“Jinni is great! We weren’t sure how our toy poodle would handle spending time with a stranger (he can be a little shy and this was our first booking). We were so happy to see him hanging out on her lap shortly after we left! Clearly Jinni’s calm, easy energy made him feel right at home. :) Highly recommend!”

“This was my first time using Rover, and I'm so happy I did. Jamie was great! She met my dog a few days before and was super calm and kind. She's clearly a dog lover, and my dog loved her immediately. Jamie sent picture updates while I was gone and everything was great when I got back. I will definitely hire Jamie in the future for my next trip.”
“We try to avoid having to leave our little guys for any great length of time. Luis really made our worries and hesitations go away! Luis kept us updated daily with tons of images of them playing and resting and kept us informed of their daily events. Luis also stayed at our home with our Frenchies so they felt like someone was there all the time taking care of them. Luis was a responsible and trustful dog/home watcher for the week we were gone. We would definitely hire Luis again the next time we need to travel for any length of time.”

“Karen is super friendly and kind, and did an absolutely amazing job taking care of both my apartment and my two cats! I immediately felt comfortable with her at the meet and greet, she sent so many great photos and updates while I was away, and my place looks just as clean as when I left it! If you’re overwhelmed with choices on here, this is your sign, Karen is the one you should pick!”

About: Hello! I am an animal lover who has recently relocated to the SD area. I regularly have sat for family, friends, and word of mouth recommendations for over a decade. I have cared for pets as small as tree frogs to a home with multiple large pit bull mixes, to a diabetic cat in need of insulin injections twice a day. Whatever type of pet you have I promise to love them as much as I love my own! I am currently at home full time. I regularly take walks to get out of the house and would love to have a companion join me! I love animals and couldn’t imagine spending my day in a better way than with them! I do have my own cat which means for multi day jobs I would occasionally want to visit her (my partner is there to care for her) but I am available to spend majority of the time at a clients home. I have a fenced back yard for your animal to run around in. I would keep your pet in the living room and kitchen are with me while I leave the bedrooms for my cat. I love going on walks so I will be more than happy to take your dogs out with me ( no dog parks or off leash areas).
“I had a wonderful experience with Val! She was reliable, communicative, and clearly cared for my dog as if it was her own. I received regular updates and photos, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. I would absolutely recommend Val to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter, and I will definitely be using her services again.”

“Bob was an amazing sitter for our corgi and husky! He was on time for both the meet & greet and the actual booking, and was very professional and kind throughout the entire experience. He sent us multiple daily updates, photos, and videos, and it was clear both dogs were getting lots of playtime, attention, and love. Our corgi usually gets extra emotional when we come home, but this time she seemed so happy and relaxed, which really showed us how well cared for they were. Our house was also left in great condition. We’re very happy with Bob and will definitely book with him again!”

“Thank you Tiffany for being so great with our pups. She saved us last minute when our sitter cancelled the day before our trip. She kept us constantly updated and sent tons of adorable pics. We felt very comfortable having Tiffany stay and look forward to having her for our next adventure.”

“Anna was amazing, not only did she show up on time, but she sent me several check ins throughout the night. She made sure that I knew that my Furkid was happy and safe. She followed the directions I left for her to the T. Anna was extremely punctual and professional. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is in need of pet sitting. She was the epitome of a perfect pet sitter. I will definitely book her again ❤️”

“Patricia was amazing! We did a meet and greet before staying at our house while we were traveling, she was on time, very professional and very sweet. She communicated very well throughout the process and was very attentive to any needs of our dogs. Everything went perfectly for our first time using Rover and Patricia, we will definitely be using her again.”

