“Sheri did a great job with our dog. Even though it was just for a few hours, our dog Maggie seemed to have a great time with her. She was aware to make sure she is sticking to Maggie’s routine and try to make sure she was as entertained as possible. I would definitely recommend Sheri as your next dog sitter!”

“Mikayla was awesome with our girls and very professional with our house while we were out of town. We came home to happy dogs and a clean home, she was also very good about communication both before and during the trip. Will absolutely use her again.”

“Callie was terrific with our 8 month old puppy! He is in his teenage phase and can be difficult - but Callie did an excellent job keeping him entertained, out of troubled and most important comfortable/relaxed. We will be repeat customers, for sure!”

About: I have been raising dogs for 30 years. I took care of my parents dog, my daughters dog as well as a friend of mine. I currently own a small dance studio in the Burlington area and I am looking to use my time free to take care of pets. I have a fenced in yard. I currently have my own two dogs. An American Eskimo who is 16 years old and a Yorkie Party who is 2 years old and has diabetes incepduse
“Every pet owner needs a Theo. I’ve used a lot of sitters from rover vs local colleges to friend’s kids, but Theo is by far the best sitter there is out there. My (hard to handle) crew is always well taken care of and my house is usually in better shape than when I left 🤣 top notch sitter for sure!”

“I had a last-minute adjustment to my vacation schedule and needed a sitter and found Shayna. She was super flexible and accommodating, and came to meet my dogs and learn their routine the same day! Shayna provided excellent care for my dogs who are anxious and can sometimes be difficult to care for. I would absolutely use her again for overnight services or walking anytime that we are traveling and she is available! Thank you for taking such good care of my girls💙🐶”

“Jessica took wonderful care of our 11yr old pup who is going blind & almost completely deaf! She followed our instructions, kept him happy, took him on walks, gave him medicine, cuddled with him, basically the works! She sent pictures & updates about 3x a day, which made us feel at ease. I would highly recommend her to anyone! Thanks Jessica!!”
“Nathan was wonderful - providing loving care for my two dogs. He was on time, offered support when my dog sprained her ankle, and attentive to their needs. Thank you Nathan!”

“Taylor was a wonderful pet sitter and took excellent care of our two small dogs and our house! She is very warm and friendly and was great with our pets. When we came home after our weekend away, our pets were relaxed and happy. She even baked some cookies for us!”

“Andrea sent many pictures and made sure my cats were very well taken care of! She also did an amazing job at giving one of my cats her daily pills. While my cats were in her care I didn’t have a single worrying thought about how they were doing, making my vacation super relaxing and stress free! She’s the best!”

“Wren is fantastic! He clearly loves animals and connects well with them. He's very friendly and personable with humans, too. :-) Wren is punctual and an excellent communicator who responds very quickly to all forms of contact, plus he follows instructions well and doesn't need a lot of hand-holding to get the job done. What more can you ask for in a pet sitter? We are very happy with his services and look forward to working with him for our future pet care needs.”

About: I gained hands-on experience caring for animals in a busy pet store, learning to read behavior and handle different temperaments. I’m reliable, attentive, and comfortable with dogs of all sizes, ensuring they’re safe, happy, and well cared for. I’m currently working part time, so I’ll have plenty of time for pup play. Meetings work best in the early afternoon for me. I’ve grown up with three dogs and a cat my entire life; always taking them on walks and playing around. I’ve also have helped others who have pups with special conditions at my job.

About: I’ve owned dogs ranging from 50 lbs to 80lbs through out my life. I have worked with all types of animals from as small as chickens up to 2000lb horses. I’m currently working part time. I have plenty of time to stay overnight to watch your precious little pups. I also have time to swing by during the day to let them out on a walk. For animals in your home I will follow whatever directions are left for me. On top of that I will also give the animals as much love as they need.
“Ashley was AWESOME! We left town for a few days and felt so comfortable. The dogs were happy (and so was the baby bearded dragon). Sheet pictures and kept in contact. We have a dog that runs and were definitely worried, but Ashley had zero issues. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

About: When I was 8-14 years old I used to take care of my neighbors pets while they were away and gave them their insulin. I also had/have animals of my own to take care of therefore I have had experience with caring for animals my whole life. I currently work but will be willing to fit around a schedule that works so your furry family is well taken care of and in the best hands. I have plenty of yard as well as 2 dog parks and also 2 dogs; therefore your furry friend will have plenty of other dogs to play with and to run around.
“Colin took care of my rescue pup, Annie, a black lab mix with special needs, for an extended stay after a previous sitter had to cancel at the last minute. You could tell right off what a pet lover he was. He asked many good questions at the meet and greet, was punctual and handled Annie’s energy well on a leash. Colin sent me pictures and multiple daily updates on how she was doing. Giving her daily meds, tennis ball play times and long walks to help with her anxiety were part of a daily routine. I came home to a tired and happy pup. I would highly recommend Colin to anyone needing pet sitting services! Jain & Annie”

Michael was great. He communicated every single day. He took great care of Milo, ask if he needed to do anything around the house, took out the trash. We left him for 9 days and every single day we got updates and pictures of our dog. Will book with him again in the future

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hollis walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hollis maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hollis choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hollis. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
