“Alexandra did a very good job house sitting our dog, Luna. She took her on long walks and communicated with us at least once a day. She has also become a favorite of Luna.”
“Donna is a fantastic pet and home sitter. Communicates very well, house was immaculate, very responsible person! Most importantly, I noticed our dog was very relaxed when we arrived home too. Maybe even a little disappointed we were home. 😊 Thank you Donna!”

“The hardest part of going away is not being able to bring your pets. I am grateful to Brittany and her great care of my pets AND my home while I was away. I was able to enjoy my time knowing that my pets were being well cared for.”

“Joy did a fabulous job taking care of our pets and our home. She communicated daily and sent photos. Our cats and dog were very happy and looked great when we returned home. Joy also took immaculate care of our home, which we truly appreciated. We will definitely ask Joy to come again in the future.”

“Mikayla stayed with our active Jack Russell for 2 weeks while we were away. I never worried about our pup, knowing that she was being taken care of and played with. Mikayla shared updates and pictures, and answered promptly when I checked in with her. I recommend her without hesitation, we have never been so at ease while away.”

About: Hi! I’m Alanna, a lifelong dog lover with both personal and professional experience caring for pets. I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was a kid and I’ve worked as a shift lead at a pet store for over 2 years, where I also handle dogs in the grooming department. This means I’m very comfortable working with different breeds, sizes, and temperaments including anxious or high-energy dogs. I have experience with handling, basic grooming support, and reading dog behavior, so your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or just keeping them company, I’ll make sure your pet feels happy, safe, and loved while you’re away! Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I work part-time and take most of my college classes online, which allows me to have a very flexible schedule. I’m able to be available throughout the day for walks, feeding, playtime, and making sure pets get plenty of attention and care. I always adjust my care based on each pet’s individual needs and routine. In a client’s home, I stick closely to their normal schedule to minimize stress, including feeding, walks, playtime, and any medications or special instructions. I make sure pets feel comfortable in their familiar environment and provide regular updates. If caring for pets in my home, I provide a safe, clean, and structured environment with constant supervision, regular potty breaks, exercise, and plenty of attention. My experience working in a pet store and handling dogs in grooming has made me confident with a wide range of temperaments, so safety and comfort are always my top priorities.
About: I studied in the Veterinary Assisting program at Nashoba Valley Technical High School for 4 years, and graduated in 2025. During that time, I passed the TVMA Veterinary Assistant Certification (CVA) test. During this time, I became proficient in all of the skills a Veterinary Assistant would be expected to perform, and knowledgeable on relevant topics. I was also the recipient of the Certificate of Merit Achievement for Nashoba Tech’s Veterinary Assisting program. I had an amazing dog of my own who I loved and took care of for 10 years. I have also owned a guinea pig and taken care of numerous family cats throughout my life. I have been taking care of other people’s animals since I was 10 years old, watching the pets of family and friends. I am familiar with the care of all sorts of animals, not just limited to typical household pets. I have a lot of experience with animals with unique needs. My skills include fear free restraint and general handling, wound treatment, administration of medication, providing proper enrichment, and use of CPR. Here are some of the relevant certifications I have received: RESCUE- Veterinary Infection Preventionist Certification (September 2022) OSHA 10-hour Veterinary Certification (June 2022) Fear Free Certification (February 2023) Some of my other achievements: Recipient of the 2023 Massachusetts Student Achievement Award Member of the National Honors Society and National Technical Honors Society Selected attendee of 2023 MIAA Student Leadership Conference If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out! I am working part time as a doordasher, babysitter, and house cleaner, and my schedule is very adaptable. I prefer to schedule things at least two weeks in advance to keep a neat schedule. The farther out you book with me the more likely I am to be available, but I will still try my best to fit things in if they’re last minute. I take special care to ensure the animals I care for feel comfortable around me and are comfortable in their own homes. I always make sure to clean up after the animals and myself.
“Indigo stayed for a few nights to watch my dog and cat giving them lots of cuddles walks and keeping me apprised of how everyone was doing with frequent updates and photos. Indigo left the house spotless and would be welcome back anytime.”

“Alyssa did a fabulous job with our senior lab mix. She was communicative and took wonderful care of him and our home while we were away. She administered medicine and gave him the space he needed to warm up to her. Would absolutely hire her again.”

