I was taught how to bottle feed, clean litter boxes, make sure bowls are clean and play with all pets to make sure they get the attention they deserve I’m available weekends starting Thursday for home drop ins or walks. Thursdays and Friday after 5:30pm, and Saturday and Sunday all day work best for home drop ins and walks I’m very active and can do long walks or plays. I can also do drop-ins. About: I have a flexible schedule and am booking dog walks and drop-ins! I can accommodate for whether your dog likes more activity or needs a quiet and calm environment. I have experience dealing with dogs and other animals with anxiety and other medical or physical needs. I work from home at my own pace so I can accommodate different needs! Ideally, pet guests can be left at home alone for about an hour for errands and other events that come up. Please provide a crate if your dog cannot be left alone for over an hour. My home is responsible and dog safe with gates to prevent access to the kitchen. My yard is not fenced but I always keep dogs leashed.

I use lots of positive reinforcement—like treats you approve of—to build trust and comfort. I also have experience safely administering medications, whether it's pills, liquids, or topical treatments. If needed, I can gently and safely correct bad behavior to help reinforce good habits. About: Hello! My name is Rebecca. I am a special education teacher from the Bay Area. Currently, I am taking a break from teaching as I plan my next steps. I have done Rover in the past, so during this transition I am filling my time with caring for pets and children, while tutoring part-time online, because well that’s what I’m good at! I’ve grown up with turtles, parakeets, fish, and cats. My own cat, who I adopted as a 3 month old kitten, passed at 19 years old last year. About 6 years ago, I helped my younger brother adopt a loving lab who serves as an emotional support dog, honestly for us all. We raised her from a 10 week old puppy. The most recent exciting news is that my partner and I recently adopted (now a 5 month old) puppy from a local shelter! She is the sweetest. I have watched many friends’ and clients’ dogs and cats, in all shapes and sizes, from small terriers in Humboldt County to Siberian huskies in San Francisco. My experience in pet sitting ranges from sitting for just a day to up to 2 weeks at a time. Working remotely also helps create a flexible lifestyle that I know all pets enjoy because it means more human time at home :) Because I tutor remotely, my schedule for pet care is very flexible. It leaves mornings and evenings very free because usually I tutor in the afternoons virtually. I also know pets enjoy having more human time at home so that is also a plus! I care for pets in my home and others’ homes, the same way I care for my students within my classroom, with empathy and patience. I respect and implement the owners’ requests and concerns, while problem solving if needed in the moment. I err on the side of caution when working with animals or other cherished living things (like students) that are not my own, especially if I am just getting to know them. I am familiar with the Bay Area, with all the beauty and diversity it offers, as well as the safety concerns with walking/driving and theft that unfortunately occurs. Additionally, a fun fact of combining teaching and animals, is that I have traditionally worked with a reading program that offers service “reading dogs” to visit classrooms weekly.
