About: I am an animal guy with experience watching many kinds of dogs and cats. I own two pugs one of which is a senior dog and the other a puppy. I have experience with breeding and raising dogs. I love big dogs and small dogs and all dogs in between. I am comfortable around deaf dogs and all dogs with special needs. I am disabled so your pet would be my only priority. I work around my wife's schedule but she only works 3 days a week. Your animal is very special and deserves to be cared for in their home environment. I can play, sit and read or watch TV with your pet. Anything you desire. Short walks for small dogs only as I am disabled, no large dog walks I'm sorry it's a physical safety concern.

We were so lucky to have found Emily. Our pup, Junie, takes a long time to warm up to new people and it takes a while to earn her trust. Emily was endlessly patient in the drop-ins we had her do before having her stay with Junie for a week. In addition to being a kind and calm person, she knows a lot about being around a reactive dog and earning their trust. We felt totally at ease with Junie in Emily’s care and we loved how Emily put together a shared album to see how Junie was doing throughout the week.

About: I am a loving pet-care provider, with 30 years of experience taking care of animals. I have an American Red Cross certification in dog & cat first aid. I've taken care of many different breeds of dogs - my own Shelties and Great Pyrenees, friends' and family's dogs, and at a shelter. I've walked them, played with them, bathed them, done drop-in visits, given medications, provided social interaction between them, and loved on them! I have taken care of my dogs through their senior years when they have had cancer, with various medications to administer and lots of love to give them. I have also had several cats and I would love to take care of yours! I love their quirky personalities :) I am privately insured, in addition to the Rover Guarantee that you receive. I am free almost anytime, weekdays and weekends. I want to make it as convenient for your pup or cat to keep their schedule that they are used to. For drop-in visits, I will keep to the pup's or cat’s schedule and preferred activity - whether it's sitting in your dog’s comfy bed, chasing balls in your yard, playing fetch, or playing with your cat’s catnip & feather toys!

Terra did an amazing job with Maisy. I had to hire unexpectedly at the last minute and she was so quick to respond and had great communication, she was also flexible with her schedule in order to accommodate mine. She sent tons of pictures which I appreciate too! I will definitely reach out to her for my future trips to San Diego.

Wendy is absolutely our pup’s favorite sitter— and ours as well!! We were stoked to have Wendy back with us while we were out of town for 5 days. During this time, she communicated frequently (and unprompted—her confidence and sense of initiative is so appreciated, especially when one is traveling). She sent multiple photos a day of Nebula and left us feeling completely at ease. Our home was treated with love and care and we returned to a very happy, healthy pup. Nebula can be quite demanding when it comes to attention, pets, and scratches, and Wendy generously indulged her in all of the above. Thank you!! 💛💛💛

I had a house/dog sitter lined up but the had a family emergency and bailed on 6 days before I was leaving town. After searching, begging, and panicking, I got a response for Shea who was on board with the work and timeframe! He was very communicative, sending me messages regularly and responding quickly. He kept in the loop about my pets (dog and hamsters). And, one of the most important factors for me, he was kind and enjoyed being with the animals. He has experience with dogs so knows how to work with them and my dog behaved well and listened to him. When we got back my dog was a little confused - this was the first time we had ever left her with another person so we knew that she would be and Shea hung out a few minutes and we talked about some of the many many things he does while we acclimated a bit. My dog has an abuse history but with Shea she wasn't jumpy at all, she was comfortable and felt safe - that alone was a huge sign to me - just seeing how she reacted after a week with him and she was happy, comfortable, and calm. Oh and he pointed out an owie she got while we were gone so we could get it taken care of. Thanks Shea! I highly recommend him to others looking for someone!

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was kindergartener, I grew up with a beagle and an English Springer Spaniel. I have 4 dogs at home that I adore. I am currently not working so my schedule is open. I am able to work after 9:30 am and I can watch your dog at your house over night. I have a fenced in yard so my dogs do not leave the yard. I also have a tortoise living in my back yard. His name is Fred.