About: I've been around dogs all my life, I've had three wonderful family dogs growing up with distinct personalities and needs. I have experience with dogs with special needs such as mobility issues, temperment/reactivity issues, and medication regimes. I dogsat my teacher's epileptic poodle when she couldn't be boarded due to her medication needs, helped my neighbor's basset get around during the last years of his life, walked and played with my other neighbor's golden to get his energy out, gave a much-needed bath to a frail elderly minature when his owner passed away, and nursed a sickly puppy back to health while he was being quarantined in my room away from other pets. I believe dogs are unique like people and they all have different boundaries, comfort levels, personalities, and needs, and the secret to the best pet care is getting to know every individual like they are your own loved one. I work part time three days a week (9am-3pm, tues/weds/sat), so I will be gone for my shift for that six hours if I'm dogsitting on those days! Otherwise, I'm available for services all other times except a couple hours every Sunday for my weekly DnD session :-) I'm very flexible and I'm sure we can figure out a schedule that works for both of us, and your pets! I cannot host pets in my own home due to my own pets, but I'm totally willing to come hang out with your pet at your home! I'll take your lead: Want me to hang out there for hours and keep your pet company? Works for me! Want me to only check in every so often, and only enter parts of the home that I absolutely have to? Also fine! Whatever works for you, I can work around it.
“I highly recommend April! We booked with her for 3 nights of house sitting in our home and our pup had a blast!! April sent regular photos, videos and updates, and our girl got lots of walks, playtime and snuggles. We were so glad to have her and can’t wait to work with her again the next time we go away!”

“Jessica. I’m grateful we’ve reconnected. Thank you for taking care of our crazy girl. Boarding just doesn’t work for her so this is the perfect solution and the added bonus of some cleaning which you didn’t need to do but….we are grateful for. Thank you thank you!!!”

“Callie and her girls always take such good care of our pups. Sheets and dishes are clean when we get back. We know our pups and house are well cared for and loved while we’re away.”

“Theo was absolutely amazing with my two dogs. He was thoughtful and took the time to get friendly with them on their terms and was clearly very experienced. Super easy to work with, great communication, and so many frame worthy photos sent. Would rebook in a heartbeat.”

About: I gained hands-on experience caring for animals in a busy pet store, learning to read behavior and handle different temperaments. I’m reliable, attentive, and comfortable with dogs of all sizes, ensuring they’re safe, happy, and well cared for. I’m currently working part time, so I’ll have plenty of time for pup play. Meetings work best in the early afternoon for me. I’ve grown up with three dogs and a cat my entire life; always taking them on walks and playing around. I’ve also have helped others who have pups with special conditions at my job.
“Shayna was awesome! My 9 year old lab was comfortable with her from the moment they met each other during the meet & greet. She did a 3 night stay in our home and cared for our pup and 2 cats and sent texts and picture updates each day/night showing they were in good hands. We will definitely be rebooking her for future sittings! Thanks again Shayna, you rock! I’m sure my pets miss you already”

“Megan did an awesome job taking care of our cat and dog for the weekend. She was a great communicator with us and home and pets looked perfect when we came home! Will love to use her again in the future.”

About: I love to work with animal, I’ve been in the veterinary profession for 10+ years. If your pet has special care instructions I will follow them perfectly. I have dogs, cats, and horses at home so I am very comfortable working with all sizes of animals. I also know how to care for birds, fish, guinea pigs, and hamsters and pigs. I know how much a pet can mean to someone so ill will care for yours as if they were my own I currently work 4 days a week. I am available Fridays to Sunday’s if you are looking for a weekend getaway or if you have a busy weekend and would like your dog to go for a walk I don’t offer in my home dog services but can offer cat or small animal boarding. You tell me home you’d like your pet cared for, weather it’s taking them for a walk or just letting them out in a fenced in area

About: I've had dogs my entire life. I adopted my new best friend Blu about a year ago, a Terrier-Schnauzer mix, and he's changed our lives. I love Chicago and how dog friendly the city is. I know how much work is involved in dog care, but also what a source of happiness dogs bring to a home, and I'm always looking to do work that I find genuinely fulfilling. “Happiness is a warm puppy.” —Charles M. Schulz

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pepperell walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pepperell maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pepperell choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pepperell. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
