“Allie was great! I booked it the same day, and she was very flexible with times. She took great care of my two pups in my hotel room. I love taking my dogs on work trips, but it’s difficult finding someone you can trust too. I highly recommend Allie.”
“Leigh was the absolute best! She followed our instructions to the T, sent numerous updates and pictures, and even let our furbabies sleep with her. I can't say enough great things about her. Can't wait to have her back next time.”

“I had a house/dog sitter lined up but the had a family emergency and bailed on 6 days before I was leaving town. After searching, begging, and panicking, I got a response for Shea who was on board with the work and timeframe! He was very communicative, sending me messages regularly and responding quickly. He kept in the loop about my pets (dog and hamsters). And, one of the most important factors for me, he was kind and enjoyed being with the animals. He has experience with dogs so knows how to work with them and my dog behaved well and listened to him. When we got back my dog was a little confused - this was the first time we had ever left her with another person so we knew that she would be and Shea hung out a few minutes and we talked about some of the many many things he does while we acclimated a bit. My dog has an abuse history but with Shea she wasn't jumpy at all, she was comfortable and felt safe - that alone was a huge sign to me - just seeing how she reacted after a week with him and she was happy, comfortable, and calm. Oh and he pointed out an owie she got while we were gone so we could get it taken care of. Thanks Shea! I highly recommend him to others looking for someone!”

“Paris took great care of my sometimes anxious dog. She also looked after my fish and chickens. She clearly cares about the animals she watches and goes above and beyond to make sure they’re well looked after.”

“We would work with Jenilee again. She did a meet & greet and asked good questions before we went out of town. She sent photos of the pets each day and was flexible with our return time on her last daysince we were driving. She kept us updated and cleaned up after one of the dogs got into the garbage. She also responded to text messages and questions before and during her stay.”

“Lily was an amazing house sitter and took such great care of our dog Marley! She sent daily updates with photos and we knew Marley was well exercised with daily walks and given lots of love. We came home to a clean house and a very happy dog. I highly recommend Lily and will definitely hire her again. Thank you Lily!!”

“Dani did house-sitting for us and watched our timid and tempermental cat last week. She did a great job, provided updates, followed instructions and left the house clean. We already have her booked for future summer travel.”

“Emily took fantastic care of our fur babies while we were away! She stayed in contact and sent us pics along the way. We returned to happy and well-cared-for pets! We'd book her again in a heartbeat!”

About: I spent a lot of my childhood on a farm, playing and then working with all sorts of animals! I believe this is where my love started! I have cared for dogs and cats as personal pets my entire life, and have always had a love and respect for all animals. I enjoy spending as much of my personal time as possible with them. I have worked at and still often visit my local shelter just to spend time with and comfort the animals there, and I receive emotional support from them as well ;) I have a very flexible work (Real Estate) schedule and am available 24/7. Your pet's SAFETY during times with me is my most IMPORTANT GOAL and RULE! They will NEVER be unleashed. I love walks and visiting dog parks if that is something your pet would like. Thanks and happy tails!!!

About: I've always loved animals and have experience caring for pets for friends, family, and my own. I have two cats and have cared for my boyfriend's two cats for about a year, as well as a friend's cat for another year. I am also comfortable caring for dogs and enjoy spending time with pets of different personalities and energy levels. I currently offer dog walking, drop-in visits, and house sitting at the clients home. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, feeding, cleaning litter boxes, or simply having someone keep them company, I will make sure they receive the care and attention they need while you are away. I know every pet has a different routine, and I am very detail oriented, so I will always take the time to follow your instructions and help them feel safe and comfortable. I currently work part-time, so I have a flexible schedule and can spend quality time with your pets. My goal is to treat every pet like they are my own and provide reliable, loving care. I will also keep you updated with messages and photos so you can have peace of mind while you are away. I look forward to meeting you and your lovely pets! I currently work part-time, which gives me a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for your pets. I'm available for morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend visits, and I can work around your pet's normal routine to make sure they get the attention and care they deserve. I've always loved animals and know how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for them. I take the time to learn each pet's routine and personality so they feel as comfortable as possible while you're away. I have two cats, a bearded dragon, and a frog, so caring for animals is a part of my everyday life. I'll treat your pets like they're my own, keep your home clean and respected, and send plenty of updates and photos so you know they're happy and doing well.
“Claudia was wonderful! Our pup is always a little nervous with new people but by day 2 she was snuggled up with Claudia. She sent frequent photos and updates, was great at keeping Kaya on her regular schedule, helped out with other household tasks and left the house clean. I appreciate knowing that Kaya is being well taken care of because it allows me to enjoy my vacation! Kaya will be looking forward to her next stay with Claudia.”

“Marissa was excellent! She was incredibly responsive, sent lots of updates throughout the day, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. The moment she walked into our home, we knew Peanut was going to be in great hands. Peanut warmed up to her almost immediately and happily spent the entire day with her. Everything went flawlessly, and it was clear that she genuinely cared about him and made his comfort a priority. We would highly recommend Marissa to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring sitter and would absolutely book with her again in the future!”