About: **First of all, I only take care of one pet at a time, because I want to provide all of my attention to the pet. Secondly, I recently adopted a puppy, so I will take care of your pet while training my dog. My dog is a Cavapoo, he is very enthusiastic and can get along well with all dogs and cats, so you can bring your dog to my home without any worries. I believe they will become good friends!** Hi, I am Yage, I just graduated from UC Berkeley in May and moved back to San Diego. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree at MICA, and luckily, it’s a 100% online program. So I spend most of my time at home, and my schedule is very flexible, giving me plenty of time to take care of your furry friends. In addition, I am also an artist running a handmade online shop. I am not doing Rover sitting for income; I joined simply because I genuinely love taking care of dogs and cats! I’ve been passionate about dogs since I got my first golden retriever, Coco, when I was 20. I raised her from just 2 months old and trained her to do fun tricks like shaking paws and even distinguishing between her left and right paw! Coco's most impressive skill was playing dead whenever I mimicked a “bang bang” motion with my hand — she’d drop to the floor and stay still. She was healthy and happy for 14 wonderful years before passing away this March due to old age. I’ve always loved dogs and cat, while I’m not ready for a new one just yet, I often care for my friends' dogs, including corgis, Pomeranians, and labradors. I treat every dog I look after as if they were my own, ensuring they get plenty of attention, playtime, and love. As a freelancer and owner of a handmade art shop, my schedule is flexible, allowing me to care for pets throughout the day. I can easily adjust my routine to ensure that pets get plenty of attention, playtime, and care, making sure they feel comfortable and loved while their owners are away. My home is pet-free, so your pet will have a calm and clean environment to stay in. We maintain a tidy and safe space, making it an ideal place for your pet to feel comfortable. Our neighborhood has a large grassy area where many dogs enjoy playing, giving your pet plenty of space for walks and outdoor fun. Plus, our pet-friendly apartment ensures that your pet will be welcome and well cared for during their stay.
“Bella was very kind and patient with my senior dog. He unexpectedly had a procedure the night before and Bella was very attentive while watching him and followed all instructions.”

“Jen was wonderful with my pups while pet sitting for a week. She sent me daily updates, able to win over nervous pups, and took them for daily walks. My pups loved her! Jen was also a very respectful guest in my home. Highly recommended!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals all my life. My mom was a vet tech when I was younger so I know how to give meds, etc. I am a stay at home wife with 4 fur babies ! 3 kittens and 1 crazy puppy!!! I’m available almost always with same day booking!! I will make sure times are consistent and everything is fresh and refilled at all times. And lots of playtime and cuddles included as well.
“Jordan was absolutely the best! She was communicative and sent a lot of great photos of Charlie and Hudson. We knew they were having a wonderful time and in very good care with Jordan. We will definitely book Jordan as again for our next trips.”

“Vannessa and Jason were amazing! They took such great care of our two pups and home. We were gone for 2 weeks and this was the longest we’d ever been away. It was such a stress free trip entrusting them with our pups! They were very communicative and provided updates and pics everyday while we were gone. The house was so clean when we came back! Cannot recommend them enough. We will definitely be asking them to housesit everytime we leave!”

About: I grew up with my mom rescuing dogs and cats found in our neighborhood. Most of them were failed fosters. I grew up with 5 cats and 6 dogs, with my cat living with me up until my senior year of college until she passed. I always look forward to going home to seeing all of our animals! From big to small- from our cats to our dogs. Each one of them has their own personalities and needs. I have experience with kittens, senior cats, bigger dogs, small dogs, epileptic dogs, and young cats, I am currently working part-time so I have plenty of availability. I am available most weekends, mornings, and evenings. I am unavailable Monday nights and Tuesday mornings. I value safety with every pet. As a previous pet owner, I always would want someone’s pet to feel comfortable and safe with me and be able to create a good trust and bond!
“Stephanie was amazing, took great care of our dog and two cats and provided regular updates/photos. Our dog can be nervous around new people and warmed up to her very quickly. Will definitely be using her services again. Thank you!!”

“Sage was amazing! This is the first time we used her as a doggie sitter for our baby Gracie, she was so great taking care of her and we look forward to using Sage again. In our opinion, she is the BEST!!! 🩷😊🐶”

Savannah watched my dog and cat for a week. She did a great job. My animals were happy and well taken care of. My place was left as a I found it. She sent me pics and an update of the day each evening. Very dependable and made me comfortable about leaving them with someone new. I will definitely hire her again in the future.

Catherine was awesome! She showed lots of attentive care for our two cats for her overnight stays with them. She would send videos and photos every day so we didn’t have to worry about how they were doing. She was responsive and asked questions when she needed clarification. We came back to happy cats and a clean house! Would definitely recommend her to anyone.

Justin did an absolutely amazing job caring for our 2 pups and house sitting while we were away for the holidays. Our dogs and house were very well taken care of. Justin was always quick to respond with updates and pictures of the dogs and I look forward to having him dog sit for us again!

FAQs for House Sitting - Miramar
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Miramar on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 7,062 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Miramar. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Miramar walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Miramar maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Miramar choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Miramar. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