I was so nervous about leaving my dog with a stranger for 3 days, but Claudia went above and beyond to make me feel at ease. She was kind enough to meet my dog beforehand to make sure it was a good fit—and my dog loved her instantly. She even rolled over for belly rubs, which she never does for anyone new! While I was away, Claudia sent me tons of photos and videos, which made me feel so connected. I had left very specific door-training instructions (my dog must sit before the door is opened, and the hallway must be cleared before the release command). Claudia followed these perfectly, which was really important to me for safety and consistency. When I came home, my house was spotless—honestly cleaner than when I left. Even my Brita was filled to the top! And the sweetest surprise of all: it was my dog’s birthday while I was away, and Claudia threw her a mini birthday party. She sent me photos of my dog in rainbow birthday hats, a princess sash, with balloons and a new toy. It meant the world to me to see someone else celebrate my dog with so much love. She also shared the cutest little updates, like how my dog would wake up around 2 or 3 a.m., give her a kiss, then go back to bed. It’s the small details like that that showed me she truly cared and kept our routine. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. My dog adored her, and I’ve already recommended Claudia to my coworkers. I’ll definitely be hiring her again—not just for overnight stays but for occasional walks too, so they can keep their sweet bond going.

We would work with Jenilee again. She did a meet & greet and asked good questions before we went out of town. She sent photos of the pets each day and was flexible with our return time on her last daysince we were driving. She kept us updated and cleaned up after one of the dogs got into the garbage. She also responded to text messages and questions before and during her stay.

About: For the past 12 years, I’ve had the joy of caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. What started as helping out family and friends has grown into a deep passion for providing safe, loving, and dependable care whenever pet parents need an extra hand. Over the years, I’ve dog sat energetic puppies, senior dogs needing a gentler pace, and everything in between. I’m comfortable with: * Daily walks and exercise routines * Feeding schedules and special dietary needs * Administering basic medications * Reinforcing training and good behavior * Providing companionship and emotional comfort Dog sitting isn’t just about supervision for me—it’s about creating a calm, nurturing environment where each dog feels secure and loved while their family is away. A big part of my experience comes from caring for my own dog, Roro. He’s a 6-year-old Retriever mix I adopted from Tijuana who had clearly experienced abuse before coming into my life. When I first brought him home, he was fearful of people and easily startled. Through patience, consistency, and a lot of love, I helped him slowly build trust and confidence. Watching him transform into the happy, affectionate dog he is today has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Because of Roro, I have a special understanding of anxious, shy, or previously mistreated dogs. I know how important it is to move at their pace, respect their boundaries, and create positive associations through gentle care. My years of hands-on experience—combined with raising and rehabilitating my own rescue—have given me the skills to handle a variety of temperaments and situations with calm confidence. Dogs aren’t just pets to me; they’re family. Right now, I’m in between jobs and intentionally taking time to focus on my next career move, which means I have full availability and a flexible schedule. I’m available anytime for dog sitting and can provide reliable, attentive, and loving care for your pet. Because I already have three dogs at home and share the space with roommates, I provide care in your home where your pet is most comfortable and secure. This allows your dog to stay in their familiar environment, maintain their routine, and experience less stress while you’re away. I tailor my care to each dog’s specific needs and energy level. That can include: * Long walks for high-energy dogs who need plenty of exercise * Shorter, slower-paced walks for senior dogs or those who prefer a relaxed routine * Playtime with their favorite toys to keep them mentally and physically stimulated * Feeding, fresh water, and maintaining their regular schedule * Administering basic medications if needed * Simply spending quality time with them — offering companionship, affection, and reassurance Some dogs need lots of activity, while others just want someone calm and present. I’m attentive to their cues and make sure they feel safe, engaged, and cared for while you’re away. My goal is always to keep their routine consistent and their stress levels low.

Emma was outstanding in every way and an absolute lifesaver. I made a last-minute booking, and she not only accepted but graciously made time for a meet-and-greet! She's a true professional, and her expertise with animals was apparent. She immediately put my dog at ease, recognizing his body language and maintaining a calm, steady demeanor. My dog has severe separation anxiety and other behavioral issues, yet he was clearly well cared for, and he was sleeping like a baby when we returned. I highly recommend her for any animal care.
