After searching, begging, and panicking, I got a response for Shea who was on board with the work and timeframe! He was very communicative, sending me messages regularly and responding quickly. He kept in the loop about my pets (dog and hamsters). And, one of the most important factors for me, he was kind and enjoyed being with the animals. He has experience with dogs so knows how to work with them and my dog behaved well and listened to him. When we got back my dog was a little confused - this was the first time we had ever left her with another person so we knew that she would be and Shea hung out a few minutes and we talked about some of the many many things he does while we acclimated a bit. My dog has an abuse history but with Shea she wasn't jumpy at all, she was comfortable and felt safe - that alone was a huge sign to me - just seeing how she reacted after a week with him and she was happy, comfortable, and calm. Oh and he pointed out an owie she got while we were gone so we could get it taken care of. Thanks Shea! I highly recommend him to others looking for someone!”

About: I have taken care of animals of all kinds since a young age. I grew in a home with cats, and later dogs were introduced. However, outside of the home life I was surrounded by dogs! The daycare I attended had an in-home grooming service, and I got to help groom the 13 dogs that lived there! I’ve also been fortunate enough to be a part of the training process for some dogs that have been in 4-H! Finally to the good stuff; I’ve been a reliable dog/house sitter for the same couple for the last 5 years. In the span of those 5 years, they moved 3 houses, and so I got to experience first hand how upset the pups can get when their environment is changed. Some of the basic duties include feeding and making sure they have water, making sure they’re going to the bathroom regularly, being walked and played with regularly and cleaning up messes. Some additional tasks are taking them to their vet visits and administering medication (pill-form)! My availability is pretty flexible! I’m a full time student, so I currently am not working. I will take care of feeding, and making sure they have water. I will ensure they have been walked, played with, have had treats, and are snuggled at night time! About: I took care of 'Beau', a very large white American Retriever. He is the sweetest! I was temporary mom to Elsie, a huuuuuge Great Dane lady. You can see images of me and Elsie in my profile. I took care of a home and Chester (Tabby Male Kitty), Luna (Black Female Kitty) and their dog sister SnoBella. I watched these 3 for several months while their mama was recovering from illness. You can see images of SnoBella, Chester, Luna and I walking. The kitties loved to walk with SnoBella and me. I am also a plant mom. My own home — which is cared for by my daughter when I'm gone — contains 3 indoor trees and over 10 live plants, as well as a Gardyn indoor garden. I consider my plants also sort of my babies and will take care of yours as well. I work remotely, which allows me to spend much of the day with the pets in my care. Because I'm home throughout the day, I can provide companionship, maintain their normal routine, and keep a close eye on their well-being. Many pets enjoy relaxing nearby while I work, whether that's a cat curled up in my lap or a dog snoozing by my desk. If your pet is allowed outside I sometimes enjoy sitting on the patio and letting them roam the yard while I work. I keep pets on their normal routine as much as possible. My day includes feeding, fresh water, litter box cleaning or potty breaks, playtime, walks, and plenty of affection. Since I work remotely, pets often keep me company throughout the day, whether that's a cat in my lap or a dog at my feet. If approved by the pet parent, I'm also happy to let pets sleep with me so they feel safe and comfortable while you're away.