About: I am an animal guy with experience watching many kinds of dogs and cats. I own two pugs one of which is a senior dog and the other a puppy. I have experience with breeding and raising dogs. I love big dogs and small dogs and all dogs in between. I am comfortable around deaf dogs and all dogs with special needs. I am disabled so your pet would be my only priority. I work around my wife's schedule but she only works 3 days a week. Your animal is very special and deserves to be cared for in their home environment. I can play, sit and read or watch TV with your pet. Anything you desire. Short walks for small dogs only as I am disabled, no large dog walks I'm sorry it's a physical safety concern.
About: Hi! I’m a remote designer and small business owner who genuinely enjoys calm home environments, long walks, enrichment activities, and getting to know each pet’s personality. I currently have two dogs of my own and have spent years around both dogs and cats, so I’m comfortable with a wide range of temperaments, routines, and energy levels. Some pets want lots of playtime and interaction, while others mostly want a calm person nearby. I’m happy to adapt to what helps them feel comfortable and relaxed. Because I make my own schedule and work remotely, I’m able to spend a good amount of time with pets throughout the day instead of only being around mornings and evenings. I especially enjoy enrichment activities like sniff walks, puzzle toys, play sessions, and mentally engaging games to help dogs stay happy and stimulated while their owners are away. I’m also comfortable administering oral medications, sticking to routines, and providing updates/photos during stays. I’m clean, organized, respectful of people’s homes, and I always try to leave things just as tidy and comfortable as I found them. I know it can feel strange leaving your pets and home with someone new, so I try to make the experience feel easy, calm, and low-stress for everyone involved. I work remotely with a flexible schedule, which allows me to spend plenty of time with pets throughout the day while still respecting their normal routines. I’m primarily available for house sitting and weekend stays, and I enjoy providing calm companionship, walks, playtime, and enrichment activities. I understand how important it is to trust someone in your home and with your pets. I’m clean, dependable, communicative, and attentive to routines and instructions. I always aim to keep pets comfortable in their familiar environment and maintain a calm, low-stress atmosphere while you’re away.

About: I took care of 'Beau', a very large white American Retriever. He is the sweetest! I was temporary mom to Elsie, a huuuuuge Great Dane lady. You can see images of me and Elsie in my profile. I took care of a home and Chester (Tabby Male Kitty), Luna (Black Female Kitty) and their dog sister SnoBella. I watched these 3 for several months while their mama was recovering from illness. You can see images of SnoBella, Chester, Luna and I walking. The kitties loved to walk with SnoBella and me. I am also a plant mom. My own home — which is cared for by my daughter when I'm gone — contains 3 indoor trees and over 10 live plants, as well as a Gardyn indoor garden. I consider my plants also sort of my babies and will take care of yours as well. I work remotely, which allows me to spend much of the day with the pets in my care. Because I'm home throughout the day, I can provide companionship, maintain their normal routine, and keep a close eye on their well-being. Many pets enjoy relaxing nearby while I work, whether that's a cat curled up in my lap or a dog snoozing by my desk. If your pet is allowed outside I sometimes enjoy sitting on the patio and letting them roam the yard while I work. I keep pets on their normal routine as much as possible. My day includes feeding, fresh water, litter box cleaning or potty breaks, playtime, walks, and plenty of affection. Since I work remotely, pets often keep me company throughout the day, whether that's a cat in my lap or a dog at my feet. If approved by the pet parent, I'm also happy to let pets sleep with me so they feel safe and comfortable while you're away.
“We were very appreciative of Beth, our dog ended up having separation anxiety that we we did not anticipate and she kept us informed and did her best to keep our dog calm while we were away. Beth was very easy to communicate with, we would recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter. Thank you Beth!”
About: I have been caring for animals my entire life, and I have 10 years of professional pet care experience. I can care for dogs, cats, horses, reptiles, chickens, and rodents. I enjoy walking, watching, feeding and just generally caring for all animals. Anytime on weekends. I am also available during the day all week except for Tuesday. I take care of animals on a farm and that is taken care of at dawn and dusk. I come with plenty of poop bags, water, and healthy dog treats. I follow instructions to the letter and I make the safety of animals my priority.
About: Howdy Rover! Growing up, my family always had cats, cats for days, mom did not have the bandwidth for dog shenanigans. But I have been passionate about canine's from my earliest memories. I have been dogsitting and walking my grandparents dog as well as neighborhood dogs since I was 12. MY first dog, raised from 3 months, is the big handsome purebred German Shepherd seen in my profile photo. Koda was adopted from a breeder in 2020. He's very friendly and well trained. My roommate has another Gshep adopted from a shelter, and an Aussie Shep, so I'm used to VERY high energy and demanding dogs. That said, our home can't accommodate anymore furry friends, so I'm only available for housesitting and visits. Looking forward to meeting your furbabies! At this time my availability is completely open. I happily make this my full-time job if possible. I've been out of formal work for a year due to a slump in the job market. I will do my utmost to ensure your pets are safe, happy, and healthy. I'll evaluate potential hazards in the home before you leave, ensure all special instructions are understood and followed, and give you and your pet the best experience possible. I'll give them the same care and attention I would give to my own.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 2,489 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Mesa Grande. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mesa Grande walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mesa Grande maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mesa Grande choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mesa Grande. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
