That span taught me to tune in to each dog's needs by age and personality: the gentleness a senior needs, the structure a young dog needs, the patience a puppy needs. I walk, play, and cuddle; I also handle medications, feeding, and even home-cooked meals when needed. It means I tend to click with new dogs fast. These days I don't have animals of my own, which makes the time I get with clients' pets feel like a gift. This is also my full-time work — no day job pulling me away. I feel really lucky. I'd love to chat about what your family needs. When I'm house sitting, your pet is my home base. I may step out for a walk or two with another client during the day, but your baby's routine comes first and they get the bulk of my time, love, and care. When I'm not house sitting, I'm available every day after 11am for walks and drop-ins from Oakland up to the El Cerrito areas. To keep things safe and comfortable, I never walk dogs from different households together. I am available to spend time with your pet(s) in their home where they will be the most comfortable. I’ll come to you for walks.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 8 years old. I grew up with dogs in my family and currently have one of my own! I have experience in walking, feeding, bathing, and boarding dogs. I am on a hybrid work schedule and am home a majority of the week. I am an outdoors enthusiast and spend a majority of my time on hikes and long walks with my dog. Otherwise I am a home body and can easily adapt to your pet’s needs! I live in an apartment with quick and easy access to dog parks, hiking trails, and safe walking routes. Although I cannot provide an immediate fenced yard, I am capable of giving your dog adequate excercise, potty breaks, and enriching activities so that they go home happy and exhausted!

About: Hi! We’ve loved and cared for dogs with all kinds of personalities, and we’ll treat your pets like our own. Our most recent love was Luna, a 7-year-old Staffy-Lab pictured in our profile, who sadly passed from lymphoma after a year of chemotherapy. We’re not quite ready for a new fur baby of our own, but we miss having animal energy around and would love to care for yours. Tiff also raised a Chi-Weenie from puppyhood through her senior years, so we know just how special the bond with a dog can be. We work from home so we’re available for walks, feeding, and lots of playtime! Our schedules are flexible which means lots of love and pets available to your fur baby. We always make sure your dog is securely fitted in their harness and/or leash before leaving for walks. We also double check to make sure everything is locked up before leaving.

About: Hi! I'm Josephine, an experienced dog sitter and returning adult student. This might sound cliche, but dogs are my absolute favourite animals! I treat animals with as much respect as I would a human being. I have an intuitive, receptive, and education-based approach to caregiving. As a highly sensitive person, I can easily feel the needs and desires of animals, as well as other things they're communicating. My experience includes taking care of reactive dogs, dogs using wheelchairs, young ones and seniors. 
 I'm happy to integrate whatever your dog needs during pet-sits, drop-ins, and walks, such as treats and basic training they're already working on. I've trained my previous dog to do a few things as an adult, so I'm familiar with the process, but I'm not a trainer myself. For dog-sitting, I'm 100% respectful of your home, so I do my best to keep everything in tact, clean, and tidy. I'm currently studying full time and I have plenty of available time to play, laugh, and walk with your furry buddy! I'm sure we can figure out a perfect schedule. For dog-sitting, I follow all of your care instructions, including for specialized diets and medication. I'm very attentive to the dog's needs and desires and will answer to them promptly.

About: Husband and wife team here to help with your pets. We both grew up with pets, and currently have two dogs, a tortoise, and a fish tank. Who are we? Chandlor, UO class of 2025, UC Berkeley class of 2028. Chandlor is also the Race, Equality & LGBTQIA+ reporter for Richmond Confidential, and an freelance journalist for other publications. Originally from the DC metro area. Alison, Dartmouth class of 2014, accountant at UO, part time musician, farm girl at heart. Two for the price of one! (Currently Chandlor is alone in Berkeley, but Alison is joining soon) We’re flexible with our work schedules, but both work full time. Alison at UO, Chandlor remotely. Just ask us and we will see if it’s a good fit. We spend a lot of time with our pets, and they are our lives. All of our animals are elderly, so we’ve spent years making them more comfortable.

I’ve had plenty of experience with special needs dogs, senior dogs, and disabled dogs. I weight about 220lbs and I lift regularly so pullers don’t usually faze me much. I have my two husky mix girls, and I’ve always had dogs. I love taking care of dogs. My girls seem to especially love boy dogs. Of course I love taking care of peoples dogs. I prefer if you give me your guidance on how you’d like me to care for your baby. Dogs usually like routines. Some dogs only pee four times a day and other needs five or six times, so you tell me.
