About: I've taken care of dogs, cats and rats for most of my life. I've done it for family, friends and neighbors. This has always been my way of having as many pets as I truly would love to have and keep my husband! I am currently working part-time and I can schedule my work around any pet care. I will never "short" any animal the time they deserve. I prefer to take care of pets in their own environment. I think they do better with someone coming into their home instead of bringing them into a strange home. I think care depends a lot on the pet involved. I have the time and love to give them as much or as little as they need and want.

About: Growing up as a country girl, I've always had a deep connection with animals and a passion for caring for them. My experience in pet care includes looking after a variety of pets, from cats and dogs to farm animals like horses and goats. I ensure a safe and loving environment for all pets in my care, treating each one as if they were my own. My daily routine allows me to dedicate ample time to play, exercise, and provide personalized care, ensuring that every pet gets the attention they deserve. With a focus on trust and safety, I’m committed to making both pets and their owners feel at ease while I offer my services. I'm currently working for Uber part-time with open availability in the evening after 3pm Mon-Friday. Being self-employed not only allows me to make my own schedule, but I have a very reliable vehicle with lots of space. I've already been transporting dogs and cats with their owners for a couple of years now, and I've gotten wonderful feedback about the level of comfort their furry friends experience during transport! When your pet is in my care, they will be safe and well looked after. I keep a close eye on them and provide secure spaces for playing. I believe trust is important, so I communicate with pet owners to give them peace of mind. Your pet will get personal attention, lots of love, and fun activities, making their time with me enjoyable and stress-free. You can be confident that I will create a friendly and positive atmosphere for all pets!

Emily was absolutely fantastic! We were home overseas for three weeks and Emily was in daily communication with photos of our beautiful fur babies loving her in every pic. Emily loved our animals as much as we do, they even slept in her room as they love human connection. We will use Emily everytime we travel. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ all the way!

Claudia is truly exceptional! This was our second time having her care for our four dogs, and she continues to amaze us with each visit. Over Thanksgiving week, she cared for three elderly dogs with gentle attentiveness and one rambunctious four‑year‑old “teenager” pup who is endlessly active and seeking adventures. Her adaptability in balancing the needs of senior dogs with the energy of a high‑spirited youngster was remarkable — each received the perfect mix of patience, play, and love, making us feel completely at ease while away. Not only did she keep the dogs happy and well‑cared‑for, but she went above and beyond in every detail. We returned to a beautifully clean and tidy home — honestly better than when we left it. Her reliability, kindness, and willingness to go the extra mile make her an absolute treasure. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter, and we wholeheartedly recommend Claudia to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring.

About: Ever since I can remember, myself as well as my family have loved and enjoyed dogs and they have always been a part of our family. I got my first puppy when I was 12 years old. She was a rescue and I had her until I was 26 years old. Her name was Molly. We had many other dogs during that time. My sister's and I were who cared for them all. Although this is my first time running a business caring for dogs, I have taken care of dogs most of my life. Some people call themselves a "people person". I call myself a "dog person". I have always had a natural ability to connect with dogs. Dogs have always loved being with me. I care for them as if they were a child of mine. As I always have said, the more I get to know people; the more I love dogs! I'm currently a student at home so, I am available to give your pet my undivided attention. I treat all animals as if they are my own, like family. I love to spend quality time with animals. I also have good hygiene. I believe this is important because we all know how dirty animals can be. I am gentle and loving.

I had a house/dog sitter lined up but the had a family emergency and bailed on 6 days before I was leaving town. After searching, begging, and panicking, I got a response for Shea who was on board with the work and timeframe! He was very communicative, sending me messages regularly and responding quickly. He kept in the loop about my pets (dog and hamsters). And, one of the most important factors for me, he was kind and enjoyed being with the animals. He has experience with dogs so knows how to work with them and my dog behaved well and listened to him. When we got back my dog was a little confused - this was the first time we had ever left her with another person so we knew that she would be and Shea hung out a few minutes and we talked about some of the many many things he does while we acclimated a bit. My dog has an abuse history but with Shea she wasn't jumpy at all, she was comfortable and felt safe - that alone was a huge sign to me - just seeing how she reacted after a week with him and she was happy, comfortable, and calm. Oh and he pointed out an owie she got while we were gone so we could get it taken care of. Thanks Shea! I highly recommend him to others looking for someone!

About: I am an animal guy with experience watching many kinds of dogs and cats. I own two pugs one of which is a senior dog and the other a puppy. I have experience with breeding and raising dogs. I love big dogs and small dogs and all dogs in between. I am comfortable around deaf dogs and all dogs with special needs. I am disabled so your pet would be my only priority. I work around my wife's schedule but she only works 3 days a week. Your animal is very special and deserves to be cared for in their home environment. I can play, sit and read or watch TV with your pet. Anything you desire. Short walks for small dogs only as I am disabled, no large dog walks I'm sorry it's a physical safety concern.

Paris is awesome! She was booked to puppy sit our 10 week old Irishsdoodle and she ended up meeting all three of our cats which takes a special person to lure them all out from under the bed when a new person is in the house. We will definitely rebook her again. She is thorough, trustworthy and very good with both dogs and cats. If you need a walker or a sitter or a house stay, she will be excellent!

