I believe ALL dogs are stars with their own unique "genre" (Punk, EDM, R&B, Rock, Pop, easy listening) and let's face it, this is how they crack us up on a daily basis! I believe positive reinforcement, but also Cesar's Way (exercise, discipline, affection) and include lots of playfulness in the process (solo or with my pup - your preference). I enjoy assisting in ongoing training (how to improve walking on a leash, how to look good for their "Dogs playing poker" portrait, etc) while in my care. Whether it be for a brief stay or a brisk walk (A tired dog is a happy dog!) I can't wait to meet your fluffy family member and help ease your mind while you are away from them. I have worked with dogs that may be fearful or have anxiety (many often confuse with being "aggressive" when this is not the case). Being attentive on our walks at all times is paramount...I'm not one who focuses on looking at my phone constantly (unless I'm taking pics of our walk to send to you!) while letting your pup pick up or eat something they shouldn't. I work around the east bay area and have my hand in all sorts of honey pots! I rarely work more than 6 hours total a day, and no more than 3 to four hours at a time. An average potty time walk would be anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes. I try make time for one leisure walk a day which lasts to a minimum an hour. Cuddle/play time is a must! I have a lot of breaks throughout the day to check in and give your pet the attention it deserves. I love long walks and snuggle sessions. Animals like routine, so I try my best to keep their routine as normal as possible. If your pet is social and friendly, I would love to incorporate social time with them. Take them out to a café or to a park. We'll try to do all the things they would do with you!

About: My family’s had 2 Havanese dogs a little over 3 years now and I take care of them regularly when they go out for the night or leave town. In addition I occasionally sit for family friends who have a Yorkie and used to watch a neighbor’s cat when she was still with us. Most animals find me agreeable and I try to be consistent and loving with any younger ones so that they’re shaped into the best possible pets. I’ve recently left my long-term job to focus on watching/walking pets. I do some gig work to make ends meet but my main passion right now is animal care. I have a spacious loft apartment in Chinatown Oakland in a very safe neighborhood just a few minutes walk from Lake Merritt. Crating (with one provided for me) in the apartment is an option as well as my sectional couch or rug depending on your animal’s preferences.

About: I have a 1 year old Husky/Shepard mix that is very cute and extremely well behaved (progressing through service dog training currently). I love dogs and pride myself on reading their body language well and have regularly diffused tense situations at the local dog park. I also love helping with basic training and leash skills. Comfortable with all things puppy and elder. I'm very active and open to long walks and runs if that's what your pup needs! I grew up with a German Shepard mix that I trained (got awards for best trained dog in multiple classes!). I was also the neighborhood dog sitter, mostly caring for Bernese Mountain and Goldens. I don't have a dog right now (planning to adopt when I move to a more conducive apartment). I have fostered with One Tail At a Time (mostly pittie mixes), and regularly dog sit (both walks and staying overnight) multiple friends' dogs. I am working on a startup and as a boxing coach currently. I have lots of flexibility outside of the classes I coach, which vary times slightly week to week. I don't currently accept additional pets in my home. I'm flexible with however an owner prefers their pet cared for in their own home - comfortable with or without use of a crate, taking walks vs backyard, etc.

About: I had a full grown cat in my crib as a baby, my parent's told me I would feed it my bottle. I moved to SC to live with my grandmother when I was young. She was a nurse and spent a lot of time helping the local animal shelter. At most, 20 kittens or puppies would be at her house. Usually the animals were malnourished or sick, she would try to get them healthy enough to adopt. That's probably why I love cats and dogs as much as I do. I've adopted 2 dogs, 1 cat from the humane society as an adult. The first dog I adopted was a feral puppy, I adopted him bc I wanted to see why my grandmother never would allow feral animals in her home. I had him for 14 wonderful years but it did take a lot of training and patience. The last dog I owned was a 1 year old pit from a kill shelter. I was able to train this dog not to bite and protect it's owner without biting. I love pets, I know more than your regular person on what types of food/treats to give a dog. For example, if your dog eats a couple pecans, that's bad news. I also know people can be very particular of what they want their animals eating, even if it's a treat. I'd never give someone else's pet a treat without their consent. My job revolves around fixing coffee machines and that business isn't as busy as it used to be prior to the pandemic. I have plenty of free time and I understand how important a routine is in young dogs/cats and I'm willing to help out in any way I possibly can. Currently my roommate has a dog that isn't friendly around other dogs, it's a 9 year old Shiba, and I've learned those breeds are some of the most stubborn dogs. I feed this dog, wash her, and trim du claws and nails. When my roommate is out of town, I let the dog sleep in my bed even though I can't stand how much she sheds. I have a clean background, I've never been in trouble for stealing bc my parents brought me up not to do that. Prior to moving out to CA to work on coffee machines, I spent 17 year's working for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage department. I didn't love my job which is why I'm out here now. My roommate I've known since high school, he'll confirm you won't have to worry when you're out of town.
