MY first dog, raised from 3 months, is the big handsome purebred German Shepherd seen in my profile photo. Koda was adopted from a breeder in 2020. He's very friendly and well trained. My roommate has another Gshep adopted from a shelter, and an Aussie Shep, so I'm used to VERY high energy and demanding dogs. That said, our home can't accommodate anymore furry friends, so I'm only available for housesitting and visits. Looking forward to meeting your furbabies! At this time my availability is completely open. I happily make this my full-time job if possible. I've been out of formal work for a year due to a slump in the job market. I will do my utmost to ensure your pets are safe, happy, and healthy. I'll evaluate potential hazards in the home before you leave, ensure all special instructions are understood and followed, and give you and your pet the best experience possible. I'll give them the same care and attention I would give to my own.
“Thank you Tiffany for being so great with our pups. She saved us last minute when our sitter cancelled the day before our trip. She kept us constantly updated and sent tons of adorable pics. We felt very comfortable having Tiffany stay and look forward to having her for our next adventure.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Fernbrook on Rover is $38 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 6,846 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Fernbrook. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fernbrook walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fernbrook maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fernbrook choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fernbrook. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