I currently work part-time from home, which provides a flexible schedule and ample time to care for your pets. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or cuddles, I ensure your pet receives consistent attention, care, and companionship throughout the day. About: I am a reliable and dedicated dog sitter with six years of experience. I genuinely enjoy what I do, and I understand that each dog has their own personality, needs, and routines. I take time to make sure each dog in my care feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you are away. I enjoy being surrounded by dogs and learning new things along the way, I strive to create a positive environment where pets can relax and feel secure as if they were at home. I know how important trust and communication are when leaving a pet with a sitter. That’s why I focus on being dependable, responsible, and respectful of both pets and their homes. I provide updates and photos so owners can feel reassured that their dogs are happy, safe, and receiving the best care possible. Through my years of experience, I have cared for dogs of many different breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I am comfortable working with energetic dogs that require frequent exercise as well as calmer or older dogs that need a slower pace and more patience. My responsibilities have included feeding schedules, administering basic medications if needed, maintaining secure spaces for puppies and seniors, ensuring clean water and bedding, daily walks, monitored playtime, leash training, kennel training, connecting with anxious or aggressive dogs, etc. I have also gained experience understanding dog body language and behavioral cues. This has helped me recognize when a dog may be stressed, excited, tired, or in need of attention. Being attentive to these signals allows me to respond appropriately and provide care that fits each dog’s personality and needs. My goal is to make sure every pet feels secure and relaxed while in my care. I understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big decision, which is why I prioritize reliability, communication, and respect. I make sure to keep owners updated with messages and photos so they know their dog is being well cared for. Building trust with both pets and their owners is very important to me. Overall, my experience caring for animals has taught me patience, responsibility, and attention to detail. I genuinely enjoy spending time with the dogs I care for, and I strive to provide a safe, attentive, and positive environment where every dog feels comfortable and loved. Caring for dogs is a natural part of my daily routine. I structure my schedule so I have plenty of time to give dogs the attention, exercise, and care they deserve. Because of this, I’m able to stay consistent with walks, feeding schedules, playtime, and constant supervision. Throughout the week, I intentionally set aside time for dog care activities such as walks, outdoor breaks, enrichment, and quality interaction. I enjoy being active and spending time outside, so taking dogs on walks or letting them explore safely is something that fits easily into my lifestyle. This allows me to provide pets with both physical activity and mental stimulation. In addition to basic care, I also make time to simply spend quality time with the pets I watch. Whether it’s playing, giving attention, or keeping them company, I believe dogs benefit from having someone present who is patient and engaged with them. I try to make sure every dog feels comfortable and cared for during their stay. I am used to maintaining structured care routines, which is important for helping dogs stay relaxed while their owners are away. I follow feeding schedules carefully, make sure pets always have fresh water, and ensure they get regular bathroom breaks and exercise. Sticking to their normal routine helps dogs feel safe and reduces unnecessary stress. When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, my main goal is to keep their routine as consistent and comfortable as possible. I carefully follow the owner’s instructions for feeding schedules, walks, medications if needed, and any specific care preferences. Maintaining a familiar routine helps pets feel safe and reduces stress while their owners are away. In terms of boarding in my home, I create a calm and safe environment where dogs have space to relax, play, and receive plenty of attention. I make sure they get regular potty breaks, daily walks, and time for exercise and mental stimulation. I also monitor them closely to ensure they are comfortable and adjusting well to the new environment. When house sitting in a client’s home, I focus on keeping the pet’s care exactly how they are used to it. I provide feeding, walks, playtime, and companionship while also keeping the home clean with respect to the owner’s space. Staying in the pet’s familiar environment often helps them feel more relaxed while their owner is away. I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior and body language to make sure they are comfortable and happy. If a dog is more energetic, I make sure they get enough activity. If they are older or more relaxed, I adjust the care to be calm and patient. Communication is very important to me while caring for pets. I provide regular updates and photos so owners know their pets are safe and happy. My goal is to give pets reliable and attentive care.

About: From a very young age I learned to care for pets and farm animals. In 4-H I studied animal husbandry. As an adult, I have had many dogs and cats. I love them as my family. My last two rescue dogs (American Pit Bull Terriers) made it to almost 13 years old before they crossed the rainbow bridge over the last few years. I am not ready for my own new family member, but I still miss the companionship of animals. So it just seems right to take care of yours. I am semi-retired, so I am free on most weekdays except Wednesdays. I get up early and do chores around the house in the morning, then go outside for a bit in the afernoons unless it is too hot. I live on 40 acres in the countryside. It's not fenced but I can take your pups for a great walk around the property on a leash. I have 3 spare bedrooms if they need quiet space. Or I have a kennel in my bedroom if they like to be with someone.

FAQs for House Sitting - Holcomb Village

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Holcomb Village on Rover is $27.75 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 1,103 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Holcomb Village. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Holcomb Village walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Holcomb Village maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Holcomb Village choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Holcomb Village. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
